Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Yeah I'm still running with the same starting 5 actually (year 3).

    PG - Conley/Smith
    SG - Mayo/Allen/Shumpert
    SF - Gay/Young/Earl Clark
    PF - Randolph/Arthur/Tolliver
    C - Gasol/Okur/Benson

I didn't play as the Grizzlies the first two seasons mind (Hawks year one, Blazers year two, control all 30 teams), but I wanted to see what I could do with this roster seeing as it has barely been touched and some nice complimentary pieces have been added. I'm sitting 5th so far just coming into January.

Would this be an EXTEREMELY DUMB Trade to Offer?
      Kings Send:
      Stephen Curry
      Tyreke Evans
      Paul George
      Hornets Send Chris Paul
I DO have Caron Butler to Replace George and A lot of SG Depth.... Thoughts?
This would be my Lineup after trade:
      PG Chris Paul
      SG K.Hinrich(or K.Korver)
      SF Caron Butler
      PF Josh Smith
      C Al Horford
Thoughts? Good Trade or Bad trade?

Bad, I don't consider Hinrich and Korver good SG depth imo. Best off sticking with Tyreke and Curry, they compliment each other well.

Well, I found out my Group would look Like this:.
          PG:Chris Paul(94), K.Hinrich(75)
SG: Gerald Henderson(72) (Would leave SG depth in the crapper.)
          SF:Caron Butler(83),Omir Casspi(68) K.Korver(64)
          PF:Josh Smith(87), Donte Greene(64), Sean Williams(64)
          C:Al Horford (84) J.Noah (76) H.Whiteside(65)

To make this Trade work in my Favor. I would have to Trade J.Noah and a Pick for some SG in the 70's or even 80's.
This Trade would Really leave My Bench Empty :/

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I started up a rebuild with the Phoenix Suns, however I didnt want to completely gut the entire team, as I feel that wouldnt be realistic.

I decided to trade Vince Carter, My first round pick and Aaron Brooks to the Raptors for Leandro Barbosa, Calderon, their First rounder (ended up being #3 OVR) and a second rounder.

Then on draft day I gave the 3rd OVR pick and Calderon to move up to #2, and selected Derrick Williams. I also traded Robin Lopez and a second for the #16 pick and selected Jimmer Fredette. I choose Isaiah Thomas in the second round.

I feel that was a solid group of trades because in essence I traded an aging VC, Aaron Brooks and Robin Lopez for Barbosa, a new superstar in D-Will, and Nash's possible replacement in Fredette. The trade allowed me to get younger and deeper.

            Now My lineup is

            PG: Nash/Fredette/Thomas
            SG: Barbosa/Thomas
            SF: Dudley/Childress
            PF: D-Will/Frye/Warrick
            C: Gortat/Lawal

Definitely far from where I need to be, but a solid start.

Mine is going pretty well!! I am the Knicks in the playoffs in the second round. I swept past the injured Celtics 4-0. Paul Pierce was out for the series, and Shaq was injured with a back injured. I am facing the Heat with no D-Wade. he was injured early 1st in the quarter of the 1st game. Lebron has shoulder the load but you know, He cant be te only one to d it. Its like the same cavs team as last year, but with more shooters. We are up 2-0 on the Heat! Game 3 is back in The Garden, back in NY!!! We will see how the game goes! With no D-Wade and the Carmelo,Amare rolling!! We will see!!

1st year with rockets, completely changed the roster due to it being fairly boring play with. And I wanted Yao and Mcgrady to be together again.

                  PG- Lowry, Mills
                  SG- Mcgrady, Korver, Terrance Williams
                  SF- Granger, Dahntay Jones
                  PF- Scola, Anthony Randolph
                  C- Yao, Splitter, Earl Barron

Have Terrance Williams and N'diaye in D-League.

I am 17-9 was just on a 10 game winning streak, thanks mainly due to a easy schedule. Got Lakers, Heat, Denver and Jazz coming up. That shall be fun.

T-Will in the D-league? Why? He is like 77 overall. He should definitely benefit your team. Why would you send him down?
The way to build a good team is not to load it with star players, but to load it with players who play well together with an identity

Yeah that's a good point. He was averaging about 2 minutes a game (4 minute quaters) and I felt he would benefit more in the D-League. Dahntay Jones plays a lot like him but he's a better defender. I may move him up, is there any negatives about having someone in the D-League? Like moral?

                      Thanks.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I've been working to create a realistic portrayal of a rebuilding season for the Cleveland Cavaliers. I simulated the first year because it's over in real life already and went right to the draft with a downloaded and most updated draft class. I got the 1st and 4th pick(just like in real life).

With the first pick I drafted Kyrie Irving. Obviously he wasn't our need as our need was Small Forward but the rule of thumb in NBA drafts is that you should draft the best talent, not the most need. And with the fourth pick I drafted Enes Kanter.

We started off quite well, going 2-2 through our first four games(playing on 29 game season). I spent an enormous amount of time trying to develop young players and rookies such as Kyrie Irving, Enes Kanter, and JJ Hickson. After I thought that those three were developed enough, I decided to make a trade.

I traded Antawn Jamison for Gerald Henderson from the Charlotte Bobcats and some other Small Forward with the last name Dobbson who had a rating around 65. Antawn was an old veteran who needed to go. Next I traded Baron Davis, another old veteran who needed to go, for Travis Outlaw and the Nets' first round pick.

So let's take a look at my roster:
                        PG - Kyrie Irving/Ramon Session
                        SG - Gerald Henderson/Manny Harris
                        SF - Travis Outlaw/? Dobbson
                        PF - JJ Hickson
                        C - Enes Kanter/Anderson Varejao

Now if you ask me that's a young, developing, and rebuilding roster! So far, sense the Davis and Jamison trades, we have gone 3-2 to push our record to 5-4. Not the best, but decent for a rebuilding team.

If anyone has any suggestions which can help me rebuild quicker please let me know! Thanks.

I love this project. I am trying to rebuild the Cavs too. Check out my posts in the last page or two of this thread.

My suggestion is get some perimeter shooting. There is a lot of drivers and cutters, but as a rule of thumb, your PG shouldn't be your only shooter.

Ok so who all in here sims and who plays there games ? or maybe alil of both and when u play do u control one certain position or all of them ? I myself mostly do coach mode that way im not like favoring one guy and having someone shoot it 40 times, and i just feel like its alil more real, like especially the assist, it sometimes can be to easy to fast break down court dump it off to a guy and get a assist on a layup or pass it in to someone everytime down and have them shoot it, and get like 15 assist. but from reading some of these results, it seems pretty real for the most part,

iam about to start season #3 and i think im going to keep it at a rhythm of coaching half the game, the simming the rest of the game, and then the next game ill sim with hoopscast the whole game that way i still have control of the subs, and see how that comes out, My team does better when i Sim, last year towards the end of the season i had a 5 game winning streak 2 times, but never once had that when i was playing the first half and simming the 2nd half or hoopscasting the games. I even lost some home games to some bad teams when doing the play/sim rather then simming it all, But when i sim the whole game i dont feel like much of a coach, more like a GM sitting back watching
