Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just started a wizards association last week. I simulated this season and went right to the draft. I traded for the wizards actual picks and drafted according to some mock drafts I read. I drafted Jonas valacanuvis (spelling) then went with Tobias Harris and finished the draft with Corey Joseph. A great draft. I didn't sign any free agents because I dont see many free agents going there this year. John wall is putting up MVP type numbers. Harris is coming off the bench and top 7 in rookie scoring. McGee is getting 3-4 blocks a game and blatche is heating up. We are 7-2 going into our 10th game. I am scouting a perry jones and Jared sullinger for next years draft. Truly the funnest team I have played with in 2k.

Released Rudy Fernandez because he was complaining (his contract was over in a year i did not care).
Finished the season 44-38 (huge disappointment)
Playoffs: Beat Toronto in 5 games, got swept by Chicago

      Off Season

You might wanna try to grab a solid veteran player like Jason Terry, Jason Kidd, or someone like that to come off your bench and give your young guys some veteran leadership haha.[/quote]

Argh! Got the dreaded intra squad scrimmage glitch and my association was ruined as there was no late game fouling. so i just updated to the last patch. (really wished i done that earlier)

anyway, gonna start a new season again. Gonna be rolling the Warriors.

I play 10 minute quarters but wish I could lower it. Takes me too long to play a game and I get distracted mid game and don't end up finishing til hours later. I do play with game speed 55 so it's almost accurate stats. I also don't change the rosters lol, just do a regular season with the real life rosters and play all 82, plus playoffs. I'm only at the 47 game mark so far, there's too many damn sports games that I try to play the full season and it's tough to play them all before the next version comes out.

I'm back to Association after spending most of my team with online leagues and My Player!

I decided to sim the first season and keep it at the offseason. I'm waiting on the draft, and will try to give everyone their respective players.

By the way, I chose the Nets.

Keep us updated man. The Nets managed to get a post season berth last season in my game but lost out to the Bulls in 6

                PG - Williams/Farmar
                SG - Burks/Vujacic
                SF - Kirilenko/James
                PF - Humphries/Faried
                C - Lopez/Ben Wallace

That is what I can remember of the current rotation, a quality SF would probably get them over the barrier in my association.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So I decided to finally do an association with my hometown Hornets!!

I was going to try to keep it as close to realistic as I could but it just wasn't happening.. None of the players wanted to re-sign with me after the first season and everyone wanted to test free agency so I just said screw it and built my team as best I could..

During the off-season I assembled an amazing team.

I was able to trade 2 1st round draft picks (1 and 8) for Kevin Love because he was upset in Minnesota for some reason.

I was also able to trade Okafor, West, Nolan Smith, and a 2nd rounder for Wesley Matthews and Greg Oden. (Then they cut Nolan Smith for some reason)

I picked up Mbah a moute in free agency because I wanted his defense along with Ariza.

                      My current line-up is

                      PG: Paul/Jack
                      SG: Matthews/Bellinelli/Willie Green
                      SF: Ariza/Mbah a Moute/Pondexter
                      PF: Love/Landry
                      C: Oden/Aaron Gray/Jeff Foster

                      D-league: Nolan Smith

It's looking like Chris Paul isn't going to want to re-sign with me next year so I'm hoping I have enough talent on this team to run without him. I'm loving the defense though.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I just had a heart breaking loss in my first game of the second season of my Wolves association. I was facing the Lakers, who surprisingly had Sebastin Telfair as there starting PG. Funny cause he choose to leave my team because he was upset, now he's starting PG in the Lake Show. That's why I hate simming the first season, I always forget about keeping players happy.

But back to the game. The game started off a little slow, but picked up late in the 1st quarter. Kobe got on his game, K-Love and Beasly was off for me. So Kyle Korver handled the scoring load, killing them off screens. Enes Canter picked up his game and started drawing fouls. Kobe was killing me in the 2nd half, so I brung Battier off the bench cause Wesley Johnson wasn't doing a good job on Kobe. Battier did a better job, but Kobe was on. I disrupted him a little bit, by bringing in double teams. Fast forward to the end its tied up right and Sebastin Telfair takes the shot for LA to take the lead. I was sort of pissed off because I wanted to see Kobe taking the shot for the lead, to see can I succesfully defend him 1 on 1. Now there's 2 seconds left for me to shoot to tie or shoot to win. Seeing that Korver was on fire, I tried giving the ball to him on top of the arc. Ron Artest slaps the ball out Korver's hand, the ball fumbled on the floor till the the game clock expired.

I wasn't mad at all, it was my mistake to put the ball in Korver's hand at the top of the arc with 2 seconds left. Good game, defense was tight I loved it. The only changes I made to the Wolves is I signed Rubio, drafted Enes Kanter, traded away an unhappy Johnny Flynn for Kyle Korver, also I got rid of Martell Webster some how.

I'm in my 3rd year with the Sixers. The first season we made the playoff as the 8th seed and got swept by the Heat in the first round. There was just no way to improve the team as constructed with the fat contracts several players had, so I spent the off-season and the whole 2nd season trying to find ways to free cap space and obtain draft picks. I really love the way my roster has turned out so far. We are playing poorly still in year 3 but all of my players will only get better.

                          Jermaine Oneal 72

Everyone on the team is happy except for Meeks and Heinrich but they are not in my long term plans anyway. I am using the time up until the trade deadline to decide if i want to continue to develop this group of players of maybe put a package together for a superstar.

I'm not sure how much veterans affect the game, but, I just know in the real NBA teams full of 20 somethings will never be able to win it all. Perfect example, OKC Thunder. They have amazing young talent and their time will come, but, they didn't have enough veterans to pull them through the tough times in the playoffs.

Check out my association in my sig. I picked up, Billups, Ariza, Oden in a deadline deal to help give me some veteran leadership off the bench. Oden is young, so mainly just Billups and Ariza but they compliment Kyrie Irving and Harrison Barnes very nicely

Just beat the Nets in my season opener of the 11-12 season 109-95. J.J Hickson led the way with 32 pts 13 reb and 2 stl. Number 1 overall pick Kyrie irving chipped in 18 pts and 9 dimes in his pro debut. My other rookie big man Enes Kanter came off the bench and dropped 19 pts and 9 boards. next up is a road game @ Boston.
