Bentons NBA 2k11 Portland Trail Blazer Association

"Decisions to be made this season regarding Gerald Wallace"

The Portland Trail Blazers enter the 2011-2012 season full of hope even after missing the playoffs the last 2 seasons, There younger players are getting more experience, they now get a full season with #1 pick from last season Kenny McCormick who also won rookie of the year, So that is now 2 rookie of the year winners on the Blazers, McCormick and Brandon Roy,

But there is questions regarding forward Gerald Wallace, during this past off season he accepted his player option for this season, However Wallace if not offered a extension, will become a free agent. " Wallace is a great player and hustles every play and gives us a great weapon however as a franchise we also have to think about the future of this team. We will think long and hard during the season on wither we will resign him or cut ties. But right now i dont want him to think about that. I want him to go out and help us win ball games and make it back to the playoffs". Says GM and Head Coach Benton. "We do have some great young talent waiting patiently for there turn to take over, in Patrick Patterson and Wesley Matthews"

Another option for Portland is to trade Wallace b4 the deadline and see what they can get outta him. But i think it would all depend on where the team is record wise. For the 3rd straight opener the starting lineup will be different, Only difference this season is at the PG position, McCormick didnt start out last season on Portlands roster, He was traded from Toronto to Portland. As of right now the starting lineup for the season opener will be

McCormick-Roy-Wallace-Aldridge-Oden. with key bench players in Matthews and Patterson, They also have some extra depth with backup PG Armon Johnson, and PG Cedric Goodwin who played all last season in the D league, Coach Benton says he will use Rookie PF Kurt Posey who was picked 28th overall, and showed some great things in the pre season. The Blazers open up with the Phoenix Suns who start life without Steve Nash who retired, there is Log Jam at the front court for the Suns, and rumors are going on about a trade, Zach Randolph or Chris Kaman who they just signed, or even Robin Lopez, to get a PG in return cause right now the Suns only 2 true point guards are Louie Knight(62) and Vince Pollard(57). But yep its Trail Blazer season coming up, dont miss out.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just did my first game and i did the play first half sim 2nd half and my goodness my team cant hack it during played games, no wonder i did better simming haha, i was playing the Suns who are rated 70 and my team is 91 overall, only OKC and Miami are better then that, and in the first half i get beat 60-49. But i simmed the 2nd half and we won that half, but lost the game at home of all places..

It didnt help that the #2 overall pick in this past draft for the Suns went bonkers in his first nba game, he had 21 at the half, he had 12 of the Suns first 16 points, dude is for real on there, ended up 38, isnt that a record for most points by a rookie in his debut. Well now i got the Bulls next on the road, ouch. But there coming off a overtime loss, Derrick Rose had 48. In this game i will be hoopscasting now, and then next game a full simulation, and then the game after that will be back to playing first half simming 2nd half, im going to keep this all the way through and find out how my stats and record is on each thing

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Currently 4-2 With the Wolves, I think I have a championship team right now.

        Kyrie Irving/Jimmer Freddette
        Eric Gordon/Jason Richardson/Xavier Henry
        Wes Johnson/Aminu
        Anthony Randolph/Keith Benson
        JaValee Mcgee/Hasheem Thabeet/Sam Dalembert

        Leading Scorer: Eric Gordon 22.4ppg/48%
        Leading Rebounder: Wes Johnson 8.7rpg
        Leading Passer: Kyrie Irving: 6.9apg/3.2topg

We play amazing defense(allow least points), have length, have depth, shoot well, rebound, can get to the rim. The only problem i do have is the lack of a post presence(which im working on with Mcgee) the only problem i do have with this team is turnovers, getting back in transition, we do allow way to many easy lay-ups on fast breaks and sometimes we do go through major offensive droughts when shots aren't falling.

I do see a problem after this season in resigning because Gordon/Randolph/Mcgee/Dalmebert/Thabeet all are free agents and the only ones that are a lock to stay are Thabeet and Dalembert because they're cheap and I wan't to keep Irving/Johnson/Jimmer down the road

first off this game is amazing!!! light years ahead of my football games (EA)

i used my wizards and made some huge trades early. grabed gasol from memphis. grabeed j.r smith from denver.

then i moved my picks around trading depth for more picks.
at the end of the season i think i won like 15 games total.
going into the draft i had traded for about 3 first round picks, and two second round picks. I got kanter(C) alec burk(SG) marshoon brooks(SG) Thompson(PF) and one other PF i cant think of. I rebuilt my team around young shooters and one the first game of the season against the heat. I ****ING LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!

Landed the 1st, 2nd, and 4th picks in my T-Wolves association. I traded Kevin Love to the Wizards for McGee and their 2011 1st Round Pick. Shipped Beasley to the Clippers for their 2011 and 2012 1st Round Pick. About to do pre draft workouts and the draft

I'm playing with the Wolves also, your team is very interesting.

                My Wolves are:
                Luke Ridnour/Ricky Rubio
                Wesley Johnson/Korver
                Michael Beasley/Battier
                Kevin Love/Anthony Randolph
                Enes Kanter/Darko Millic/Tolliver

Any tips on how to get Wes Johnson going? He isn't doing anything for me. Also what did you do with Kevin Love and Beasley? I'm shock to see Love not on your roster.

My Wolves open up the new season on a high note defeating the Lakers 106-96. My player of the game was the big man Javale McGee who put up 24 points 11 boards and 2 blocks on Bynum. My 2 rookies also had put up some big numbers. Derrick Williams had his way with Artest finishing with 25 points 9 boards 5 assists and 4 steal. Number 1 overall pick Kyrie Irving pitched in 19 points 10 dimes and 2 steals but also had 5 turnovers. Next game is against DRose and the Bulls

I was originally the T Wolves, but switched to Miami in the 3rd year to try to get them a championship since so far they haven't won yet. The Heat always have a bunch of late first round and second round rookes, so i traded them/released them and built this team. I brought in a bunch of role players to surround the big 3.

                    PG: Kirk Hinrich
                    SG: Dwayne Wade
                    SF: LeBron James
                    PF: Chris Bosh
                    C: Tyson Chandler

                    Shane Battier
                    J.J. Barea
                    Rudy Fernandez
                    Al Harrington
                    Ben Wallace
                    Mike Miller
                    Udonis Haslem

                    Brad Miller

Wesley Johnson for me scoring is a struggle, some games he's on point like 20 on like 55% shooting then next game he'll give me 8 points off of like 15 shots so i just limit his shots, only take wide open jumpers and drive to the basket. I never try to pull up or make him shoot off the dribble. I mostly use him on the teams best perimeter player cause he does have good on-ball and defensive awareness ratings and for some reason he's a beast on the boards for me

                      As for Beasley
I traded Beas/1st rounder/2nd rounder for Eric Gordon
Then sent Love for Mcgee straight up I believe after the very first game

Lakers offered me Andrew Bynum in exchange for JaVale McGee and Marcus Camby so i pulled the trigger on the deal. I think Bynum has more potential then McGee and Camby is gonna retire after this year anyway

Yeah Wes is hard to work with, I did get a few fastbreaks with him my last 2 game. And oh those trades are fair. I'm sticking around with the core for a little while, because when I make a change I want it to have a huge impact.

I hate that also. I don't read post that start with omggg I made a superteam and 5 trades it's just hella boring to me.

But I just finished up 3 games in my Wolves association. I blewout the Hawks and the Magic. Now I'm thinking the game is to easy for me, I either need to change sliders or decrease my shooting values so scoring can be more difficult for me. Because everything but rebounding is coming easy to me and the team.

Also to anyone using KG's latest roster, Rubio is stud! He's only rated a 61 but yet he's so effective. If you use him realistically and play with him like he does in real life, setting up his teammate first and letting his shot come to him, his play is beautiful.

To all the guys using the Wolves, what coaching changes have you made?

Ive fired the current head coach and hired Flip Saunders and I hired a defensive minded assistant coach. I wanted our team to be defense first, because I love defensive teams.
