Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Started one with the LA Clips. I decided I was going to sim the whole first season. Never made the playoffs and Lakers beat the Heat in the Finals. First moved I made was trading Davis and Ryan Gomes for the Grizz 1st round pick. I ended up getting the 2nd and 7th pick in the draft. Traded the 2nd overall pick to Toronto for their next years 1st round pick. (There was no one I really wanted in this years draft) With the 7th pick I drafted Kemba Walker.

In Free Agency I was able to sign Melo and Troy Murphy. Going into my 2nd season this is what my team looks like.

        Eric Bledsoe, Kemba Walker
        Eric Gordon, Randy Foye
        Carmelo Anthony,Al Farouq Aminu
        Blake Griffin, Troy Murphy
        Chris Kaman,DeAndre Jordan

So far the team is really fun to play with and I worked on Bledsoe's 3's in the off-season he is up in the 90's for his 3 point rating. Currently 2-2 including a win over the Lakers in OT.

Thinking about making a trade for Nash who is 37, and have Walker back him up and move Bledsoe to the bench to back up Gordon. Plus I have 3 picks in the 1st round of next years draft, should be a lot of fun.

Great deal for the Thunder...hence why I turned it down. Made no sense to trade 2 superstars for one. And yes Bosh is a superstar player in my book. Love his game and we won a title with him in year one and he was actually my personal MVP (although Lebron got it) he had monster games to lead the team in games 4 and 5. I mean monster games!

I think you're about the only person that considers wade a better player than durant. Im pretty sure everyone's top 3 is (in any order) lebron, kobe, and durant.

Im pretty sure that durant is a better shooter, scorer, blocks more shots, gets to the free throw line more, can guard more positions because of his length. Pretty sure the only wade does better is get steals.

not to mention that durant was pretty much the unanimous pick by GM's on who they would build a team around

Durant is a fantastic player. He still has some things to do to build his resume and be considered better than Dwayne Wade.

Wade is a proven assassin. Ice in his blood and a guy who i want to take the big shot when I need it most. We can go back and forth all night. But just because Durant is 5 inches taller does not automatically make him better. When it is all said and done I think you can debate forever who is better. What do you want a Jag or a Bentley?

                    Both are insane talents.

very true. you could argue all night. But i wasnt saying that height is what makes Durant better; i was just saying that it gives him certain advantages that D-wade doesn't have.

I like how you put that there. It is kind of silly to argue about, what does it really matter? They're both top 5 talents that edge each other out ever so slightly in just about every category. Only exceptions are Durant is much more lengthy which is a huge advantage as he can shoot over anyone with a hand in his face, but Wade is a much better ball handler and play maker for himself and everyone else on the floor which is a huge advantage. Myself, I would take D-Wade, but that's just me as I go with proven vets. I'm sure Durant will prove himself, but he hasn't quite yet in my book. Great player though.

You cant go wrong with Durant or Wade...

I want to start a new association... simming the 1st season and drafting "my player" in the 2011 draft. 6'8 SF 82 OVR... plan on building my team around him. All other prospects are real. Id like to start with a bad team or a team that could acquire the 1st pick in the draft as that is what it will take to get "my player." I recently started one like this with my hometown Bucks and grew frustrated with Bogut and Jennings... going 1-3 to start 2nd season.

Here are the teams Im thinking about playing with in order of interest:

                            Knicks:
                            +Stoudemire & plenty young talent
                            +History; play in MSG!
                            +Grew up a Knicks fan
                            -already a playoff team IRL
-probably will end up with Melo IRL
No chance at 1st pick but do have some trade chips to get the 1st pick

                            Clippers:
                            +Griffin & plenty young talent
                            +Unis; play in LA
                            +Need a consistent SF
                            -History
-Drafted a SF in Aminu last year
Decent chance at 1st pick and plenty trade chips to get 1st pick

                            76ers:
                            +good depth on the perimeter
                            +history, unis & court
-no bigman to build front court around
                            -Elton Brand's contract
May get a lottery pick, just not 1st pick but do have some trade chips to get 1st pick

                            Raptors:
                            +Derozan & Bargnani
                            +unis & court
                            +Need a SF
                            -no history
                            -no depth
Have a great chance of getting 1st pick,
No trade chips(DD & Barg off limits)

                            Warriors:
                            +Great backcourt
                            +Unis & court
                            +Need a SF
                            -Small backcourt
-David Lee's bad contract & lack of size in frontcourt
Decent chance of getting 1st pick; probably would have to give up Curry or Ellis for 1st pick which I dont want to do.

                            Who would you go with?

A 1-3 start is no death sentence, and isn't even a worry that early; especially in the East Central.

I'd go w/ the Clipps, and if you're MyPlayer is a superb player then Aminu can adjust to a role-player/6th man role.

No chance at 1st pick but do have some trade chips to get the 1st pick

                                Who would you go with?
I think if it actually said "Madison Square Garden" on the court that would make the experience of playing there so much better(imo). In the older 2K games it did, but it hasn't in the last 7 or so...I guess it has to do with naming rights or something. Anyways, I think the Knicks would be a fun team to tweak a bit and get back on the right path.

I'm having a fun time playing with the Orlando Magic, i just currently started the 2012-2013 season. I managed to strip down my team and re-sign D. Howard and signed Chris Paul in the offseason, gone are Gilbert Arenas and Turkoglu.
