Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:
First game of a back to back of DET/then @OKC.
Dirk was listed as "Sluggish" and I had been giving him a large amount of minutes lately so I did my best to manage his minutes at home versus a meddling Detroit team.
The Pistons hung around through 3 qtrs, but Dallas got out to a double digit lead early in the 4th and never looked back. JET had played a lot of minutes through 3 qtrs and wasn't really producing (4pts 2-8 shooting), and so DeShawn Stevenson got a chance to produce off the bench...and produce he did...dropping 14 of his 16 pts in the 4th Qtr.
Dallas wins 106-95... improves to 8-0 at home, and 10-3 overall.
Stats From The Game:
Rip Hamilton -- 34min/22pts/3rebs/3dimes/2stls.
Tayshaun -- 37min/21pts/11rebs/2steals/1blk.
Caron -- 35min/23pts/3rebs/3dimes/3-4 3pt'ers.
Beaubois -- 21min/22pts/1reb/2dimes/4-5 3pt'ers.
DeShawn -- 22min/16pts/2rebs/1dime/6-12 FG.
Dirk -- 27min/13pts/10rebs/1stl/2blks/6-18 FG.
FG%: DET 40%; DAL 48%
3pt%: 41%; DAL 50%
3pt: DET 5/12; DAL 9/18
FT: DET 14/14; DAL 17/19
TOs: DET 4; DAL 11
STLs: DET 9; DAL 3
BLKs: DET 2; DAL 7
PIP: DET 36pts; DAL 32pts
Bench Scoring: DET 23pts; DAL 49ptsComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Correct. Playing as the Mavs in season1 because I like the makeup, and love Dirk and Caron Butler. Could play as them in year 2, or go to using the Wizards (Wall) or the Sixers (Turner)....or some other team that really interests me. Its the way to go IMO.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I can never decide what team to run with...
So, I need the help of the op-sports nation. I start an Association and then decide a couple of games in that I want to switch teams before I'm too invested. (I have a terrible time ordering off of a menu also)
So ---- You pick my team. I won't restart and I'll take any suggestions you make as serious recommendations from my team's "President of Basketball Operations"..
My only request is that it not be the Lakers/Celtics/Heat as I would like to do some rebuilding. I'll run trades by you to. But you pick my team and I'll take them through."I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok." – Shaquille O'NealComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Well I'm doing a 30 team association also, but i control every team and just play the best games of each week. It's pretty fun, but I would rather control one team. But I like to play with different teams to play certain styles and become familiar with every teamComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:
Got my *** handed to me by the Thunder.
2nd game of a back2back, visiting OKC, Dallas lost their 4th of 6 road games so far. It was a blowout as Kevin Durant hung 44 on me. Thunder won 118-91, shooting 49%, and knocking down 10 3pt'ers and shooting 50% from the arch.
Dirk lead Dallas w/ 30pts/6rebs/1stl/1blk, and JET played 31 minutes adding 17 pts. At one point JET had made 3 consecutive 3 pt'ers in the 3rd qtr to cut the Thunder lead to 15 pts, but that would be as close as Dallas could get in the 2nd half.
JJ Barea, who had fallen out of favor in my rotation, played some significant minutes and scored 11 pts. Dirk, Jet, and Barea were the only Mavs who finished in double figures. I also gave DeShawn Stevenson plenty of burn, but he couldn't provide the same spark that he did in the home win over Detroit.
I really need a scoring SF to bring off the bench. Stevenson does not fill that role at all, and the only SFs that I really like playing at the 3 are Caron Butler and Shawn Marion. DeShawn will definitely be on the move at some point. Up next Dallas visits the Spurs... Hopefully the outcome will be a lot better than it was in OKC.Last edited by JBH3; 10-28-2010, 02:08 AM.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
For starters, I'm horrible at this game. Absolutely horrible. I'm playing on Pro/default at the moment and I started a OKC association. 29 game season, 8 min quarters. Well I just picked up my first victory making me... 1-11. Of course, my first victory came against the Clippers. I had 2 4 point losses before, but all the rest were essentially blowout losses for me. My problem is that the game against the clippers was the first game I played where I wasn't absolutely killed on the turnover margin. I was only -4 in that game. It's taken me a lot of time to get used to slowing my pace down and looking for angles. I think before too long I'll turn sim on. I'm hoping to be moderately competent by the end of this season so next season I'll hopefully be able to make the playoffs.
So far I'm getting a lot of whining from Harden. I could increase his minutes, but honestly I like having Sefolosha on the court. He just creates turnovers, and I don't exactly need extra scoring options. I am having a hard time trying to get any sort of low post game going. I'm trying my hand using Aldrich some, and I do rather like him, but I need a lot of work yet.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I'm 1-6 in my Association with the Bulls.
Funny part was, the first game I played (Pistons) Boozer goes down and is out for 4 weeks with an injury. Ever since then, my team has been slumping and now last in the division.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I vote Grizzlies. Man they have potential. They have a good roster for a team that hasnt made the playoffs in 4 years. Build around Rudy Gay + OJ (not to mention an allstar in Zach Randolph and handy center in Marc Gasol) and you have a really deep bench in Tony Allen, Xavier Henry, Hasheem Thabeet etc. Really think you can make a strong roster there with a few good trades. its young, quick and full of good shooters. but its also not 'too easy' considering they have had such a poor record in recent years. good balance of challenge v possibility of actually winning."I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money.
