Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Just lost 100 to 97 to the Heat in a game I was DOMINATING in the first half - Greanger scored 30 and Garnett had a solid game as well. Lebron was unstoppable when the 4th quarter rolled around.
Ending a 4 game road trip (1-2 so far) in Memphis, thankfully.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Currently using the Heat made a few trades
Heat got: 2011 1st and Carroll
Bobcats got: Chalmers and Anthony
Heat got: K. Perkins, Splitter
Bos. got: 2011 Heat 1st, 2012 Heat 2nd, 2011 Spurs 2nd.and Stackhouse
Spurs got: Haslem. and Celtics 2012 2nd
So my lineup is
PG:Arroyo
SG:Wade
SF:LeBron
PF:Bosh
C:Perkins
Bench
6Miller
7House
8Splitter
9Jones
10Pittman
I'm also thinking about tweaking Bosh tendecies, so he will spend more time in the post. As he plays now in the games kind of pisses me off. Either that or trade him to ATL for Josh Smith. He may not be a great scorers like Bosh but he is a better Defender esp..blocking shots and rebounding is a wash between the two. Plus Smith plays with a mean streak which i like from my Bigs, hence the reason i traded for Perkins.
Traded Haslem!!! Your not a real Heat fan. Sacralidge!!!! Haslem is the lunch pail guy on this team.
NEVER!
But you really did improve the team. LOL.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Question....what's the best way for the cpu teams to make decisions realistically when it comes to lineups, simulation, trading, roles, contracts, etc.? If I'm controlling all 30 teams but really focused on just one team in particular, should I control any tasks for cpu teams?Comment

Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:<O</O
<O</O
Dec 4th in my association, faced off w/ the Kings @ Arco.<O</O
<O</O
Was a close game throughout. Dallas went on runs, and there were stretches where my Mavs would be up by 11 or 12 pts. These stretches of the game were typically when Landry, Tyreke, and/or Casspi rested; which shows that this SAC team lacks some depth to hang w/ the big boys.<O</O
<O</O
However, that core of Casspi/Landry/Tyreke played big minutes which in this contest which eventually kept it close.<O</O
<O</O
1st Qtr Scores: 30-29 Dallas
2nd Qtr Scores: 20-19 Dallas
3rd Qtr Scores: 28-27 Dallas
4th Qtr Scores: 22-23 SAC<O</O
<O</O
^As you can see a close game. Final score was 100-98 Dallas. Sac had the ball w/ 4.4 seconds left, and a chance to tie or win, but Donte Greene's shot to tie clanked off the rim.<O</O
<O</O
JET got the start at SG w/ Caron moving over to SF and Matrix coming off the bench; Matrix had played 35 minutes in a blowout win over Utah so I wanted to limit his minutes some as all my other starters rested after the 3rd qtr in that Utah win. <O</O
<O</O
Individual Stats:
Dirk: 33pts/11rebs/3asts/1stl/15-28FG/3-3FT/36min.
Kidd: 5pts/9asts/2-9FG/1-5 3pt/37min.<O</O
<OMatrix: 13pts/5rebs/3asts/1blk/6-6FG/1-1FT/25min.</O
<O</O
<OLandry: 26pts/8rebs/1ast/1stl/1blk/11-18FG/4-6FT 32min.</O
<OTyreke: 19pts/1reb/7asts/2stls/9-14FG/0 FTAs/38min.</O
<OCasspi: 18pts/3ast/7-13FG/2-4 3pt/41min.</O
<OUdrih: 12pts/1reb/6asts/2stls/5-11FG/2-3 3pt/34mins</O
<O</O
<ODonte Greene came off the bench, and was hot playing 11 minutes from the end of the 3rd qtr through the 4th qtr. Midway through the 4th qtr though the CPU brought Casspi back in, and Greene, although his shot meter was pulsating red, was sent to the bench. Had the CPU left him in he probably would've killed me even more and ran away with the game as I was slumping at that point.</O
<O</O
<ODallas did a good job limiting the turnovers. This was one of the few games where I had less than 10 turnovers, only turning it over 7 times; SAC only committed 3 turnovers. Dallas once again was stroking it, finishing w/ an efficient 50% team FG%, while SAC wasn't too far behind w/ 48%. Sacremento kept it close w/ good three pt shooting. Taking 10 shots from beyond the arc, and connecting w/ 5 of them for a 50% clip.

Next...will post the 3-team deal I worked for Nawlins, Detroit, and Charlotte.</OOriginally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
hey guys,
i'm from germany and got this game since yesterday. its ****ing awesome!!
so i started an association with the blazers(roy 4tw!).
Does someone did this too? Can you give me some tips for the trades?
i thought about trading miller and camby, but i'm not really an expert of the nba to say which player could help or not =/
do you have other suggestions respective trades to boost up my team?
thx!
As for Miller, he is certainly trade-bait. His lack of an outside shot diminishes his value to the user (or at least to me personally). If you absolutely wanted to make a deal, I would see what you can find via the trade finder for Miller. Looking for a young backup PF or PG and a draft pick. Starting either Johnson or Mills at PG (in addition to Roy playing some minutes at PG) would allow you to draft a PG during the offseason.
Just a minor confession. Give A Johnson some run at PG. I am starting to develop a slight man-crush on Johnson as my Blazers PG of the future. In my association he is averaging nearly 4 assist per game in just over 11 minutes. I have no intentions of picking up the team option for next year on Miller so in season 2 Johnson will take the reigns at PG.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:<O</O
<O</O
With the Hornets struggling in my association, and also losing Emeka Okafor early on to a broken foot for 8 weeks...Made a 3-team deal to try and salvage the Hornets season, and also help out a couple of other teams in the process; who either needed to clear cap space or add a piece to the puzzle.
Hornets are 5-15 and in the cellar in the west through the 1st week of December. They are really down, but not out and have recently lost a string of close games; mainly due to trotting out Aaron Gray out at the starting 5, and dealing w/ injuries and a lack of depth in the frontcourt.
Pistons have started 6-15 and lack a great deal of chemistry. They've got some young guys who need minutes, but some vets w/ big contracts that are blocking their way.
The Bobcats are 12-9 and playing great D, but are lacking scoring as they sit 3rd worst in the league in PPG. Their defense has propeled them so far, but adding some offensive punch will greatly help them move from 8th in the east (and one in done in the 1st round) to a possible 2nd rd playoff push.
THE DEAL:
Hornets Get: Ben Wallace (DET), Charlie Villanueva (DET), and Jason Maxiell (DET).
Pistons Get: Peja (NO), Jason Smith (NO), 2011 1st & 2nd Rd picks (NO), SG Gerald Henderson (CHA), PF/C Kwame Brown (CHA), and a 2011 2nd Rd pick from Charlotte.
Bobcats Get: Rodney Stuckey.
Hornets get Big Ben who can start at center till Okafor comes back, and add two big men that are MUCH needed since the Hornets lack frontcourt depth.
Pistons get a $13 mil expiring contract in Peja, another deal that expires w/ Jason Smith ($2+ mil), two 2nd rd picks, & a 1st Rd Nawlins pick (which could still be a lotto pick if this deal doesn't work out for Nawlins).
Coming from Charlotte, Detroit gets SG Gerald Henderson who seems to fit better on a Detroit team that isn't going anywhere, and backup Kwame Brown reunites with Detroit.
Altogether Detroit will have $29 mil in cap space to use in the offseason. Do they go after Melo? The guy they should've drafted over Darko? Who knows. But now they have the cap room to do so. They will also be able to get solid minutes for rookie Center Gregg Monroe, and youngsters Austin Daye, DeJuan Summers, and Will Bynum. Jonas Jerebko is out for another couple of weeks with an injury, but he will continue to see consistent minutes too.
As for Charlotte, they get Rodney Stucky for next to nothing. The Pistons couldn't leverage anymore because teams know that they didn't want to re-sign Stuckey longterm. So Detroit cuts their losses, and moves Stuckey for Henderson and Brown and a CHA 2nd rounder.
Now Charlotte will have to decide if THEY want to sign Stuckey for big money longterm. Stuckey is averaging 18.5 ppg while shooting 44% from the field, but DJ Augustin has been playing solid ball too. Bobcats coach Larry Brown has stated that "Rodney will come off the bench to start, but will still see at least 30 minutes a night". Shaun Livingston has really struggled, and he would be no threat to steal any minutes away from Stuckey. Charlotte will be running w/ a 9-man rotation with Tyrus Thomas, Stuckey, Diop, and Najera getting all the backup minutes.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Essentially I did what we THOUGHT this AI was going to do. I saw that DET wasn't going anywhere, has no team chemistry, has player/personnel contracts that just don't go along etc. Then I tried to find a home for Stuckey. I though about the Lakers for a minute because it would net more expiring contracts for DET to get someone like Vujacic. Instead I looked at what team needed scoring according to TEAM STATs.
I sorted the PPGs to show which team lacked team scoring, and POOF there were the Bobcats sticking out like a sore thumb w/ a real need for backcourt depth.
^This is essentially a formula for making deals happen, and keeping this experience fresh/renewed.
Now I actually kinda want to play as the Hornets, and see if I can dig them out of this hole. Although the Bobcats and Pistons really interest me now too....Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
i recently simulated a season with the 10-29 2k rosters untouched, with no settings changed whatsoever, and all i can say is WOW
HEAT vs LAKERS in the NBA FINALS
LAKERS had home court and won in 6
was just a quick sim (for kix) but was very interesting, realistic, and coolGO HEAT
GO RAYS
GO BUCS
GO GATORS

Check out my first non-Mavs deal above....Its really fun when you do things like this, think it through, and build/breakdown teams.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
in real life that trade would never have went through. with 30 teams there is really no way to make it realistic because ou kind of making trades that the computer wouldnt do. only way to go realistic is controllin one teamComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Thinking about doing this trade...thoughts?
Bulls (Me) get:
Melo
76ers get:
Deng
1st Rounder
James Johnson
Nuggets get:
Iguodala
1st Rounder
Boozer (or Gibson)
I'll admit....IF I did decide to do this trade, only way to pull it off is to trade override it because Melo is almost impossible to trade for (at least with the Bulls). However, I wouldn't feel as bad doing it if it was a fair trade and its something I feel would happen in real life. That is where you guys come in....thoughts?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
My mancrush on anthony randolph only grows.
Just hammered the lakers in la 88-66 I'm playing 9 minutes quarters and randolph goes for 31 6 boards 4 blocks. He hurt bynum on a drive and was 12-12 from the free throw line forcing gasol to play 16 minutes. I was down 37-36 at the half then became an unstoppable force. I even held kobe to 12 points.
Viva el randolpho!!
