Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Starting off badly in Detroit with my Pistons. I am currently 0-3 with every loss being 10+ points including the loss to the Nets. The lack of a solid post game on offense has hurt me. After seeing the same problems rise up through all three games, I decided I was going to try and get some players out of Detroit and bring some new ones in even if it required some big trades.
I started off by cutting my roster down to 12 players. I had three Cs and Three SGs. Then I looked around the league for some players I wanted to try and get. I wanted to get rid of Ben Wallace for another C. I saw an article on the NBA Headlines that said Shaw announced he would retire after the season. So I thought I might try and get him since his value would probably lower with that announcement. After a lot of tries and deals, the Celtics and I finally agreed on a trade. I didn't like giving up my pick, but here is the trade.
Pistons Trade:
Ben Wallace 74 OVR (C) 36 Yrs Old
Tracy McGrady 73 OVR (SG) 31 Yrs Old
Chris Wilcox 62 OVR (C) 28 Yrs Old D Potential
2011 1st Round Pick
Celtics Trade:
Shaquille O'Neal 77 OVR (C) 38 Yrs Old
Glen Davis 67 OVR (PF) 24 Yrs Old B- Potential
Avery Bradly 65 OVR (SG) 19 Yrs Old A Potential
Von Wafer 61 OVR (PG) 25 Yrs Old B- Potential
So, was this a good trade?Last edited by canes21; 10-09-2010, 06:25 PM.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I'm about half way through my first year with Portland. I did some trades before the season started to add a semi-descent SF and also a depth defensively in the post, as well as a SF/SG swingman who could cover both positions if needed.
I wouldn't usually trade for Hamilon, but he was the best option offered. I always somehow try and get Wallace. He might not score all that much, but a user controlled Wallace is a beast defensively in the post.
I also wanted to free up some cap space this coming off-season.
So here's my lineup...
Trades:
Blazers - M. Camby and J.Przybilla
for
Pistons - R. Hamilton and B. Wallace
Blazers - N. Batum and '11 1st rd pick
for
Pistons - T. McGrady
Blazers - E.Williams (Rookie)
for
Cavs - '11 1st rd pick and '12 1st rd pick
Lineup:
pg - A. Miller
sg - B. Roy
sf - R. Hamilton
pf - L. Aldridge
c - G. Oden
6th - T. McGrady
7 - B. Wallace
8 - R. Fernandez
9 - J. Bayless
10 - W. Mathews
11 - P. Mills
12 - L. Babbitt
I've been working on Babbitt and this man is going to do big things for the Blazers considering he wants to re-sign. At the moment his potential is at 80 and will get a boost in the off-season if I have enough points.
My only regret is, as in real life, T-mac is getting injured all the time for long periods, lol....we held several meetings to discuss the future of the franchise. After going through those meetings, it became very clear that the vision I had for the game was different from where the leadership wanted to take it. I parted ways with EA shortly after...Comment

If you were getting Gortat and Reddick than I wouldn't trade all three of those guys (Deng, Johnson, and Taj). The RJ and Splitter deal would be great for the Bulls.Chicago Bulls
Chicago Bears

Started one with the Wiz too.. Currently tied for 4th in the East.
Got rid of Gil though..
Gil became--> Salmons, Tyson Chandler, JJ Barrea and the Mavs 2nd Rd pick
Hinrich was involved in the deal too
Gave us a lot more depth and made us taller.. Much better defensive team, as well as rebounding which means we're much better on the break too.. We're only rated 68 overall, but win or lose, we're giving everybody some good bump::
The only player in which I'm not confident in using is Nick Young, but other than that I've loving the production I'm seeing. So at the moment I'm not going to really disrupt what we got going.Comment

Good idea, what do you think Richard Jefferson and Splitter? Or Gortat and Reddick, I was also considering Micheal Redd but I don't like to trade within the division (helps the competition lol)Currently playing:

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I picked the Knicks for my association. Wish more people on here are doing the NYK.
I am 2-2 through 4 with my wins coming over Toronto and Orlando. I beat Toronto handily but Orlando hung with me for a while and Vince Carter is just a BEAST. Howard and Nelson played terrible but the announcers showed their stats for their previous game and they played great the night before.
I lost Felton AND Amaure withing two minutes of each other. They are both out 2 weeks. Im pretty much screwed for the next two weeks. My only other offense is through Randolph who is definitely a future superstar.
My question to you guys, in what realistic sim way can I land Melo? Im trying to trade for San Antonio's 1st rounder and use it to acquire Melo from Denver but they are asking for SO much.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I'm 4 games into my Knicks association. I'm just SO excited to run around with them. No more waste of time players on the Knicks. These guys are solid franchise pieces for the future.
However, I'm not feeling Ray Felton too much. (Of course, IRL I will love him on the Knicks. Just not in my fantasy realm of 2K11)
So I put up Felton + Curry to see who out there would bite. The Wizards offer me Arenas. VERY interesting. So I take it. I figure Arenas is due for a bounce back (barring injuries) and with a tandem of him and Amare in their prime, it allows support players like Gallo, Chandler and Randolph to continue to grow. Not to mention Mozgov and Douglas on the bench.
So after destroying Toronto in the first game, then losing to Boston in the 2nd, Ray Felton leaves the Knicks. Whilst he had a good game, I need a game changer to pair with Amare. (i'm not going to cheat and force a carmelo trade. plus i LOVE Gallo)
Lose the next game against Portland because Roy went off, but Arenas is a beast. Him and Amare in this game clicked straight away. Although Chandler and Randolph are now reduced to role players, they still do their thing (defense and rebounding).
2nd game at MSG against the Magic. And Gallo comes out firing. Hits 5/6 in the 1st with 2 3's and a 3-point play for 13 points. Arenas controls the tempo, Amare controls the boards. End up winning 103-91 behind 28 points from Gallo.
Can't say how much I'm loving the Knicks in Association. Pity Bull Walker is whinging about minutes......he could find himself on the block before too long.
Oh, and if the Knicks trade for Carmelo IRL......i'll be restarting this association :-)Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Gahh! Almost won my first game finally. The trade looked like a good move for me as Shaq started off hot with 20 points in the 1st half. Then in the 2nd half the Celtics doubled him up when the ball was thrown to him. He didn't score at all in the 3rd quarter. Then he finally got moving in the 4th again and finished with around 30. Great performance for Shaq and it looked like it was going to get me my first W finally, but with 25 seconds left I was up 83-82. I gave Shaq the ball, they had three guys cover him! I saw a wide open Hamilton coming down the baseline, I tried passing it to him, but Shaq dishes it to Prince instead on the perimeter, they intercept that pass, McGrady gets payback and dunks it with 8.8 seconds left and the lead. I then proceed down court, realize I have no timeouts and panic and shoot, but miss. I fouled KG, but its too late as there was only 2.4 seconds left for me to go down court and nail a three. I inbound it to Stockey throw it to Vileneuva, he shoots the three to beat the buzzer, it bounces off rim and I lose.
Such a great game. At least I hung with the Celtics I guess. The Shaq trade was a good move to give me someone at the Center position for the year. I am going to try and draft a C to take Shaq's spot when he retires. Such a frustrating game I should have capped off, but the games passing mechanic had a flunk and cost me.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I'm gunning for the Danny Granger trade, I was actually looking at Gilbert Arenas (ima fan lol) but Danny Granger seems a little more realistic.Currently playing:
