Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Had to start over my all-30 association since I had mistakenly left "Player Trading" On.
Started over, making sure that setting in assoc. custimization was turned off.
Still running w/ the Mavs, and won my first 2 games; home games vs CHA and MEM....both double digit victories. Simmed my 1st road game w/ the Clipps and lost by 17. Played the next road game in Denver, and lost by 5 118-113. Melo hung 45 on me, and Brendan Haywood went down with an injury; OUT 2-4 weeks.
Through 4 games I am 2-2. Dirk is avg'ing 31 and 12, and Caron and Marion are avg'ing 18 and 15 respectively. Roddy Beaubois is a very nice piece, and he's avg'ing 11 off the bench for me...shooting very well from 3 too.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I started one with the wizards
immediately traded away arenas we are going to rebuild. I also downloaded the projected 2011 draft classes. perry jones, harison barnes were on my radar but I din't want to bottom out so I added iverson for one year to replace arenas free up cap space for carmelo anthony. After about a month of losing nearly every game and iverson helping not at all I traded him too so now I'm armed with 2 firsts and we suck. draft lottery hits and I end up getting 1,4,6
I turn that into barnes, jones, motiejunas. I move jones to small forward.
opening day starting 5
pg-wall
sg-barnes
sf-jones
pf-motiejunas
c-mcgee
6-hinrich
7-young
8-blatche
we are 6-0 playing 9 minute quarters on pro I have been hammering teams so I've started practicing my post moves and quick play calls
yi jianlian is on the block, 8 million a year for 10 minutes per game is ********.
so I'll be looking for an extra first and use that to bolster my post players and find a small forward that can chew up some minutes from perry. John wall has moved from being a scoring option to being the 4th option on my team. Javelle mcgee is amazing. I am in love with him. he's averaging 5 blocks per game over 10 boards and around 9 points.
So I drafted my big 3 already having a big 1 but wall is now a pass first set up the offense and feed jones and barnes guy, he's averaging about 12 assists per game and 8-10 pointsComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I haven't been able to get an Association going for the past two years, and I really want to this year, so I'm going to go with the 29 game season. Now, I just need to pick a team!Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
You can play 82 games in a season, just play one yourself and sim the other one, believe me it's the best way to play Association, in a day you can play about 4 or 5 games doing that, try it...Comment

Is it just me, or is everyone else getting annoyed at the AI near the end of games? I swear it is like they know exactly where the ball is going and no matter how good of D I play they always draw a foul or hit some kind of ridiculous contested shot. It is driving me crazy.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I'm running with the Nets
PG: Harris
SG: Morrow
SF: Outlaw
PF: Murphy
C: Lopez
6th: Terrance Williams
Role player / prospect Derrick Favors
My plan is to leave this team intact for the time being. Williams will be playing just as many minutes as Morrow at sg and backing up outlaw at the 3. Once i get his outside shooting up he's going to be my starting 2 guard and the player i will be building around offensively. I'm also going to work on developing Favors and will be looking to start him in year 2. I dropped Damion James down to the D league so he can get some playing time and to make playing the d league games more fun. I'll probably bring him up if i get hit with injuries or by next year if he improves enough.
Can anyone give me any tips about getting past the low post offense drill? I am trying to build up Favors inside scoring but he is so raw that i have virtually no chance of scoring enough times to get any boost. I need 1210 points so at 100 points per shot i need to hit 13 out of 20 shots from the low post which is very hard when he has limited skills and not much of a jumpshot to speak of.
I also need a better back up center as Johan Petro is a bit of a stiff so far for me. Might look to free agency for that.
Also does anyone else not like the trade finder thingy? Sure it's convenient but how realistic is it to have 28 offers when you put a player up for trade instantly. I think i preferred the 2k10 version where you could sit them on the trading block as that seemed more realistic than an instant 20+ offers like it is now. Overall i am loving association and the game so far though.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
my 90s knickslast in the division, currently on a 3 game losing streak..
Power Ranked 15th
29 game season.. not sure how the NBA playoff teams are decided ie: in the NFL the top 6? usually makes it in but right now I'm tied for 11th in the conference so if the playoffs begun today I'd be out
hoping to catch fire and get in playoff contention.. damnComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Just started an Association with the Wizards, and I'm just loving their roster. Before I started my Association, I went in with a mind frame in wanting to trade Arenas, but after playing my first two games I just don't see that happening, yet.
In my first game against Orlando we won 93 - 80. John Wall played amazing, and ended the game with 28 points and 11 assists. Blatche and Arenas had great games as well (Blatche - 17 points & 13 Boards / Arenas - 13 Points & 12 Assists). I'm also loving the Athleticism of McGee, which came in very useful against Dwight Howard and Gortat. As a team we played well defensively forcing Orlando to take a lot of outside shots, and when they're off, they're off. Orlando shot around 35% for the game.
We didn't have much luck in our 2nd game against the Hawks, but at least we stayed competitive. Blatche went off during the game with 29 Points & 20 Rebounds, but it wasn't enough. We ended up losing 103 - 95. We entered the 4th Quarter down 15 and made a nice comeback, but Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby were shooting lights out the whole game. It was hard enough for us to keep up with the scoring, but once we put the pressure on in the 4th we caused plenty of turnovers that helped us mount some sort of comeback.
The Wizards are an amazingly fun team to play with. I'm just loving the ability to use a 3 guard set, and Yi is a pretty versatile big man who gives us some very good quality minutes off the bench. McGee looks like he is going to grow into a stud much like Blatche has been showing thus far this season. Still uncertain as to what I should do with Arenas, but at this moment I'm leaning towards keeping him on the roster.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Started one with the Wiz too.. Currently tied for 4th in the East.
Got rid of Gil though..
Gil became--> Salmons, Tyson Chandler, JJ Barrea and the Mavs 2nd Rd pick
Hinrich was involved in the deal too
Gave us a lot more depth and made us taller.. Much better defensive team, as well as rebounding which means we're much better on the break too.. We're only rated 68 overall, but win or lose, we're giving everybody some good bump::Comment
