Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just beat the Heat, 110-89. Now I'm currently 4-0 with my Nets.

This my lineup for my 2010-2011 Nets:

    PG: D. Harris / J. Farmar
    SG: A. Morrow / Q. Ross
    SF: T. Outlaw / P. Geroge / D. James
    PF: T. Murphy / D. Favors
    C: B. Lopez / S. May

I forgot the other C I have on my reserve list.
    I traded T. Willams + '12 1st round pick for P. George + '11 2nd round pick.

My wizards are now 9-4 or so. Beaubois is out for 2-4 weeks so I signed Jake Robinson sharp shooter from fa(A- from out)

      Heres my rotation:
      PG: Wall/Hinrich
SG: Young/Robinson/Hinrich(sometimes) Beaubois starts when he gets back
      SF: Shawn Marion/Josh Howard
      pf: Blatche/YI
      C: Mcgee/nazr mohammad/nijia(or whatever his name is)
      Magic Dynasty

I tried re-creating the rumored Melo-to-Nets deal but couldn't get Denver to bite, even though I had all 3 sides matched up in the cap.

        Denver gets:
        Devin Harris
        Derrick Favors
        Nets 1st round pick

        NJ gets:
        Carmelo Anthony
Ty Lawson (had to give him up b/c the trade wouldn't work at all with Billups and/or Harrington)
        Richard Hamilton

        Detroit gets:
        Troy Murphy

Each time I offer it, Denver says no.

So I just passed the All-Star break. I was really excited to play the All-Star game because a few weeks before, it looked like Josh Smith would start and Horford and Joe Johnson would be reserves. I stopped looking at the votes, especially when Horford had a huge voting lead of Brook Lopez. Smith and Johnson both missed a couple of weeks with injuries, so Horford's numbers were great during their absence.

THEY ALL THREE GOT SNUBBED! Smith is in the running for DPOTY, damn it. Well, we took that fire and put it to good use and beat the #1 Power Ranking Lakers (dunno why they are above the Heat). Kobe was like 6-20 courtesy of Jamal Crawford's stifling defense.

The Louis Williams trade has been good and bad. Losing Marvin Williams has really hurt my rotation because I have a lot of solid PFs on the bench and no good SFs. I mostly use Johnson and Josh Smith at the 3, taking one out early to rest them. Brackins has been a nice edition and is emerging as my best big man off the bench (Leon Powe is getting unhappy, which sucks because he played well before he got hurt...and Josh Powell played really well when Powe was hurt and now Powell is hurt and now Brackins plays well...what a mess). Louis is playing well and seems like a future PG (sixth man for now), although he plays a bit more like Crawford than a pure PG.

          PG: Bibby/L. Williams
          SG: Crawford/L. Williams/ Jo. Crawford
          SF: Johnson/Smith/Damion Wilkins
          PF: Smith/Horford/Brackins/Powe/Powell (inj)
          C: Horford/Pachulia/Powe

5th in the East right now, hoping to have a good and healthier second half. Anybody got any ideas on what to do with all my PFs?
I usually like to run with no more than 12 players or even 11 in some cases and sign guys only if anyone on team gets hurt. You should trade the PF's for 2nd round draft picks or package them for an expiring contract.

Season 2 of my association with the Bulls. Using the mega set arena sounds, geebos rosters (newest update), and the purist 3.0 sliders (awesome btw... hard as $#!^.. but awesome)

              My line-up:

              C-M. Speights
              PF- Blake Griffin
              SF- Mike Beasly
              SG- Andre Igoudala
              PG- D. Rose

I think thats a pretty sick line-up, we'll see how it holds up after i have to re-sign these guys..

Yeah, I know but there's only so many spots available in the trade screen. If you try and do smaller trades, it doesn't work at all.

I need to plug Morrow into the equation and see if that helps at all, and maybe move Petro to Denver and then make a separate deal to ship him to Det.?

Just started a association with the Mavs. Love playing with them. in my last game againt the Kings, Terry had like 28 points off the bench nailing 6 3s. I'm looking to trade Marion. I can't stand his release. Also trying to inject some youth into my rotation since mostly all of my main guys are over 30. Thought about trying to get someone to bite on a Kid / Marion / 1st rounder for someone good.

Any help or ideas for me from you fellow Mavs users.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Hey all - I've really enjoyed reading about all of your associations, and I just finished up the 2010-2011 season with my Washington Wizards, so I figured I'd give you guys an update, and let you see what you think.

I play full 12 minute quarters, All-Star difficulty, default sliders. I played about 66% of my games in this season (I only really started simulating towards the end when I was out of contention, to get to the draft).

Anyway, my Wizards finished up a respectable 33-49, which was good for dead last in the Eastern Conference's Southeast division, and third worst in the conference as a whole. This garnered me the 7th pick in the 2011 draft.

After Dallas defeated Miami in 7 games to win the NBA Championship on the strength of a strong series from the wily vets Kidd and Dirk, I entered the NBA Draft with a purpose...

But, before I go there, I'll give a brief overview of some trades I made over the course of the season...

I made a three team trade with Minnesota and Sacramento, which sent Josh Howard to Minny, Sundiata Gaines to Sacramento, and Sacramento's 2011 Second Round Pick and Wayne Ellington to me in Washington.

I traded Kevin Seraphin straight up to New Jersey for their 2011 Second Round Pick.

Then, I traded those two picks, and a D-Leaguer I had signed to Dallas for their 2011 First Round Pick.

Late in the season, after falling out of contention, I targeted Jared Dudley as the first piece in building Washington's future, and acquired him and Phoenix's 2012 2nd Round Pick in exchange for JaVale McGee.

On draft day, I had the 7th Pick, the 30th Pick (From Dallas), and the 10th Pick in the Second Round.

I made a draft day trade with Golden State, sending Kirk Hinrich and my 2012 Second Rounder in exchange for Louis Amundson and their 2011 Pick (18th Overall).

                        I drafted the following:

                        7th) Enes Kanter, C - Turkey
                        18th) Demetri McCamey, G - Illinois
                        30th) Xavier Gibson, F - FSU
                        R2 10th) Malcolm Delaney, G - VT

My one free agent signing was Chris Douglas-Roberts...Yi Jianlian left the team in free agency.

So, heading into the 11-12 season my roster was set to look like this...

                        PG - John Wall
                        SG - Nick Young
                        SF - Jared Dudley
                        PF - Rashard Lewis
                        C - Andray Blatche

                        Bench:

                        Chris Douglas-Roberts
                        Enes Kanter
                        Louis Amundson
                        Demetri McCamey
                        Trevor Booker
                        Hamady N'diaye
                        Wayne Ellington
                        Xavier Gibson

I was very happy with the roster I put together, and I had a stellar draft...I really felt like I was going to be able to lead Washington into the 4th-6th seed, but Andray Blatche broke his wrist in the pre-season, putting him out for over a month.

In the 2nd game of the season, Dudley sprained his knee, putting him out of the starting lineup for a little while as well.

So, through 6 games (3 against Miami, Boston, and New York) I am 2-4, but I really feel like the team is gelling, and I'm hoping for big things when they get healthy.

                            My Year 2 Knicks roster(2011-12):

                            Starters: R.Felton, W.Chandler, D.Gallinari, A.Stoudemire, R.Turiaf

                            Bench: T.Douglas, L.Fields, K.Azubuike, A.Randolph, E.Curry, T.Mozgov, R***bio(rookie)

                            Reserves: B.Walker, R.Mason, C.Wright(rookie)

I would start Moz over Turiaf if he wasn't so bad at finishing inside. His close range game needs a lot of work.

Knicks are rated 84 overall, and are off to a 11-2 start, led by last season's MVP Amar'e Stoudemire. My bench is sweet, with Fields, Randolph and Curry lighting it up.

What are your Association rules? I have a rule with all my 2K Associations and Madden franchises - Year 1, I don't make any moves. I play with the cards I'm dealt with. I don't do any trades either. I shut them off. I like developing my players, and building through free agency and the draft. It's more fun that way than trading to build a super team, IMO. I know I'm crazy, but I don't want Carmelo Anthony. I'm going to make Wilson Chandler into that "number 2" star. So far, it's working.

Just found a good trade except you have to give up another PG if wanted.

                              Jason Kidd
                              Caron Butler
                              1st Round 2010 Mavs
                              Rodrique Beaubois

                              Rudy Gay
                              Hasheem Thabeet.

Maybe Thabeet isnt in your plans, but he has size to contend with most centers.

Another trade I found that would work is

                              Kidd
                              Butler
                              1st Rounder
                              Tyson Chandler

                              Joe Johnson
                              Jamal Crawford

Crawford would be good at point, but Johnson is 29 and Crawford 30. Not exactly the young addition to the rotation you wanted.

I'm currently in the 3rd season with my rebuilt Clippers franchise. Went 27-2 (most played, some simmed) and matched up with the Nets in the 2013 NBA finals.

                                PG - Eric Gordon/Seth Curry/C.J. Watson
                                SG - James Harden/Vince Carter
                                SF - Harrison Barnes/Jamario Moon/Mindaugas Kuzminskas
                                PF - Blake Griffin/Antonio McDyess
                                C - Donatas Montiejunas/Desagana Diop

I got really lucky to land Harrison Barnes. I traded Eric Bledsoe and Chris Kamen to the Thunder for Harden and their 1st round pick and somehow the Thunder missed the playoffs. They had a .5% chance at the 1st pick and landed at number 2. Since his loyalty is 'Not Loyal' does that mean he always leaves after his contract is up? If so I might just sign him to the 2yr extension and cut my losses by trading him so I get something for him. I'm looking to trade up in the upcoming draft to pick up Marcus Jordan anyway. Harden i'm probably going to have to let go because he wants way too much and I just can't keep him, Gordon and Griffin. Carter will be gone next year but I've always liked him so I traded for him to give him a championship before he retires. I'm definitely looking forward to next season though. It should be interesting.
