Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Ok im the cavs in my first season I'm not gonna wait for FA to start rebuilding I trade Varejo for blake griffin from LAC. Then i traded mo williams and larry hughes to denver for carmelo. Im not done yet either. I trade first round pick and samuels to portland for greg oden so my starting line up looks like this

PG/ Daniel Gibson (Who is on fire with me 3PT% is .812)
SG/ Anthony Parker (Who is doing well at three's also)
SF/ Carmelo Anthony (Averages 33 ppg, 11 apg, 7 rpg.)
PF/ Blake Griffin (Who is unstoppable in the paint.)
C/ Greg Oden (Who hopefully will stay injury free and has been very helpful in post defense.)

I ended up 69-15 because blake and oden were out for 4 weeks with shoulder injury in those weeks i went 5-7 so if all my starters are healthy i was unstoppable i got 1st seed in east got to the finals and won with a buzzard beater in 6 game series against the lakers carmelo hit a deep three while double team it was sick!!!! in the off seaso im looking to deal Oden and anthony parker for evan turner and Marriese speights because oden's durrability is way to low now? what u guys think?

Right now i'm on a 23 win streak in my Blazers assoc with Roy averaging 26ppg. Ive simmed most of these winnings without saving and only have a problem with Hibbert who's asking for more minutes.

My main reason for posting is because, after looking at the transaction history, I saw that the Magic acquired J. Richardson for S. Telfair.

Thought this was interesting considering it happened in the real world, lol.
...we held several meetings to discuss the future of the franchise. After going through those meetings, it became very clear that the vision I had for the game was different from where the leadership wanted to take it. I parted ways with EA shortly after...

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I'm winding down my 1st season in my Spurs association. I play 12 min quarters and sim probably 50-60% of the time if I had to guess. I use personel slider tweaks and play on pro or all-star. I'm in the finals 0-0 with the Heat. Me and the Mavs went 60-22, the Heat 58-24. Some how the Mavs got home court... but I've been real hot with my new Spurs team so I beat them quickly 4-1. I set out at the begining of the season with a plan to draft Perry Jones SF Baylor 6'11" 235. But I also wanted to see what I allready had. I also needed to practice with the Spurs base roster to understand playbooks, personel and things of that nature. I really like the Spurs roster but came across some deals I couldn't resist. These moves not only would get me in a good draft position(basically #1 or #2 overall) to draft Perry Jones but would immediatley improve my team and put my personal stamp on my dynasty. So here's a list of transactions and a quick roster rundown.

Spurs(me) sign Ime Udoka... Defense and depth
Spurs sign Erik Dampier... Defense and depth

Spurs trade 2011-1st rd, 2012-1s rd
Suns trade 2011-1st rd... This move was to hopefully insure the top pick in the draft, Phoenix was doing horrible. It worked

Spurs trade DeJuan Blair, Matt Bonner, Chris Quin
Warriors trade Ekpe Odoh(another Baylor guy),Louis Amundson, Jeremy Lin

Spurs trade Louis Amundson, Jeremy Linn, Antonio McDyess, 2011-2nd rd
Nets trade Damion James(Hook em'!), Kris Humphries, Johan Petro

Spurs trade Kris Humphries, Johan Petro
Clippers trade Brian Cook, 2012-2nd rd... Just dumping players and picking up draft picks from bad teams

and right before the trade deadline...

Spurs trade Richard Jefferson, Ekpe Udoh
Bobcats trade Gerald Wallace, Matt Carroll, 2011-2nd rd... this was a big trade. I didn't want o get rid of those 2 guys but obviously I couldn't pass on Wallace, and another draft pick

Spurs sign Sean Williams PF... Defense and depth

        Line up

        5-Splitter Prospect
        4-Duncan Starter
        3-Wallace Starter
        2-Ginobli Starter
        1-Parker Starter

        6-Hill PG/SG 6th man
        7-Damion James SF/PF Role Player
        8-James Anderson SG/SF Prospect
        9-Dampier C Bench warmer
        10-Sean Williams PF/C Bench warmer
        11- Udoka SF/PF/SG Bench warmer
        12-Gary Neal SG/PG
        Res-Carroll
        Res-Cook

I play Wallace at the 3 and 4. I love his defense and his versatility. Hill can be a beast of the bench and will be my starting combo guard of the future. Damion James is one of my favs. His jumper is great and he is also versatile like Wallace. James and Wallace are my defensive specialists. Splitter is solid. I have no problem catching fire with James Anderson. All these great additions and role players and I still retain the big 3(Manu, Duncan and Parker), while still setting myself up to draft Perry Jones. Hopefully this will make my transitions easier when Duncan and Ginobili retire. GO SPURS GO!

          Rodrique Beaubois

          Rudy Gay
          Hasheem Thabeet.

Maybe Thabeet isnt in your plans, but he has size to contend with most centers.

Another trade I found that would work is

          Kidd
          Butler
          1st Rounder
          Tyson Chandler

          Joe Johnson
          Jamal Crawford

Crawford would be good at point, but Johnson is 29 and Crawford 30. Not exactly the young addition to the rotation you wanted.
Yeah those trades work but I don't think they are that realistic. Johnson signed a massive 6 year dealfor the max amount and correct me if i'm wrong but didnt' Gay just sign an extension?

Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:

The 2010-11 Dallas Mavericks have advanced to the NBA Finals.

After a 1st Rd ousting by the San Antonio Spurs the year prior, the Mavericks faced off against the Spurs... this time the stakes THAT much higher as only 4 wins seperated either team from being one step closer to a championship.

The Mavs entered the series firing on all cylinders, coming of a series win in 6-games against the Thunder in the Qtr-Finals.

San Antonio faced off with the Lakers who they defeated in 7 games, and by 1 point in a 91-90 game7 victory in San Antonio. The series cost them though as they entered hobbled by a few nagging injuries. Antonio McD was almost useless w/ an overall rtg that had dropped to 50 due to injury, and Richard Jefferson was playing at 50% with his injuries.

A healthy and rested Mavs team completed a sweep of the Spurs, and await an NBA Finals bout w/ the winner of the ECF. Currently, the Orlando Magic hold a 3-1 lead over the Atlanta Hawks.

              sounds way to unrealistic.

No way the clippers would do this, blake griffin straight for vareflop?

Mo williams who is inconsistent and a free agent nobody wants larry hughes for melo?

              hah

Oden one could happen if the blazers would do a salary dump.

Why would the 76ers deal a semi star pf and there star rookie for an injury prone player and a dinosaur whos about to retire?
              No way theyd ddo this.

the reason i got blake and melo was bc they where fatigue and frustrated so they were easy trades plus mo is really good and hughes can shoot and play very good defense.

yeah dont get me wrong stat has to be one of my favorite players in the game. The reason i even drafted him is he has hops, hes good offensive player, attacks the rim but for some reason if i put him in a run and gun / 3 point system he tends to get injured. Its not the first time ive seen this either.

My old original warriors and thunder squad, i traded for him and he just kept getting injured. I guess with all his injuries he cant keep up with a fast tempo offense and when he does he gets injured.

I figured id cut my losses and let glen davis start. Ever since he got ini the nba davis hasnt been so offensive bound. Hes more of a physical defender type of role player but college he was a beast figured id give him a shot and he did pay off. His offense is there. I make stupid easy layups, dunks, or mid to basket shots. If your looking for a pg to make mvp honors, you partner him up with glen davis. Its an assist galore. Literally. One game at 4 min quarters i literally had 41 assists with eric maynor to davis.

Im not disagree with you that mo was is good, but he is very inconsistent, hes more cold than hot and hughes hes good yes, but he has a bad attitude which most franchises dont like plus hes just spiraling downhill now. Even if melo was unhappy and frustrated i just dont see denver trading him for mo williams and hughes. Maybe if u added both cavs draft pick to trade for melo and had varejao still to add to a melo trade.

Then maybe, but thats just my opinion man. As long as your having fun in your dynasty its all that matters right?

I finally settled on a team for my Association. I'm going to run with the Oklahoma City Thunder. I'm a big fan of the team, especially after getting the opportunity to see them live on their home floor last year (I caught a free T-shirt, too!), it was really the choice for me outside of Denver.

I thought about taking a lower-rated team, but I don't think I'd be able to stick with it for an entire 82-game season or more. I decided against Denver because of all the unrest here over what's going to happen with Carmelo, and I have to admit, I've cooled on the team because I know there's no point in investing my time in them since the team will be blown up, either now at the trade deadline or in the off-season.

Yeah, that's true. Too bad for the team, I thought earlier in the season that they can finally compete in the playoffs, but with all the injuries they have, the inconsistencies of their role players like JR Smith and the Melo trade rumors, it's just so many hurdles for the team right now.

                          On the topic.

I just beat the Magics and it was a big one. Nets(me) - 113 vs Magics -95. Dwight really had trouble with his early fouls. He got fouled out in the 4th qtr with 10 mins left. Hedo and J Rich 43 combined points wasn't enough to stop the Nets onslaught down low.

I've scrapped my Mavs team and just switched GMs and took over the Grizzlies. They are going to be a lot of fun to play with. Gonna start my own version of the "Big 3" with Mayo, Gay and Randolph. Should be pretty fun. Dallas was just too old.
