Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:
After going 11-0 at home through December 1st, I've now taken two straight losses at home. One vs Golden St, and now a loss to the upstart Nets.
Dallas got out to a 14 pt lead midway through the 1st half, but NJ came storming back late in the 2nd qtr to cut the Dallas lead to 7.
In the 3rd NJ took control early, and Travis Outlaw, Derrick Favors, and Brook Lopez had taken the lead back for the Nets within the first 3-minutes of the 2nd half.
Dallas would wind up playing catchup, and had an opportunity early in the 4th to tie the game, but Beaubois' shot missed and NJ converted an And1 that pushed the lead back up and gave them further momentum. Dallas again made another run, but late in the 4th w/ only two minutes left. Got the deficit from 7 to 3, but much of the offense -- aside from Dirk -- had gone cold and just couldn't sustain any scoring.
NJ over Dallas, stealing one at American Airlines ctr, 98-88.
TEAM STATs:
FG: NJ 44%; DAL 42%.
3's: NJ 7/12; DAL 8/22.
3%: NJ 58%; DAL 36%.
FTs: NJ 15/19; DAL 10/12.
TO's: NJ 10; DAL 16.
Blks: NJ 9; DAL 5.
Individual Stats:
Dirk: 24pts/10rebs/6asts/2stls/2blks/10-21 FG/34 min.
Roddy: 15pts/1ast 6-17 in 33 min (got the start at 2guard).
Butler: 12pts/6rebs/3asts/2stls/5-15 FG/ 31 min - been struggling as of late.
Barea: 10pts/7asts/4-6 FG/2-4 3pt/25 min; Kidd was in foul trouble.
JET: 10pts/3rebs/2asts/1stl/4-9 FG/2-5 3pt/16 min.
Kidd: 7pts/6asts/5 TOs/21 min.
Brook Lopez: 25pts/10reb/3asts/2stls/2blks/8-19 FG/38 min.
Outlaw: 16pts/5rebs/2asts/2stls/2blks/6-12 FG/ 4-5 3pt/34 min.
T.Williams: 15pts/1reb/2asts/2stls/1blk/6-13/20 min.
Murphy: 11pts/9rebs/18 min.
I haven't been getting to the line enough lately. I need to attack more, turning into too much of a jump shooting team...but that's really the makeup. Need to attack more with Caron and Roddy Buckets, and penetrate more with Kidd. Been relying on the 3 too much.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
The next game after Deron Williams went off for 51 points, he nets 18 points and 21 assists against the 1-13 Hornets. Quite the close game, I ended up winning 100-94. Deron now holds the season records for points in a game and assists in a game. I got the Lakers next, they will be my toughest test of the season so far.Comment

0-1 with the New York Knicks. Lost the first game 90-85 to the T'Wolves. Big loss, we need to come back in the next game and shoot the ball better (Fields and Gallo.) Timofey Mozgov is a crazy good rebounder though. He's 7'1 and jumps 10 feet in the air to grab boards haha. Third best player on the team right now.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
When in doubt...always over pay when you HAVE to use trade override. This eliminates the "guilt" feeling of ripping off the computer a little more.
Even though ThaOne08 disagrees, this is a 3 way trade I'll probably end up doing:
bulls get:
Melo
KMart
Affalo (or JR if you want)
76ers get:
Deng
1st Round
JJ
Nuggets get:
Iggy
Boozer
Brewer (or bogans, not sure how the salaries match exactly)
1st round
but we all know that Melo is going to the Knicks by the trade deadline.. or maybe the Nets steal him.. Iggy may end up in Houston or Chicago..
just my opinion..Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
They took him back to pad depth on the frontcourt after trading away Wallace, Maxiel, and Charlie V, and ALSO because Kwame has an expiring deal. Its not a move to build a team, but to build more cap relief for DET and not have to pay Stuckey like they're already paying Ben Gordon.
To my knowledge Brown never left on bad terms in Detroit, and he's an expiring deal.
Plus the record is 6-15 and the Southeast division in the east are teams all above .500%. So might as well fork over this season, and get minutes for Monroe to develop him.
Another thing -- seriously, name a real-life trade in which a team got rid of all three of its top big men? It doesn't happen.
If you like the trade, it's cool, it's your game. I'm just giving you constructive feedback on it.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
whats the point of the Bulls trading for Melo if they have to give up Boozer in the process??.. would have been better doing a trade that sent Deng and Gibson and a 1st rd pick to Denver for Melo n maybe Anthony Carter..
but we all know that Melo is going to the Knicks by the trade deadline.. or maybe the Nets steal him.. Iggy may end up in Houston or Chicago..
just my opinion..Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Because the type of offense I run is drive and kick and a bit more up tempo. I'm not the greatest posting up...especially with Boozer. The trade you mentioned....yes it would be better for my team. But my philosophy is always to overpay when in doubt. This may sound weird, but I want SOME holes in my team to give me something to work towardsGT Agent August

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Lost two fairly close games to the Wolves and Clippers with my Knicks. After that Stoudemire got injured and he's out for the season. Randolph started in his place and the Rockets beat me 53-112. It was flat out embarrassing. We shot under 30% and no one could hit a shot to save their life. Immediately after the game I knew I had to make some moves. Called Andy Rautins up from the D-League and traded he and Raymond Felton away to the Celtics for Nate Robinson and Marquis Daniels. The Cavs gave me a 2011 and 2012 second rounder for Daniels and Robinson's going to be my starting point guard. I figured it's a little bit of an upgrade because he's a better scorer and playmaker. Plus I'm hoping getting Nate back will get the fans into it a little more.
Nate Robinson's ran the Knicks offense and led the team in the past. They weren't a good team then, but at least he's got the experience and can do it. And it's not like I've got a shot at Melo in a trade in the game, so if I want him I'm going to have to wait til the offseason and pray for a miracle haha. But at least Nate's an added piece that should make him want to come to New York, I like him running things down there and we'll see how the first game with him goes.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
But I like Melo because he can score in so many different ways, along with posting up. Doesn't hurt that he's my fave player.
My lineup is:
Rose
Affalo
Melo
Gibson
Noah
I'm loving the team. Melo scores at will usually in the first quarter. Defense adjusts and starts doubling, thats when Rose gets to action with dimes all over the placeComment
