Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I've heard all sorts of doom and gloom about extremely high shot volumes from stars and insane home court advantage during simulations leading to bizarre and frequent blowouts.
I did turn off chemistry and player roles though. I'm sitting out Jonas Jerebko to mirror his real life injury and that's the only way I could have made this happen without destroying team stuff.
By the by, I'm 1-0. I defeated the New Jersey Nets 85-83. I feel like I've rediscovered (or just initially discovered) the joy in using the new Detroit Pistons. Last year I really struggled shooting with both Richard Hamilton and Ben Gordon and I could never figure out why. With the new, in-game jumpshot feedback I have now discovered that I have always been releasing way too early on the shotstick with both of these guys. It's a whole new world now.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I started one with the Bobcats last night. While I love teams that play defense I can't stand playing 2K without guys who can shoot or don't have any type of post presence. So I set out to fix my Bobcat team with the trade finder and overrides turned off.
Address the low post scoring need.
Jazz In: Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson, Gana Diop.
Bobcats in: Al Jefferson, AK47, Jazz 2011 1st.
I was offered this trade in the trade finder. I know this wouldn't happen but I can at least make some sense of it. In my head I acted like Jefferson in Utah wasn't working out and they have capable players at C and PF with Milsap and Okur. It's a major upgrade for them at SG and SF with two guys both rated 84. I simmed the season out but didn't save it and the Jazz had the best record in the league after the trade. That's enough to justify it for me.
Add shooters but don't forget about defense.
Bobcats In: Carlos Delfino, Ersan Ilyasova, Dorrell Wright
I don't remember what the actual trades were right now but I didn't go after big named players. I specifically picked trades for the 3 players above in the trade finder and worked it out from there.
Reworked Bobcats:
Starters
PG DJ Augustin
SG Dorrell Wright
SF Andrei Kirilenko
PF Boris Diaw
C Al Jefferson
Bench
PG Charlie Bell
SG Carlos Delfino
SF Derrick Brown
PF Ersan Ilyasova
C Tyrus Thomas
I really like this team. They key new pieces are all pretty young and I now have the inside scoring and 3 point shooting that I was missing before. I just lack some guys who have the ability to create shots for others or themselves with the exception of Big Al's post game. While this team may not be very big, they are definitely very versatile and long. I expect a decent amount of shot blocking from these guys.
I also have a couple of scrubs at the end of the bench atm. I'll probably jettison Diaw, Bell and the scrubs for cap space before the trade deadline if I can find any takers. If I can do that I should have a substantial amount of cap space coming up in FA seeing how I managed to snag AK47's big expiring. Plus depending on how the season goes I just might have a decent draft pick.Last edited by chabber; 11-02-2010, 01:34 PM.Comment

They would really struggle to win, you have one big man (who is undersized to be your C) in Jefferson. You basically have 6 guards and 4 forwards.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Sup guys?
Bulls Association: a few moves.
Ronnie Brewer, Taj Gibson, James Johnson, 2012 2nd Round pick
To DET for:
T.McGrady, Jason Maxiell and Austin Daye
Signed AI (only way to get the Deng for Granger trade to work)
*Deng, AI, (2) 1st Rounders for Danny granger, & Jeff Foster (feel some type of way about this trade, but it worked out well, was trying to add TJ Ford to the deal but couldn't, it would've made it a bit more realistic IMO bcuz they wanted to unload his contract)
*** trade finder:*
CJ Watson, Asik, Kyle Weaver, Keith Bogans*
To LAC for*
Brian Cook, Deandre Jordan & Randy Foye
Starting 5
Rose
McGrady
Granger
Boozer
Noah
Bench:
Foye
Maxiell
Korver
Jordan
Daye (this guy is a work in progress)
Cook
Foster
Thomas
Lucas
Wanted to surround Noah, Rose and Boozer with another star (Granger) and a lot of depth (Foye, Maxiell, korver, jordan, Mcgrady) Feels some what like the Blazers of the eastern conference. Fighting for minutes is the biggest issue but I'm a figure it out, yet to play a game, just been running live scrimmages just to get a feel for the team, only issue so far is who to start at the (2), I tend to let McGrady go one on one too much, like he's still in his prime lol, might sixth man him and start Korver, Foye can play both guard positions which is better for me Jordan's offense is better than Noah's so ima squeeze some time in for him, Daye is the gold figure I'm most likely going to send him to the D-League and play games with him there, I don't want to take that chance on the big stage I'm trying to at least become the 3rd seed. But overall I feel good about this team.
Thoughts?Currently playing:
NBA 2K11; Association (Bulls)

NFL:Dallas Cowboys

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
After starting out 1-4 in my Jazz association, I've since won six in a row and now stand at 7-4, a top the Northwest Division.
I made a few trades:
Jazz get:
PF Serge Ibaka
SG Thabo Sefolosha
SF Morris Peterson
Thunder get:
C Mehmet Okur
PG Ronnie Price
SG CJ Miles
2012 2nd round pick
I was getting killed the first four games I played so I put Memo, Ronnie, and CJ up on the trade finder hoping to find some defensive and the Thunder offered me this trade. Both Ibaka and Sefolosha are excellent defensive players and fit in quite nicely with the Jazz. After that trade, to get Ibaka and Fesenko some more playing time I pulled off this trade:
Jazz get:
SF Jawad Williams
2011 1st round pick
Cavs get:
C Francisco Elson
2012 1st round pick
Again, just put up Elson in the trade finder and this is the best trade I got.
I also signed Othyus Jeffers when AK when down with an injury. But he was back a week later so I sent Jeffers down to the D-league, along with Jerermy Evans.
Through 11 games, D-Will is leading my team with 23.4 PPG and 11.6 APG (tops in the NBA). Al Jefferson is getting 16.6 PPG and 8.3 RPG. Paul Millsap is averaging 14.3 PPG and 8.3 RPG.
Raja Bell has one of the sweetest shots in this game. He's netting 8.6 PPG including putting up 17 against the Thunder in my last game and 20 against the Hawks a few games before that. He's shooting 52% from the field and 35% from 3.
Gordon Hayward, a rookie I was very excited to play with, has been a disappointment so far. He's averaging 5.9 PPG. He's only shooting 40% from the field but most of his made shots are coming from dunks and lay-ups. I can't shoot a jumper with him to save my life.
All-in-all, it's shaping up to be a pretty good season. My def. is rated 6th in the league while my O is 10th. Running the pick and roll with D-Will and either Millsap or Jefferson is pretty much unstoppable and when it does get stopped, there isn't a PG out there that can stop Deron when he drives.
So, what do you guys think? Did I make good trades? Any ideas what to do with Hayward? I don't really want to trade him but I need somebody to come off my bench that can score and he's not really getting the job done.Comment

Plus...when did Charlie Bell become a PG? Spot duty I can see? But a solidified backup PG? Nah. God forbid Augustin goes down w/ injury and now your starting point is Charlie Bell?Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

I wouldn't recommend starting Korver at the 2. He can't play D really. and McGrady...eh, kinda washed up. Only player I like in that trade is Daye.
Pacers trade, not too bad.
What I did in my Bulls association is trade for Courtney Lee to start at the 2. Tough defender and decent shooter. Also traded for Jerryd Bayless to backup rose and play some at the 2. Those are the only trades I made. I'm struggling though lol....2-8 thus far.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Finally settled on a Bulls association. So far made a few trades, mainly because I absolutely loathe Boozer.
Bulls - Boozer
Trailblazers - Aldridge, Babbitt
Bulls - Bogans, Scalabrine
Clippers - 11 2nd, Brian Cook
Bulls - Thomas, Cook
Nuggets - Afflalo, Forbes
Bulls - Forbes, 12 1st
Magic - Pietrus
My Team
Rose
Pietrus
Deng
Aldridge
Noah
Beverly
Watson
Babbit
Gibson
Asik
Afflalo
Rolle
Cook
Korver
Brewer
So far I'm 2-1. Looking pretty good with good wins against the Pistons and Blazers, but lost Deng to back spasms for a bit. I ended up sending down Johnson to D league and signed Rolle, Beverly, and a d leaguer named Cook just to give a little depth in spots in case of injuries. After all the moves I ended up being number 1 in defense.Last edited by SassJones; 11-02-2010, 04:44 PM.Comment
