Decided against getting Randolph. Decided to sign Danilo Gallinari instead.

since the wizards sucked last year thier picks mean more so it kind of like it has a 4 star value. i know these trades wouldnt go through but i used trade finder but in trade finder they wanted to much so i just ook out the extra stuff.
These are the type of trades that make me shake my head a bit. The type of trade that have been all over OS lately. In these deals, the Wizards acquire the best player in each deal (in my opinion) without sacrificing a first round pick (yes, they trade a first rounder but they also acquire one so its a wash). Eliminate the Wizards receiving a 1st rounder in return and each deal at least would seem plausible.

Granted, people can do as they choose. Its their game. But if you are looking for realism (and a competitive league), some thought should go into the motivation for all teams involved in a trade. You can almost bet that if the Wizards are somehow able to rid themselves of Gilbert's contract this season, a 1st round pick will be going out of Washington, not coming in (if picks are involved). Same in a deal of Smith. If you are going to trade your spare parts for a star or above average player, most likely a top pick will be headed out from your team, not coming in. Moving up or down in the draft isn't enough motivation (in most cases). Would the Hawks deal Smith? Who knows. A couple of years ago who would anyone have guessed that C. Paul and C. Anthony the topic of trade speculation. But they probably are not going to part with a 1st rounder in order to do so.

As they say, it's better to "over-pay" then to just take advantage of the flawed A.I. Also, over-paying a bit for the sake of your association prevents teams from being able to make multiple one-sided deals since eventually you are going to run out of trade pieces.

Just my $.02 and some thoughts that keep running through my mind on over half of the reported trades.

I just had probably the most fun game I've ever played on any basketball game before. I had my 11 winning streak on the line going up against the Lakers. Kobe was beastly to start the game, scoring 22 points in the first half. But I had the lead at half time, 54-53. Third quarter, they went on a run to get a 13 point lead but after they took Kobe out, I went on a run to leave the game tied after 3. Fourth quarter, I would jump out to a five point lead and would never let go, winning the game 111-107. Great game. I have no idea how I held off the Lakers. Deron finished with 31 and 19, Millsap was big with 22 and Jefferson was huge with 18 points on 9-9 shooting and 9 rebounds.

My record now stands at 13-4, riding a 12 game winning streak.

Yea there is no way you could land those guys for YI and Kapono and a 1st. And that's pretty easy to prove. The trade logic is pretty much the same through our games. All you have to do is resign as a GM for your team and select the team, in the case the wizards, and try the same trades. I'm sure if some us of do it we all come up with the same results. And trading no one outside of wall would land you any of those guys.

Edit: So i tried all the trades that you said you attempted. And the only one that was accepted was the first one Arenas for Andre I. The one for Smith there is on way you pulled that w/o override and when i go to the trade finder, they always ask for Wall or Andre. Wait a minute....., dude i have to apologize and also recommend they fire the hawks GM. So i go trade finder and select YI, Hinrich and Mcgee, just to see what offer i would get and hawks offered Smith and Marvin Williams but the also added that i include a 1st rounder but still. But i still say adding Kapono get you none of those guys. But let me just mention a few guy I'm bing offered w/ the those same three: GS Ellis, SA:Parker, Hou: Martin, Tor Bargnani, Den Lawson, LAL Bynum, UTH Jefferson, MEM Gay, BOS Allen and Davis, Mil: Bogut. Wow amazing, but again with just YI, Kapono and a 1st no way you getting the people i mention before. But i see that you can get some good talent with your roster. Come on mitch you can't trade Bynum

ok the andre iguodala trade with gilbert, booker and my 2011 first round pick for iguodala, kapono and thier 2011 firs round pick do work.

the yi, kapono and 76ers 2011 first round pick just for smith and the hawks 2011 first pick do work also. i did this trade plenty of times on mines and my friends 360s trust me it work. i didnt use trade override or nothing just did different trades.

if your team sucked last year than they would want your pick in the trade which means your pick is abouta 3.5 star rating in this game so that why most of the trades went through. i didnt have to resign i just made my trade iggy and smith trades before playin any games.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

                The Genesis:

This started off as a test, just to check out the sim bugs everyone keeps talking about. I chose the Lakers, Kobe won the MVP and the Lakers faced the Heat in the NBA Finals. I simmed until it wound up on a game 7 and I finally broke down and played the game. I lost the game by 3 to give the Miami dream team title number 1.

                Offseason and Season 2
                :

Since it was just supposed to be a test association, I blew up the entire team keeping Kobe and made a free agent run at Melo but he decided to sign with the bucks (WTF?).

I now had Kobe + Steve Nash (who I had traded for odom and Fisher) as my core to build from. Other pieced I aquired were Rudy Fernandez, Omri Casspi, Joel Prizbilla, Serge Ibaka, Hassan Whiteside, Luke Walton and Matt Barnes. I also had a nice stock pile of potentially high draft picks for the next two years.

I drafted a PF with a top 10 pick named Glen Battle, a PG with a late 1st round pick and another PF named Rodney Cage at some point in the 2nd round.

I also signed Shaun Livingston during the free agency period.

Going into Season 2 my lineup looked like this:

PG: Steve Nash - Shaun Livingston - rookie (who's name I cant remember)
                SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Rudy Fernandez- Omri Casspi - Matt Barnes - Luke Walton
PF: Glen Battle - Serge Ibaka - Rodney Cage
                C: Joel Przybilla- Hassan Whiteside

A few weeks into the new season curiosity drove me to shop my prized rookie PF and I was offered Joakim Noah (of whom I'm a big fan). I took the opportunity to unload Luke Walton's contract and received a 1st Rd pick in the deal.

I played a few games here and there during the second season especially at the end of the regular season as I was fighting for the top seed in the West.

I ended up playing the Thunder in the last game of the season. The winner tied Dallas for the top record in the West (which I held the tie breaker against). I won the hard fought game and snagged the top Seed in the West. The Bulls ended up with the best record in the league by one game.

                Lebron won the MVP

                Playoffs Season 2:

I was determined to play every game of the playoffs and set off to avenge last seasons Finals loss. I breezed through the first few rounds, beating the Jazz in the Conference Finals. The Heat faced the Pistons (led by Pau Gasol) and took them down in a tightly contested Eastern Conference Finals. They made it to the Finals for a rematch but not without casualties; Lebron James was lost to a broken foot. Without the reigning MVP my Lakers swept the Heat. Kobe won Finals MVP.

                Offseason before Season 3:

Steve Nash retired on top of the mountain and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

A contract dispute forced me to part ways with Phil Jackson. I also parted ways with Matt Barnes and Hassan Whiteside who wanted to test the free agent market. I picked up the option on my 2nd round pick, PF Rodney Cage who had worked his way into the starting lineup with his D, rebounding and occasional flash on offense. I re-signed Rudy Fernandez who showed his value during last years late season push for a title.

I wound up with the 6th pick (via previous trade with Min), the 15 pick (via the Pistons as part of the Gasol trade) the 31st pick (via the Bulls who i'd swapped picks with as part of the Noah deal) and my late 2nd round pick.

I had my eyes on moving up in the draft so I began to work the phones. Phoenix owned the 2nd pick and was willing to swap for my 6th plus Rodney Cage. I reluctantly parted ways with my starting PF, after trying my best to get phoenix to take Serge Ibaka instead. I'd grown pretty attached to my former 2nd round pick. I also moved down from 31st in the first RD to 1st in the 2nd RD

                The Draft:

I had gaping holes at PG and PF and so I had a welcomed tough choice on my hands on how to best re-tool my team. With the 2nd pick I settled on Adilson Andrade from Brazil; a 6'9" SF who had the size, strength and skillset to play the PF slot for me. At 15th I picked up Everret King; a 6'2" PG who impressed during workouts.

Next I waited and prayed for a 6'7'" SG named Shane Columbus to fall to me at the beginning of the 2nd rd. Shane Columbus was a very raw athletic slasher with an unreliable outside game. Something about his play caught my eye during the 5 on 5 workout. Alas, the Celtics picked him up at 21. I choose the best overall player on my board in hopes I could offer him as trade-bait for Shane Columbus.

I eventually got my hands on Columbus in a trade during preseason but the Celtics made me pay with few draft picks on top of my two 2nd RD picks, both PG's.

                Free Agency:

My primary target was Lamar Odom but he choose to sign with the Heat so I settled for Antawan Jamison. I also signed Kirk Hinrich and Derek Fisher (who just belongs in a Laker uniform and signed on the cheap).

Going into my 3rd Season my Lineup looked like this:

PG: Shaun Livingston - Everret King - Hinrich - Fisher
                SG: Kobe Bryant- Shane Columbus
SF: Rudy Fernandez - Omri Casspi
PF: Adilson Andrade- Serge Ibaka - Antawan Jamison
C: Joakim Noah - Joel Przybilla

                Season 3:

A few games into the season Phil Jackson was still unemployed and willing to sign for 4.8 Million I fired my coach and reunited with Hall of fame coach.

It was apparent from the start that 1) Adilson Andrade was going to be a force and canidate for rookie of the year. 2) Antawan Jamison did not fit in well with the team. I got on the phones looking for possible deals and low and behold Miami offered Lamar Odom if I would include Kirk Hinrich in the deal. I didn't think twice and reunited Odom with the Lake show.

I'm only in mid November but I've been playing every game so far. This team feels nicely constructed and I'm having a great time playing. I'm 6-2 dropping a 2OT thriller to Dallas and playing poorly in Portland.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Im controlling about 10 teams. With some Im more hands off than others though. For example, the Lakers and Celtics are two teams I control that Im not heavily involved in. Theyre winning. So, Im concentrating on rebuilding the franchises that arent doing so well.

In my first year, I made a lot of trades near the deadline with teams that I thought would be lottery teams. I ended up trading Jackson and a lot of other players along with a future first for their pick in year 1 of my association. I made another trade along the same lines but it was with a team that wasnt as bad.

Some of the trading is like a futures contract where your trade partner is banking on your draft pick going up in value. I saw some good players in the draft so I decided the sooner the better where the rebuild was concerned and went with having a lot of rookies come in at the ground floor at the same time.

The end result of all of that was that I had the 1st, 3rd and 7th overall picks. I used the 1st to take this SF who is a little similar to LeBron and Blake Griffin...a guy who looks like he could easily play tight end. His name is Doyle Rogers and he's out of New Mexico.

With the 3rd pick, the Carolina Flight took the highest overall rated player in the draft, a PG named Morrison. Since the Carolina Flight are kind of an homage to Jordan, I went with Morrison because he plays good defense too. Same with Rogers.

Then with the 7th pick, I traded down and selected what I felt was the 2nd best of a cluster of similar shooting guards. I picked up a future 1st along the way. His name is Noel Hamre, out of North Carolina. At the top of the draft, there was a studly SG that I could have also went with but in the 5 on 5 and 1 on 1, Hamre was really solid. And since the Flight are an homage to Jordan, I went with the SF at the top and took Hamre later, thinking he would be there.

And then finally, not thinking Wallace would want to be a part of a rebuild, I traded him to another user controlled team. I traded him to Denver, which was the team that took the studly SG at 2. I kind of rebuilt Denver using a Carmelo Anthony trade in a similar way. So, with Wallace, I acquired the 20th pick which I used to trade down a couple of picks. Where I finally took Greg Banks, who is a 7'4 center who graded out with A+ rebounding. He was another defensive stalwart in the offseason drills.

So, in the end, the hall for may various maneuvering for the Flight netted a PG, SF, SG, and C. My team is rated low but I wonder if thats because my depth took a hit when I made trades. My starting lineup has a PG and SF in the low 80s, a SG in the low 70s, and a C in the high 60s. All of these guys are affective though. They win their share of games when I export them. I just acquired Chauncey Billups as a back up PG and traded Hinrich. I was able to get a good deal with Philadelphia who was bereft of quality PGs after Holidays rating dropped 13 points due to being unhappy.

For Denver, I had a similar situation but used Anthony to acquire draft picks from Washington. It ended up being the #2 pick, with which I took the SG, Parks, that I referenced before. Is rating is also in the low 80s.

I then actually passed up drafting a PG that the computer rated as a top 5 pick and took the PG that I felt was the best passer. With the athletic SG running the floor, I felt this would compliment him well. His rating is in the mid 70s.

I then used a later pick to acquire Gerald Wallace. So my starting lineup looks like Morgan (the PG I mentioned), Parks, Wallace, Turkoglu, and Nenee. I keep wrestling with what to do at SF and PF between Wallace, Turkoglu, and Martin.

Finally settled on the Pacers. Collison went out for 2 weeks with a back strain after getting hacked. I made some moves (and traded all of my SGs) and now my Starters are

                        Collison
                        Felton
                        Deng
                        Granger
                        Hibbert

and my bence has Azubuike, James Posey and Jeff Foster. I am 2 and 3.

7-5 with the Lakers, I have had it hard so far I lost Kobe for 2-4 weeks with a severe ankle sprain and then a few games before Kobe finally came back I ended up losing Gasol for 4-6 weeks with a broken wrist.

Just curious, are most of you guys playing at Pro or All-Pro? I don't want to dominate the league with a crappy team, but I also don't enjoy it being impossible to buy a win.

Might as well share my Blazers Association. Playing on All-star w/ 12 minute quarters. Through 25 games, the Blazers sit with a 21-4 record. That record is a bit misleading for a couple of reasons: 1) I am 11-4 in games played and a unreal 10-0 in simmed games. 2) I have had a great run of luck with regards to playing teams missing players due to injury early in the season in both played and simmed games. Already I have played the Lakers without Gasol, Denver without Anthony, and the Suns twice without Nash. That certainly helps things a bit.

                              B. Roy - 24.0/3.5/3.9 (33 min)
                              L. Aldridge - 16.4/8.2 Reb (30.7 min. - 16 games played due to injury)
                              G. Oden - 12.5/10.0/2.8 Blocks (27.4 min)
                              N. Batum - 11.4/4.8 Reb (30 min - 52% from 3)
                              A. Miller - 8.8/6.1 Assist (26.5 min)

                              W. Mathews - 9.5 (23.8 min - 6th man)
                              R. Fernandez - 9.1 (20.6 min - 7th man at SG/SF)
                              L. Babbitt - 6.0 PPG (10.4 minutes mostly at PF)
                              M. Camby - 5.7/9.1 Reb (22.0 min)
                              D. Cunningham - 4.4/4.1 Reb (15.2 min)
                              A. Johnson - 3.3/4.3 Asst (12.0 min)

Losses came @ Chicago (by 4), @ OKC (by 27-don't ask), Orlando (by 2), and San Antonio (by 20). Both blowout losses had a common theme - 39-14 and 32-17 4th quarters. The loss to Orlando hurt a bit. It was a great back and forth game for all four quarters. Down by 1 with 15 seconds left, I held for the last shot, setting up a mid range jumper for B. Roy. He takes the pass and the elbow, dribbles to his left once and and nails the pretty jumper, leaving only 1.2 seconds on the clock and giving the Blazers a 96-95 lead. Timeout Orlando. On the inbounds play, J. Nelson take the pass just beyond the 28 foot line and fires up a prayer before the buzzer sounds....nuthin' but net. The Portland crowd is silent. I couldn't believe it. I was stunned, going from the high of the Roy shot to the utter disbelief of the Nelson game winner. A loss, but a great game.

Some interesting (although frustrating trends) so far. The numbers for Mathews and Fernandez are solid, however, I am yet to get both going in the same game. If one is hitting, the other is stone cold. Both have scoring lines that look like this - 19-4-17-5-23-6. B. Roy really took over when Aldridge was out for 5 games (and counting), scoring over 30 three times.

Since I am thin at backup PF, I have been playing a combo of Cunningham and Babbitt there, using Babbitt when teams go small on me. But with the injury to Aldridge, Camby has been seeing the bulk of the starters minutes at PF. E. Williams and P. Mills have bounced between the active roster and D-League, but neither factors much this season (so far). A nice surprise has been Armon Johnson at PG. His play has me leaning towards not picking up the team option on Andre Miller for next season.

Only one trade so far this season. The Cavs were decimated by injuries to their C's. With no healthy big guys, I traded them J. Pryzbilla for a 2nd rounder. I did this for a couple of reasons - 1) to help a Cleveland team that didn't have a healthy big guy keep winning (they were surprisingly sitting 4th in the East at the time. 2) Pryzbilla was unhappy and deserved a shot somewhere. 3) Since I am not controlling all 30 teams this year, I wanted to have an extra 2nd rounder to help facilitate any league wide trades that might need to be made, fixed, etc. With my injuries of late, I really wish I still had Pryzbilla. Also, I released Oberto when he announced his retirement (IRL) and signed the lowly rated Robert Swift to fill out my bench. Little did I know that he would be needed for actual minutes, logging 5+ in the last 3 games.

Having a blast so far. Looking to draft a backup PG and PF in the draft. As for the extra 2nd rounder, I will eventually trade it for a 2nd next year instead of using it. Like I said, just need the pick to help with CPU 3 team trades. BTW, Pryzbilla is putting up a 5 pt, 8 Reb, 2 Block line for the Cavs, keeping them in contention for a playoff spot. Camby is a bit dinged up and has already announced his intentions to retire at the end of the year so I could really use Pryzbilla. Oh well.

Question. Do players who announce their plans to retire ever change their minds? Just curious. Thanks for reading.

I'm using HoosierDaddy's sliders on pro. I love it. It's a bit challenging and extremely frustrating at times, but it makes you play so much harder and makes the game extremely fun.
