Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Since beating the Mavs in my Jazz association, I've gone 4-1, with wins against the Hornets(114-101), the Bucks (112-105), the Cavs (126-117), and the T-Wolves (117-102) and a lost to the Warriors (103-94).

The day after the Mavs victory, I pulled off a trade I've been wanting to do for a while, sending Thabo Sefolosha, Morris Peterson, Othyus Jeffers, and the Cavs 2011 1st round pick to the Magic for J.J. Redick, Chris Duhon, and Jason Williams. I've since released Jason Williams. J.J. Redick is my sixth man and in the five games he's played as a Jazzman, he's scored 8, 18, 12, 29, and 10 points and gone 16-30 from 3 point land. He's brought much needed scoring off my bench that I've been looking for all season.

Deron has still been playing amazing, he just won the Player of the Week again. He's averaging 26.8 PPG and 13.7 APG. AK-47 has been playing great lately, netting 16.5 PPG, 3.8 RGP, 1.6 APG, 1.5 SPG, and 2.8 BPG in the last six games.

My rotation currently looks like this:

PG: Deron Williams (40 MPG), Earl Watson (8 MPG), Chris Duhon (3 MPG)
SG: Raja Bell (34 MPG), JJ Redick (22 MPG)
SF: Andrei Kirilenko (35 MPG), Gordan Hayward (10 MPG), Jawad Williams (0 MPG)
PF: Paul Millsap (35 MPG), Serge Ibaka (9 MPG)
C: Al Jefferson (36 MPG), Fesenko (8 MPG)

With Jeremy Evans getting 9 MPG down in the D-league.

I currently sit with a 24-6 record, first in the league. The Rockets are second in the West at 21-8, the Mavs third at 19-9, the Lakers fourth at 20-10, and the thunder fifth at 19-12. In the East, the Celtics are on top at 19-9 with the Magic second 20-11, the Heat third 19-13, the Pacers fourth 15-12, and the Knicks fifth 17-14.

Monty Williams is the only coach to be fired so far, being replaced by Marcus McGuire. Paul Westphal (Kings, 10-17), Flip Saunders (Wizards, 8-20), and Vinny Del Negro (Clippers, 11-20) are all on the hotseat.

I've had a fairly easy schedule so far but have some tough games coming up. This team is a blast to play with and I hope to play all 82 games and win the championship.

And the training I did was not the Development points stuff, It was the ones where you can set the person to focus on and what to focus on. And I think i've done the intra-sqaud scrimmage before
Sorry for the late reply, i went to the gym. As for star rating, did you check to see if all your players have 1 star?

        To check your Star rating:
        Go to GM--->Trade---->Trader Finder

        To edit your player:
Go to GM---->Roster and then highlight the player and press "A"(xbox) "X"(ps3) and select edit. The first screen you see is where you first the both primary and secondary positions.

Played the first game. Absolute blowout. Heat 50 Bulls 25. 5 minute quarters. These next 3 games will be hell. The highlight of the game was DRose hitting a 3 to go into the half.

Yup, all my players are 1 star but for ps3, isn't highlight a player already pressing X? so doesn't that just deselect it?

True so just press a button until you the option to edit the player and go from there. But since your players are now all 1 star, i would just restart my association. But before you do, try danny granger to the hornets for peja and sim for like two days and trade for granger back. Or better yet once you trade Granger go to the trade finder and locate the hornets and see if the trade resulted in a reset his star rating. If it hasn't, it probably wont matter if you trade for him back he will still be a 1 star. Sorry if this doesn't work, i'm just throwing ideas out there so you don't have to worry about restarting your association.

I see what you're saying. I am getting pretty realistic scores and stats though, out of the 56 games I've played now only 5 or 6 of them have I scored 120 or above, and twice it was a really close game anyways. Wade getting 27, LeBron getting 28, Bosh getting 16, Miller getting 16, and the rest of my team just fills in the rest with about 10 or 20 a game, if even that. It's just that I while I win (almost) every game, most of the time it's not by a huge margin, so it feels fine to me I think. Ah well, to each his own. Also, I can't download the sliders now and put them on this association since I have already started it and I don't feel like restarting 56 games in, and I'm afraid to mess with sliders and screw everything up anyways, LOL.

Anywho, 55-1 now with the Heat at the all-star break and LeBron and Wade made the all-star team, but not bosh even though Bosh is averaging 16 points, 13 rebounds, almost 3 assists, slightly over 1 steal and 1 block per game. He got snubbed by Antwan Jamison who is averaging 23 points and 8 rebounds per game for a bad team, the Cavs were 17-35 last time I checked in my association. Bosh leads the league in rebounding and doesn't even make the all-star team, lol. Ah well, in real life he is set to be nowhere near all-star game worthy if he keeps up this performance, so it's fine with me I suppose. I will update on my association again when the playoffs start, just 26 games (plus the Rookie-Sophmore game and the All-Star game) away, can't wait.

Looking for some feedback. Do you guys play with player roles on? I've been fooling around with trades/rosters and I think I've found my line-up. I plan on starting my Spurs association soon but I was wondering if it's worth using player roles? For example do players still get upset when their playing time goes down due to injury? Is it extremely difficult to manage rotations? What about if you need to change a players role after a trade? Is the 6th man difficult to manage? Should I just turn it off? Is the next patch supposed address these issues? Would I have to start my association over to implement these improvements on player roles? Sorry about all the questions I'm just torn. It's a cool part of association but it's not worth Manu Ginobili getting upset because he's injured for 2-3 weeks! Thanks for the help guys.

I'm restarting my association, and i'm also facing the issue of whether to turn off player roles. It's a cool feature for the game, but if you have deep rosters on your team, you're going to run into trouble trying to manage that bench very soon.

You can change your sliders in the middle of an association. Just print the sliders off this site and put them in manually inside your assciation. Give PuntNL's sliders a shot. I gaurentee you dont go 55-1 your next 56 games!!

With a lineup of Oden, Love and Beasley I can't see how you would lose the rebounding match-up with any team.
I like this advice, except I got rid of Beasley early on. Oden re-signed for a bargain and I ended up acquiring Horford (who is on a MASSIVE contract but I still have cap room) and I traded Perkins away (and a 1st and 2nd draft pick) for James Harden. So now my starting 5 is all above 80 overall:
                          J Flynn
                          J Harden
                          W Johnson
                          K Love
                          A Horford
with Oden, Webster and Dragic coming off the bench.

In my Jazz association, my next game was against the Blazers. They started off hot and I started off slow and I was down by 13 going into half time. Third quarter, D-Will took over and slowly starting to cut into the lead. I finally took the lead for the first time all game with two minutes left in the game and I would hold on for the victory.

Next game was against the Clippers. Pretty easy game, I had everybody (besides Raja Bell, he's been cold ever since I traded for JJ Redick), and the game looked like another day at the office for the Jazz. Until the four minute mark of the fourth quarter and Blake Giffiths foot happened. Al Jefferson went up for a rebound, landed on Griffiths foot...servre ankle sprain, out 2-4 weeks, if not longer. Luckily, I was up enough that him getting hurt didn't pervent the Jazz from the win.

This is the first major injury I've had this year and I'm a lost of what to do. My only other center is Kryolo Fesneko. Right now, I have Fes starting in place of Jefferson and getting around 26 minutes a game. I upped Serge Ibaka's minutes to 27. While I love both Fes and Serge, neither one is a threat on offensive if D-Will and Millsap aren't producing. I was gonna sign a back-up C to a ten-day contract but it's too early in the season for that. I guess that I will just run with Fes and Serge and hope that I don't miss Jefferson's 17 PPG and 9 RPG too much.
