I dont understand why the computer is trying to make Major trades in the first month of the season. That deosnt happen in the NBA. No one is really making moves in Nov.
Things dont heat up until Jan/Feb Trade deadline.
I have Trades turned off, but the rumour mill and offers are happening all the time.

Teams out the gate are still trying to gel in Oct/Nov, not trade away their all star.

Even thou i control all 30 teams I always keep trading off until Late Jan. early Feb. I do like the rumors even with trading off.

I like to turn CPU trading off until the offseason because for some reason, teams in 2k trade like crazy. The rosters in november are totally different than the rosters in febuary. Im not talkin 1-2 new players but 3 new starters. I like to play realistic teams not teams that look like they came out of a fantasy draft.

Quick question. I play with auto subs based on rotation. Andray Blatche was injured in the third quarter and out for 1-2 weeks, but the cpu kept sending him out. Is there anyway to take him out of the rotation midgame that I am overlooking?

I was planning on waiting for the patch to start but decided to start anyway. I might end up restarting again after the patch is out as long as it does not screw up anything like last years did. I would start and get familiar with the association adn play wait and see on here before downloading the patch just to be sure they don't screw something up. Hopefully as long it is taking for the patch it will be well tested and won't produce any new bugs along the way.

I haven't started my association yet, since the "home team advantage" bug still exists. I can't believe it still hasn't been fixed. I get that they're not ready to release a "MAJOR patch", but a quick "hotfix" to correct such a simple yet major issue should have been deployed by now. I mean, the home team advantage bug is probably such a simple fix, and it's a major issue, but we have to wait for a "major patch" to fix other way more complicated issues before this simple fix goes live.

Association is a major feature. I can't believe something like this is left broken for this long.

Has 2kSports even released a release date for the fix?

Edit: I'm genuinely concerned, not trying to criticize too much, although criticism is certainly deserved. Has there been an official statement from 2ksports acknowledging the home court advantage bug? And have they announced a deadline for the patch that will fix this? No offense, but it's irritating to spend money on a game that doesn't work as advertised, and have to wait months for it to be corrected. I play association pretty much exclusively, and the home court advantage bug destroys association mode. Every single result of every single CPU simulated game (ever game aside from ones I manually play) are bogus. Whats the point of an association when the Timberwolves beat the Lakers by 30 points consistently when at home? Or when the #1 seed in the playoffs wins every single series 4-3?

Again I'm not trying to talk sh..t, It's just frustrating when your favorite part of the game (association) is this broken. I love the 2k series, I was playing it way back in the early 00's and own a copy of all 5 years where Iverson was on the cover, as well as Ben Wallace and Shaq.

My friends owned "Live", and I'd go over there and play it, and before the game started, I'd pause and ask: "What are the controls?" "How do I shoot, pass etc..?", and they'd be like "just press buttons", and proceed to steamroll me at the most unrealistic basketball experience I've ever seen. That says a lot about the state of mind of a "Live" player vs a 2k player.

I want to struggle through a grueling season and be faced up against appropriate opponents in the playoffs. When the entire season outside of your own teams matchups (every single CPU simulated game) is broken, it takes away the point of playing an association in the first place. None of the other teams' records or stats mean anything. None of the teams you face in the playoffs necessarily deserve to be there.

The whole enjoyment of playing an entire season (franchise) vs just playing single games is gone.

Hope they fix this soon.

Hmm... how far into the association? Maybe they've been told by him in the game that he's not resigning - so they decided to get a big expiring and a decent squad player in Kelenna. Its probably more than they will get in real life.

Season One with the Jazz

Made two moves to acquire Bargnani for Okur+another player and draft picks, then acquired Courtney Lee for a player and 2nd round draft picks.

C-Bargnani/Elson/Fesenko

Bargnani is a matchup nightmare coming off of screens for defending Centers. Having a 7 footer that can shoot opens up the inside for Big Al and Milsap.

Just made my first and only trade of the '10-'11 season.

Chicago Receives:
-Shannon Brown, SG, 1YR-$2.20M
-Devin Ebanks, SF, 1YR+1-$474K
-'12 2nd Round Pick

Los Angeles Receives
-Keith Bogans, SG, 1YR-$1.25M
-Kurt Thomas, PF, 1YR-$1.35M
-'12 1st Round Pick
-'11 2nd Round Pick

With no room in the Bulls rotation, Kurt Thomas could only find 2 minutes a night playing behind the young excelling Omer Asik. From the lack of minutes Kurt began to complain, saying he didn't sign here for this. Keith Bogans also complained about the 23 MPG allocated to him, primarily because those aren't "starter minutes". These two guys both wanted more minutes or out. So I went on the look out for a SG, when I stumbled across Shannon Brown, who was -5 pts because of morale. Brown in a similar situation as Bogans and Thomas couldn't find reasonable minutes in the talent/depth filled Los Angeles Lakers. I decided that this was feasible since the laker would be adding veteran talent like they have done so many times, and even though they would be losing some youth they would receive $2.60M in expiring contracts plus a future 1st round pick to go along with a 2nd. The Bulls received a young prospect in Ebanks, who right now wont be getting many minutes but in the future as he progresses may find the rotation. More importantly the Bulls find a young, possible SG of the future to pair up with Derrick Rose as the most athletic back court in NBA history. The Bulls also received a future 2nd round pick from the Lakers.

Didn't want to make a new thread for it so I'll just ask here. Can I get cracking on a new Association, or should I just wait for the patch? I don't want to start a dynasty just to have it get screwed up or have to quit it because the patch won't apply to it.

Maybe I'm missing something but when I went to start my Association tonight with the Lakers why is Andrew Bynum listed as a reserve and not on the IR? Yao Ming is also starting. Can someone explain why this is happening? Bynum is a reserve coming off the bench???

My friend and I do challenges with teams who can win a championships fastest. We are currently doing the kings. Year 3 we were 41 and 41 got to the ecf and lost in 6 to memphis, but I drafted a center number 2 who I played with just to see and his last game 30 points 17 boards 2 assists 2 blocks. Point wise and block were his worst games. He had 47 against detroit.

I traded evans and cousins for rose and deng

I'm not in love with rose he might go for a better 3 point shooting pg. The entire defense collapses on my center and rose can't seem to take advantage from the outside
