Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I started my Wizards rebuilding project so i simmed year one before i simmed I traded Rashard lewis for bobcats draft pick and shaun livingston. and i traded trevor booker for cavaliers first pick.

The cavs pick ended up being one which went to me.
The bobcats pick was 2nd which ended up going to me.
and my wizards got the 5th pick.

So i had 3 picks within the top 5 which was awesome.

I signed Zach Randolph in the free agency.

I drafted, Terrence Jones (#1) , Harrison Barnes (#2) and Brandon Knight (#5).

I feel like the team is really stacked right now imo. this is the roster:

      J. Wall
      N. Young
      Yi
      Blatche
      McGee
      Jo. Crawford,
      C.Eyenga
      K. Seraphin
      S. Livingston
      T.Jones (R)
      H. Barnes (R)
      B. Knight (R)
      C. Singleton (R)
      Z. Randolph

      My lineup is:
      Wall
      Young
      Barnes
      Randolph
      McGee

I'll update how i progress gonna probably play one game then just sleep.

I'm gonna go ahead and start a new Bulls Association after going on a My Player binge (I'm an 85 now).

For now I am going to keep trades off for this year.

I will sim up to the current point of the season as of today, and play from there.

Goal for season: Get to the Eastern Confrence Finals.
Goal for off-season: Sign Aaron Afflalo, keep the core together.
Goal for draft: Find a SF with a good IQ to give Deng some rest.

I'll be using The Game & JFK Essential Rosters (360)

        And these sliders.

        With this draft class.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just decided to do a Fantasy Draft for Association and my roster came away looking like this
          PG:Eric Gordon
          SG:Aaron Affalo
          SF:Kevin Durant
          PF:Kevin Love
          Ceandre Jordan
          6th:Shannon Brown
          Rest of the bench:Udonis Haslem,Goran Dragic,Damion James,Matt Bonner,Ryan Anderson,Daniel Gibson,and Sonny Weems.
Dan Gilbert guarantees the Cleveland Cavaliers will win a championship before Lebron...I guess he got a early copy of NBA 2k11!

Started a Clippers association today and will sim the first season. Would you trade Eric Gordon at all? I put him in the trade finder and can get anybody I want like Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay, Brandon Roy etc. I like to play with Gay but I think that would be very unrealistic since they just re-signed him to a big contract extension. Would there be any realistic trades for Gordon or his he basically untouchable?

              [2-1 DET year 1/All-Star/82gm/10min]

I decided to begin a Pistons association, put the PHO one on the backburner for now. Detroit needs a youth movement, so basically i'm looking to see what Rip gives me on the court this season but ultimately i want to use Gordon as my starting guard next year.

              Impressions so far:
Big Ben is a shell of his former self
Maxiell is a tiny PF who can't really jump
Wilcox and Summers will ride the pine all year
Stuckey's alright, and Bynum mimics Earl Boykins

I'll sim most of this season, hoping for a top 10 pick where i'll take a PG to replace on of those guys. I do need an awesome rebounder, and Charlie V isn't cutting it on the boards so far, all he wants to do is shoot 3's.

              PG Stuckey | Bynum
              SG Rip | B.Gordon | T.White
              SF Prince | T-Mac | Jerebko | Daye
              PF Charlie V | Maxiell | Summers
              C Monroe | Wallace | Wilcox
              Lakers | Michigan | Dodgers

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

After putting this game down because of some of the BS that wrong with this game I finally decided to give it 1 more chance. Glad I did, I spent 1 whole day editing to hopefully get the results I was looking for in the sim stats and i think i might have finally done it. Things that bugged me was teams low fg%,low team assist, and to many fouls in in sim stats. I was also frustrated in lack of Off Reb. in games played.

So after reworking everything I started a Pacer dynasty and lost my first game 111-97 to the Spurs. I held close until the 4th when they open the gap and I could not come back. It was the most enjoying game I have had since picking this game up on day 1. I grab 10 off reb which i was happy with as they also grad 10. So far the sim games for other teams looked good as well, its early but I think I got it to where it needs to be or atleast i hope so after all the work i put into fixing what 2k should have.

I must admit they do get a lot of blocks, surprisingly Rudy Fernandez gets a lot as well.

Shaq's retiring at the end of the season (hopefully with a title ), and so the only real question is how to replace him. I have 7'4" Center Drew Cook, so do I develop him using training camps, or go and get an established guy who's better defensively like Turiaf?

                  Full squad at the moment:

                  PG - Tony Parker
                  SG - Eric Bledsoe
                  SF - Perry Jones
                  PF - Blake Griffin
                  C - Marc Gasol

                  6. Shaquille O'Neal
                  7. Rudy Fernandez
                  8. Von Wafer
                  9. Luc-Richard Mbah a Moute
                  10. Anthony Riley
                  11. Demarre Carroll
                  12. Mike James

                  R - Drew Cook

I traded him for Tony Parker, but that was more to suit the style of my team than actually trying to get a better player out of the deal.

                    Maybe you could get Iguodala?

I think not putting Cook in the D-League straight away was a mistake, because really Shaq and Gasol was all I needed all season to be honest. In desperate situations Griffin can play C as well so I missed a trick on that one.

I think that sounds like a good plan A defensive center it is.

What happens when you put a player in the D League for the whole season? Is it better than letting him play a couple of minutes off the bench?

I'd like to know this as well, because some sports games don't give you any real benefit in sending a player to the reserves/minors etc.

I am now trying to play Hall of Fame difficulty after starting season 3 of my team 13-0 on the difficulty below. I am 2-0. I am playing on sim setting except all shooting categories for me are set at regular (50) and computer's shooting categories at (49). I might have one of the biggest starting five ever. I am Golden State with 0 remaining players. I had to trade Curry and Kevin Love for salary cap reasons and I ended up with the 1st and 2nd pick of the draft.

PG- 2nd Overall pick Reese Thompson 6'5 83 overall
                            SG-Kevin Durant 99 overall
                            SF-Lebron James 99 overall
PF-Chris Bosh 91 overall (I started my association before the NBA season)
                            C-Brook Lopez 89 overall
6th Man 1st overall pick SG Hasan Butler 85 overall. (An absolute offensive beast.) Averaging 17 points a game playing only 17 min a game for 10 min quarters.

My rest of my team is full of rookies, 2nd and 3rd year guys that hardly play. They fill so many starters can rest. I average around 117 points a game.

Just started a dynasty a few days ago on All-Star skill level, with the Atlanta Hawks, and I am getting my butt kick by the cpu, my record is 3-7, I cant stop the computer from scoring, the hit most of their jump shots and fade aways are money! Can any body point be towards good Association sliders.

                              My Roster

I'm now 10 games into season three of my Miami Heat association. Here are the standings so far for teams in playoff position ten games into the season.

                                East Playoff Picture

                                1. Heat: 10-0
                                2. Nets: 9-1
                                3. Raptors: 7-3
                                4. Hawks: 5-3
                                5. Celtics: 5-4
                                6. Knicks: 5-5
                                7. Bulls: 4-4
                                8. Bucks: 5-5

                                West Playoff Picture

                                1. Lakers: 8-2
                                2. Spurs: 8-2
                                3. Jazz: 5-4
                                4. Mavericks: 5-4
                                5. Nuggets: 5-4
                                6. Kings: 5-4
                                7. Warriors: 5-4
                                8. Blazers: 6-5

The Nets are dominating with their free agent acquisitions of Deron Williams and Dwight Howard, and have only lost one game so far, and that was to the high octane offense of the Golden State Warriors.

The team I'm using, the Miami Heat, just came off of a nail-biter against Boston. They were up by 7 at the half but I ended up storming back and winning by 13, finishing the game on a 21-8 run in the last (roundabout) 4 minutes. Otherwise, I have blown out some bad teams, and had a couple of other nail biters as well.

I'm loving the feel of my team this season, but I am questioning the three new players I inserted into my rotation this year in Wayne Copeland (generated rookie, tenth pick, center), Benjamin Roberts (generated second-year player, 29th pick, also a center), and Gordon Hayward. I haven't been able to play well at all with them and may consider dealing them before the trade deadline. One thing I seem to need is a play-maker off of the bench, as I seem to need either Wade or LeBron out their at all times. These young guys have pretty good trade value so I might try to get some established veterans, or I might try to trade for future picks as this year's draft class seems to be better than the previous year's as I downloaded this draft class via 2KShare. It was the highest rated one so I might try to get some picks to take a crack at it.

I will update every 10 games from now on, so it should be 4-5 days before my next update.
