Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

    In my Bulls Association, year 2011, I just made my first big trade. I wasn't really liking boozer too much, just not consistent enough. Trade Finder presented me with a straight up trade for Kevin Love! No way I could pass this up so I went in and kind of framed the deal to this;

    Bulls Send:
    Carlos Boozer 86
    Durrell Summers 71
    Eniel Polynice 62
    Bulls 1st Round Pick 2011
    Bulls 1st Round Pick 2012
Bobcats 2012 1st Round pick 2012 (substituted for the pick in real life)

    Timberwolves Send:
    Kevin Love 83
    Wayne Ellington 65
    Anthony Tolliver 63

Now I have no idea why they offered up Love but I couldn't turn that down. I signed Afflalo in the off-season so my depth at SG is there, no need for either Summers or Polynice.

    So now my Depth Chart is looking like this;

    D.Rose 94/ C.J.Watson 71
    A.Afflalo 75/R.Brewer 74/W.Ellington 65
    L.Deng 82/K.Korver 64/R.Butler 59
    K.Love 83/T.Gibson 77/A.Tolliver 64
    J.Noah 85/ O.Asik 60 (upset about minutes)

This looks like a title contender to me, for many years. Currently 9-3 early in the season and just lost a heart breaker to the Lakers last game in LA, Kobe hit a buzzer beating 3 to win.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Well i'm about to start year 2 with Phoenix. Here's the run-down of the end of season 1 and the offseason:

Finished 38-44, didn't make the playoffs. MIA won the title against UTA 4-1 (UTA beat SA 4-2 and MIA clipped BOS 4-3 in the conference finals). I didn't feel like drafting anyone so i traded away my picks for 2011. Washington had the #1 pick again and took a damn PG! I don't get that one bit.

      Trades:
      Childress[don't use him] >> OKC '12 2nd rnd
      Frye, '11 1st, '12 1st >> IND Hansbrough[like this kid!]
      '11 2nd >> ATL Josh Powell[12th man]

      Signings:
      JR Smith 3yr $29.63mil
      Afflalo 3yr $5.45mil
      Pryzbilla 2yr $2.47mil
Marcus Banks 1yr $730k [no desireable PG in FA]

      Noteable League Movement:
      Brooks to CHA 5yr $65.35mil
      Vinsanity to NJ 2yr $20mil
      Yao re-up w/HOU 6yr $111.87mil [this is ridiculous]
INDIANA sign Shan.Brown, Thad.Young, Delonte, Kenyon Martin
      NO sign Redd & T-Mac
      Z.Randolph to DEN 4yr $45mil
      W.Chandler to MEM 4yr $36mil
      George Karl to coach WAS
      Jerry Sloan to coach HOU

Overall i like how this panned out, got rid of some long contracts for younger guys and I've got $8mil of cap space. Brooks split just as i expected and i wasn't gonna match that CHA offer. Open to Gortat trade offers for a PG b/c i expect Nash to retire after this season.

      Current Roster:
      PG Nash | M.Banks
      SG JR Smith | Afflalo
      SF Hill | Dudley
      PF Warrick | Hansbrough | J.Powell
      C Gortat | Pryzbilla | C.Hunter
      Lakers | Michigan | Dodgers

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

In my second Knicks Association, I'm 11-1 with the updated rosters despite being top-heavy, lack of size, and a limited bench. It's so great controlling an unstoppable force like Carmelo. He and Kobe are tied for the scoring lead(32.1 ppg). Haven't had this much fun with the Knicks since the Ewing/Sprewell/Houston days.

Derrick Brown has been a nice surprise, scoring in double figures off the bench. He can get to the hoop, and I've developed his mid-range game.

        Starters;
        Billups, Fields, Anthony, Stoudemire, Turiaf

        Bench;
Douglas, Brown, Shw.Williams, Shl.Williams, Jeffries, Mason, Balkman

        Reserves;
        Walker, Carter, Rautins

I plan on bringing Azubuike back after the season(if I can).

Bulls are the best team in the league at 13-0.

          props on being the suns.

To be honest the only move i didn't like is dealing frye and the picks you were in the lottery you could have drafted someone special, but its good u got jr. You should trade nash if you can because he most likely will retire after year 2 i know this sounds weird but you should trade him for draft picks from the worst team near trade deadline trust me getting draft picks loads of them are good for the future. I randomly just did a quick sim of the cavs and i got 1 guy who had comparison to lebron and another to kobe (draft pick 15) and another as deron williams (draft 4) so ya. I just got the new rosters gonna see who i wanna be sorta tired of suns been them to much.

              NETS ASSOCIATION
              ~Year 2~
              Record: 19-16

              Starting 5

              Williams
              JR. Smith
              Travis Outlaw
              Zach Randolph
              Brook Lopez

Randolph was a big pick up for us, we have two rebounding monsters and three scorers and a good bench.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Nice Nets association, I have one too but none of the same players except Lopez. He is a great rebounder in-game, despite not being one irl. This is my lineup, currently battling Chicago in Round 2 of Year 2 playoffs:

PG: Jrue Holiday / Patty Mills
SG: Wesley Johnson / Anthony Morrow
SF: Gerald Wallace / Landry Fields
PF: Josh Smith / Taj Gibson
                C: Lopez / Marreese Speights

Fields was starting at SG, but he was getting tons of minutes without putting up numbers or helping the team, and I needed offense, so i switched him from SG/SF to SF/SG and switched Johnson, who wanted to start, from SF/SG to SG/SF. Now Johnson is averaging 27 ppg in the playoffs, he can shoot and is a great finisher. This is mostly a defensive team, I like to run with Wallace, Johnson, and Smith or else use Lopez on post isolations and pick and rolls. Holiday, Wallace, and Smith get a lot of steals and Wallace, Smith, and Lopez block shots easily.

Chicago has Danny Granger instead of Deng, and Granger is better in game, so they are tough. Rose has also become the 6th best player in the league. Series tied 1-1

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I am a casual Kings fan and I just started my first Association. Here is what I did:

After looking over my roster, I wanted to add a Small Forward. After looking over the rosters, I wanted Hedo Turkoglu back in Sac. I offered SF Casppi and my current 2ed round pick to the Magic. In return, they made a counter offer asking for Beno Udrich and my number 3 SG in exchange for Hedo and their number one pick this year. I accepted.

After trading away my starting PG, some of you may know what I "had to do" next. I offered the Magic's 1st round pick for Mike Bibby. They made a counter offer asking for my 2ed round pick and my 3erd Center for their number one and two picks for this year along with Bibby. I accepted.

Now I have Mike Bibby and Hedo Turkoglu back in Sac along with my 1st pick, Miami's First and second pick. I "lost" my backup SF and my 3rd sting Center and Shooting guard. What do you think? I'm happy with that.

I look forward to a fun season.

I just couldn't score with Booze and Noah was doing the majority of the rebounding and opposing bigs would score at will on Boozer whereas KG shuts people down.
I love virtual Boozer. He has won a couple games for me.

Well I haven't posted in a while. This my Chicago Bulls association, all games played so far on 12 minute quarters.

                          32-17

                          Team Averages -

                          Starting 5
                          Joakim Noah - 9.2 PPG - 12.2 RPG - 2.6 BPG
                          Carlos Boozer - 16.8 PPG - 10.0 RPG - 2.9 APG
                          Luol Deng - 12.8 PPG - 5.4 RPG - 1.6 APG
                          Ronnie Brewer - 4.2 PPG - 2.3 RPG
                          Derrick Rose - 25.8 PPG - 3.6 RPG - 11.1 APG

                          Kyle Korver - 10.0 PPG - 3.1 RPG
                          Taj Gibson - 9.7 PPG - 6.1 RPG
                          C.J Watson - 9.1 PPG - 2.4 RPG - 2.3 APG
                          Keith Bogans - 4.9 PPG - 2.2 RPG
                          Ronnie Price - 2.0 PPG - 1.3 APG
                          Omer Asik - 1.8 PPG - 3.1 RPG
                          Brian Scalabrine - 0.8 PPG - 0.6 RPG

I've just brought Ronnie Brewer into the starting line up a month ago and finally have been able to get him going. Keith Bogans is pretty much done for me. Also like the real Bulls I've played musical chairs with Boozer and Noah being out. Had even both out for a stretch but Gibson and Asik have filled in really nicely.

                          Houston Rockets - 27-25

Yes, the East is absolutely dreadful after the 5th spot.

                          Trades

This year I decided not to do 30 team control. Here are some notables.

                          Pacers - Anthony Randolph
New Yorks Knicks - Tyler Hansbrough and 2012 1st round draft pick

                          Mavericks - Richard Hamilton
Pistons - Tyson Chandler and Steve Novak

Nuggets - Grant Hill and Hakim Warrick
Suns - Al Harrington and Melvin Ely

Pistons - Dan Gadzuric and 2011 1st round draft pick
Warriors - Tracy McGrady and Jason Maxiell

A bunch of other trades but these are some of the notables. The biggest mover is Detroit as they are absolutely collecting up on expiring and draft picks. As of right now they only have 4 players under contract for 2011-2012. One of them is Gordon which they have tried trading it seems but now is injured with a torn ACL and out for the rest of the season. It will be interesting if they are able to move Charlie V or Prince before the deadline.

Wow - what a series the Conference Semi-Finals was! My Clippers against the Lakers at the Staples Center.

I expected a challenge and it went all the way to the final 3 minutes of game 3 before anything was decided. My hands were sweating in the fourth quarter, and I very nearly blew a 10-point lead before some good late baskets put us in control.

I managed to contain Kobe pretty well, and really it was Pau Gasol who was the real agitator for the yellow and purple.

On my side however, Marc Gasol was excellent along with Tony Parker and Shaq, who was fighting to extend his career, and played like a desperate man in game 3. Blake Griffin averaged 20 and 10 over the series - under his regular season numbers but he played well nevertheless.

Rudy Fernandez struggled in the series however, I think shooting a total of about 3 for 15 from the field, including 0 for 7 in Game 3.

So now I'm going to have to tackle a best-of-5 series against the Blazers, who I beat easily in the regular season game between the two sides. However I'm expecting a stern test, and I'm still going to have to play solid basketball to advance to the NBA finals.

Yeah it's so much better than creating a team since 2K doesn't actually say your created teams name but I had to move one of the western teams into the Eastern Conference which I think I moved the Grizzlies into the central division and then moved around a bunch of Western teams so I could get the Sonics into the same division they used to be in
