Yes, like real basketball, cross court passes are effective when one man is beat, forcing help to come, leading to an open man on the wing or in the corner. I just love how basketball strategy is actually useful in this game.

Re: The turnovers are a bit ridiculous

The only ridiculous turnovers for me are when you're going inside-out. I'm unable to lead my perimeter players left or right to create an angle, they just stand there, and bigs never throw lob passes out to the perimeter for a reset off an offensive rebound, they simply try to pass it right through the defender half the time.

The pass logic just needs to be a bit better. When guys reset off a board in real life they often throw a mini lob back out to the perimeter, they literally just throw a chest pass towards the defender 90% of the time in this game.

I do wish the lead passing was more effective on the perimeter. It would really help with ball movement, setting up shooters and just the overall feel of the game. It's one thing I've missed since 2k8, when they fixed the lead passing inside for 2k9 we also lost the responsiveness of it on the perimeter.

If they found a way to combine the perimeter lead passing of 2k8 with the players awareness of the 3pt line in 2k11 it would truly be a thing of beauty.

When the CPU is advanced and my guys are stupid (throwing dumb unnecessary overhead passes) that is where the problem lies.

Re: The turnovers are a bit ridiculous

I don't have problems turning the ball over from my brief experience with the game. Any smart baller knows passing angles and leading your intended target away from the basket and defense. I've used lead passing this way in 2k9 and 2k10, so it hasn't been a major adjustment.

The majority of my turnovers is my fault, cuz I'm trying to see what I can get away with. Basically testing the game out. But I know they are bad passes when I throw them. No complaints from me about turnovers.

            Not at all!

It's all about passing lanes and realistic passes.

My first 10 games I avg 20+ turnovers and now I average 10 because I had to be more smarter.

I practiced on superstar for 3 days until I got my turnovers below 10.

Jwill when you pass inside then use icon lead passing and move him where you want him. That creates the lane and allows you to select which side he goes to.

Re: The turnovers are a bit ridiculous

The main problem with the steals is that your ai teammates do a horrible job of creating good passing angles. this basically forces you to use icon lead passing for even the most simple passes. it gets annoying because it sorta slows down your offensive execution.

I only use icon passing. I have no problems hitting guys inside, creating angles off of movement, etc.

I'm talking about going from inside to outside, kicking it back out to the perimeter. I try using icon lead passing to move my player out from behind the defender and they just stay stationary.

The pass logic on kick outs just needs a bit of work. Guys shouldn't be chest passing back out to the perimeter on resets off offensive boards.

It's not a game killing issue or anything, it just requires dribbling out a bit with bigs and hoping the guys on the perimeter start moving so you can actually lead them somewhere.

It would be much better passing out of the post if you could lead guys left and right on the perimeter even when they're stationary.

Re: The turnovers are a bit ridiculous

My only complaint is the ridiculous differential between the CPU and my teammates in this regard. The CPU jumps so many passes on D, meanwhile when the CPU is on offense they can throw any pass they want and my defenders will just stand there and watch the ball even if comes within an a few inches of hitting them. At best my teammate will get a hand on the ball on occasion but won't actually pick it off - just deflect it and the CPU will recover it a vast majority of the time.

I like that you have to be conscious of passing angles and the D but having a level playing field is huge in a sports game for me. This is something that irks me quite a bit since the CPU has a giant advantage when it comes to this area of the game.

Yeah I don't think it's that bad. A couple of games I was turning it over a bunch but you'll learn how to play smarter and learn what the D gives you. Don't force the ball thats something everyone should know.
