And to the guy who sad he can't get fastbreaks off of rebounds. That is totally BS. Last night I ran a fastbreak clinic on both my friends last night with the Thunder. Westbrook was catching the ball a little above the freethrow line. And we were off.

edit: You know what this weekend.... I'm going to post several reels showing you how to do it. I do it vs the CPU and vs users on Hall Of Fame. I'll get back to this thread after.
I look forward to seeing your videos...just make sure they are you VS CPU...that is MUCH different than you schooling your friends...

Online games are different from player vs CPU games. This issue is more prominent with the latter because the CPU seems to be very accurate in tipping and intercepting passes even on fastbreaks.

LMAO...Your calling me closed minded?....How long have you had the game? And how many games have you played total?

Thank you. It's one thing to have good ai, but the ai in 2k11 basically has a telepahic ability to play passing lanes. Couple that with your ai teammates not understanding how to naturally get open and create passing angles and it basically forces to try either slow it down (which doesn't help teams like phx and gs) or try to icon lead pass everything. 2k11 is still the most realistic and fun bball game i've ever played, but some of the handicaps are a little annoying.

Re: Please 2k, patch Fast Breaks!!

I try to think about FIFA soccer. Even on some of the lowest levels of that game. If you throw pass and a defender is near. He will attempt to steal. What this thread is basically asking for is even if the defender is back pedaling has the ball in his field of vision. That he shouldn't tip the ball. Even though he is looking directly at the ball.

What do you guys want? You want a failed steal attempt (Happen once in a while in 2k10)? You want the player to just stand there (2k9 and 2k10)? I think I would be ok with maybe the defender does tip the pass. But the offensive player still recovers it. But even that doesn't sound right.

                two things

                1. mods hate the "hey 2k" and "please 2k fix this" threads and will close this if you dont change the title

                2. I cant understand why people are quitting on the game on day 2, learn to play the game. Shorten your passes so you wont get turnovers, go into coach settings and put crash boards down and fastbreak up so you can run. box out and use total control passing to get the pass to a teammate on the run. Its really that simple.

                    CPU offline would be great.

(Side note: I have managed a couple fastbreak sequences. Loving the game as is. The level of difficulty is an absolute breath of fresh air. Haven't won a single game yet, but absolutely loving the challenge. Offline gamer.)

I thank what people want is either a) More intelligent ai temmates who understand how to get open or b) The ability to control the type of pass you throw so you can avoid the always perfectly placed defender.

Re: Please 2k, patch Fast Breaks!!

I don't think fastbreaks are broken at all.

The most effective fastbreak opportunities come from turnovers. I don't know about you guys, but I am consistently averaging more turnovers than the CPU, explaining me having less fastbreak points than them.

Fastbreaks are also created when the opposing team is one that crashes the boards a lot on offense, and hence doesn't get back as fast on defense. You can TRY to run on teams that have a very low crash boards tendency, but that does not mean it is going to be successful (just like the NBA). Most of your fastbreak success off missed shots will come against a team whose coach profile has a high crash boards. You're fastbreak setting will also have to be high (obviously).

As far as the issue of players slowing down to catch an outlet pass; in the NBA you don't see very many guys effortlessly catching perfectly thrown outlet passes and in one motion pushing the ball up the court or making another perfect pass to an open teammate. If the fast break were easy to run consistently without hitches, many more teams would run it much more often.

And if fastbreaks were so successful, the Warriors might actually be good.

Thats where totall control passing comes in.

Do people know about this new feature this year?

It is easier to run breaks ONLINE. Offline it is terrible. All 5 cpu defenders SPRINT back, while the human team players leisurely jog up the court. Also big men dont' run enough. Conversely the human team players jog back on defense, which is why cpu gets much more fast break points.

Re: Please 2k, patch Fast Breaks!!

Im playing on Hall of Fame/sim difficulty and im not having any problems running the fast break.

currently my only problem is that if you dont turn up the offensive tempo and turn down crash the boards, guys dont even attmept to cut on the fast break. that should be a bit more balanced out and responsive.

however as far as getting them the ball or getting my player in a position to score i have no issues with the CPU AI. Its a matter of really knowing the moves at your disposal this year. ive logged at least 4 hours of practice time with D Wade and know his moves so well that id say im scoring 99% of the time if theres only one or two defenders back.

once you couple the individual moves you can do to get to the basket and the various fakes with some short accurate passes you will start to see fastbreaks just as spectacular as previous 2Ks. That is the thing that makes 2K11 so awesome, You actually have to work and make things happen yourself. Its the most rewarding sports experience i have had thus far because it really feels like you make everything happen.

In previous 2ks you could literally throw a pass into a ton of traffic or launch up an alley oop and score on every break. looked very pretty because any novice could do it. This year you have to really know what your doing and i for one LOVE it and hope they do not adjust a single thing. as someone said below i havent won a single game offline yet but im loving every minute of it and getting better and better.

Well in reality the Warriors ARE good at fastbreaks and they do throw outlet passes on the run...maybe there should be a rating for that? It's defense they suck at - and 2k11 does a great job at simulating that unfortunately...
