Was expecting this thread to be about how AI teammates are dumb as **** when defending the break.. That actually might be a small issue..

Don't understand how any of you are having problems running the break.. Get the ball in the hands of a quick ballhandler and go.. It's self explanatory and pretty damn easy..

Take what the defense gives you and don't force the issue.. For reference, I'm on 12min Superstar/Sim.. Haven't had any issues with getting FB points..


Agree wholeheartedly with jeebs and dipset.. The game isn't perfect, of course it has its issues. But this isn't one of em... Ya'll just suck...

I still would like to see some spectacular bounce passes during fastbreaks (ala Deron Williams). I was actually hopeful that 2k included it this year because I saw a video talking about passes. Yes they have it during half-court play but I have yet to see it during a fastbreak.

Somebody mentioned that the AI players don't seem to realize where the ball handler is therefore they don't position themselves properly for the ballhandler to make the right pass.

I am one of those people who still thinks that either the CPU defense is too perfect or the fastbreak needs a little tweaking. However, after several more games under my belt while consciously trying to play smarter basketball than I did in 2k10, I'm starting to trim down my turnover and I'm appreciating the game even more.

***Whenever my pass gets intercepted, I used to get so frustrated, but not anymore. Why? Because I started looking at them on the replay, and I realized that the tips or interception are actually realistic.*** Granted, I still think that the CPU plays a little bit too perfect (both offense and defense) even on PRO/SIM.

Guys, I have read through this entire thread, and I think it's pretty equal on the number of people who thinks the game needs tweaking and the people who thinks the game is perfect as it is.

So for those who are really good in this game and do not think there CPU defense is almost too perfect, please be more constructive in your comments and replies. Provide concrete solutions or advices to people who are having an issue with anything about the game. We all need to realize that there is probably a lot more newcomers this year than any year in the past since NBA Delete got sacked. We definitely want to keep those newcomers on 2k's side to guarantee 2k will be here to stay.

On the other hand, for those who are new or used to playing live, please have a little more patience, and try to learn the game. Try viewing the replays of instances where you think the CPU was cheating or cheesing. Try to heed the gameplay tips from DaCzar. Try to spend a lot more hours in Practice mode. This is what I did and I'm appreciating the game more than the first few days I was playing.

Hopefully, 2k can find the right balance and patch the game OR explain clearly (perhaps in a thread) the differences of each gamestyle/difficulty level in such a way that people (especially "converts" and kids) would know what to try if the default gamestyle does not fit their own...

Maybe they can add a detailed explanation of how the various sliders affect the gameplay as well while they're at it...

Fastbreak is very easy in offline.....so if you cant do it it needs fixing...really.....now this is how games like madden get turned to crap...

Great point. Madden is now the pablum of videogames. They alienated true fans of the sport to cater to toddlers.

NBA 2k11 has set a new bar for realism. If people think sim is too hard, then just bump it down a notch. It's all good. Why push to spoil the game for everyone.

That being said, the CPU does cheat on fast breaks (all-star/sim). It forces my guy to step to the side or backwards to slow him down. Not fair!

The only major issue with the break in this game is the discrepency between the AI on the user controlled team and the AI on the cpu controlled team. The Cpu AI is much more reactive in understanding what their suppose to do (too much so in minor instances) whereas the AI on the user team needs more "help". Total control passing is great but you shouldn't have to take control of a player to get him to do the simple, common things guys do on fast breaks. Another issue is the fact that bigs (on teams that run) don't usually react like they do in real life. On the whole this isn't a game killing problem (not even close) but it does need a good bit of work.

That might be the problem right there. I never tried Sim...because the game was so perfect to me on default. Why make this even worst? I probably woud have turned it to seem if I was blowing out the CPU on Hall of Fame or having trouble with the paint. But the game worked so well on default. I totally for got about gamestyle lol

I also like how the give and go works this year. L2 and X and then press X. Its way better then last years lol

Its worlds different. I have gotten between 8 to 16 every game on default, 6 was my high in sim.

Oh ok you see now we are getting some where. Did you even try default the first time you got the game.

Another thing that might help..

Hold both LT and RT and press A(X on PS3).. This will pass the ball and send the passer cutting straight for the basket.. Works great on 2-on-1s and 3-on-2s when you want the initial ball-handler to be more aggressive::
