I totally signed AI to the cavs. By the third game he got hurt and was out for 6-8 weeks. I won that game then by the next game it was so brutal I had to quit. I feel bad for cav fans for 2k11 The team is unplayable unless you trade or sign for someone who can really score cause moe and jamison is not a enough...

I'm totally trading for Nate. I'm thinking of going after Melo in free agency & then trade for CP3 for him to have a homecoming.

        In 2 years I imagine a lineup:

        Chris Paul/Nate Robinson
Gerald Henderson/Derrick Brown (Much Improved by then)
        Carmelo Anthony
Gerald Wallace/Tyrus Thomas (One of them will be traded for CP3, Along with Stephen Jackson)
Defensive minded Center (Diop maybe? Or Alabi)

None taken, just wanted some help on a team to pick. I thought it would help me and maybe some other people out there who are undecided on a team to use.

i know this doesnt seem much like rebuilding.. but im using the Bulls.. outside of Rose n Boozer they are pretty much handicaped on offense.. may trade Deng to get a better scoring option on the wing.. maybe the computer wont ask for Noah in a trade for Melo.. lol..

I created a sample Association to find trades from NY for Tony, and heres what it came up with, for me...

              1.Amare, Toney Douglas
              Tony Parker, George Hill

              2.Raymond Felton, Chandler, Mozgov
              Tony, Garrett Temple

              3.Gallinari, Randolph, Felton
              Tony, Blair

              4. Chandler, Felton, Azibuke
              Tony, 1st Round '10

              5. Anthony Randolph, Amare, Douglas
              Tony, Splitter

The Most realistic trade to me is the third trade. You give away a Bomber in Gallinari, a pretty good player in Randolph, and a pretty big contract in Felton for of course Tony and a backup PF/C. It looks good for both sides as they get a good young PG, and 2 good young PFs. You might want to look at that one.

Any team can be a rebuilding team if you intentionally break them.

I just started one with orlando, kept howard and bass, drafted brandon knight signed turner year 2 and drafted a small forward to replace lewis and his huge deal

                Knight
                Turner
                Sweet rookie
                Bass
                Howard
Reddick off the bench dude can bomb 3's

Re: What teams are you using to rebuild in NBA 2K11's Association Mode?

I'm using the Kings this year for my association. I played about 15 games in the first year and simmed the rest, we finished 2nd to last in the league and ended up with the #2 overall pick behind the Raptors.

Only deals I made first year were a 2nd rd pick, Beno Udrih and Hassan Whiteside to the Blazers for Patty Mills and Joel Pryzbilla.

                    - Trade helped me get out of Udrih's terrible contract, and the ability to no resign Dalembert if he wanted too much in the offseason. Also Patty Mills was a good rental for the year at PG, but he doesn't have a good enough passing ability for my plans. Blazers get a solid PG in Udrih and a great prospect C in Whiteside. Seemed mostly fair to me

Didn't resign Carl Landry due to Jason Thompson producing well last year, also let Patty Mills go because he wanted over 6mil a year and didn't fit my plans.

Went into the draft looking for either Brandon Knight or Kylie Irving with the #2 pick, was nice knowing I was guaranteed to get one of them, I went with Knight due to his speed.

Here's were it gets good. Due to all my dealings and not resigning Landry, I had tons of cap space going into Free Agency which allowed me to offer Melo a max contract, which he accepted.

So about to start year 2 and my lineup is looking outstanding:
                    PG: Brandon Knight
                    SG: Tyreke Evans
                    SF: Carmello Anthony
                    PF: Jason Thompson
                    C: Demarcus Cousins

                    6th man: Omar Casspi (SF)
                    Bench: Francisco Garcia (SG)
                    Bench: Samuel Dalembert (C)
                    Bench: Joel Pryzbilla (C)
                    Bench: Shawn Livington (PG)
                    Bench: Donte Greene (SF)
Bench:Trey Tomphins (rookie PF from Georgia, decent defense)

And I still have 12.98 mil left in cap room with Garcias 6.5 mil contract I'm looking to ship. This lets me resign Evans two years down the line and hopefully pick up a stud PF this FA or resign Thompson.

i havent read a lot of the pages just about 4, but what about the Nets?.. I started one with them, it's challenging, but I feel this team has a ton to build on and can go somewhere in a few years... You have Lopez and Favors who are both young... then terrence williams is a great slasher, along w/ morrow who is money from long distance... And then of course you have harris at the point... Not a whole lot of depth but I think they are a really fun team to try and build up and you reallly dont have to make many moves, just develop what you have.

Only reason I didn't use the Nets...and I feel like I shoudl turn in my man card for saying this...was becasue they only have two uniform options and it tends to get boring visually. I like throwing on the Cavs yellows from time to time.

I was messing around in trades today, the computer doesnt budge.

I ended up having this crazy 3 team trade that would send Prince, Villanueva, And three different 1st round picks. Along with Jason Thompson to the Nuggets for Carmelo. There was other stuff, but that was bascially it.

The Nuggets wouldnt trade Carmelo for Prince (11 mil expiring), Villanueva, Thompson, and three first round picks?

Re: What teams are you using to rebuild in NBA 2K11's Association Mode?

I'll be making changes to multiple teams. I'll be controlling all 30 teams at 29-games per season (I'll probably play 10 games as Boston and about 20 as different teams), and I already have some things in mind.

                            - Since I'm controlling all 30 teams, I could technically control every single free agent, but I'm not gonna use everybody as a puppet. Let's use Melo as an example. Assuming he declines his player option and tests the free agent market, I'm not just going to make an offer with Denver and call it a day. I'll make an offer with Denver, New York, maybe New Jersey, etc. If it's a realistic destination and they have the cap space, I'll be making an offer with them and I'll let Melo decide between those offers himself. I plan to do this with every big free agent that would realistically entertain moving on. The suspense factor is still there.

                            - Whether Carmelo sticks around in Denver or not, I'm going to decline the team option on Chauncey Billups' contract and start Denver's rebuilding process in the first offseason. Chauncey and Martin are both expiring, along with Melo of course. Nene also has a player option. If Melo accepts my offer from Denver, great. If not, it's time for a new era. Could be interesting, especially if Nene doesn't want to stick around. Denver would have a lot of financial flexibility.

                            - Potentially start San Antonio's rebuilding process.

                            - Try to get Detroit and Cleveland on the right track.

                            - After season 2, I'll definitely be looking to rebuild the Celtics a bit as well. KG, Ray, Shaq, JO and Nate all expire in the summer of 2012. From there, I'll have some cap room to put some pieces together around Rondo and Perk.

                            - Post-Nash era in Phoenix.

Possibilities are endless. Gonna be fun.

Re: What teams are you using to rebuild in NBA 2K11's Association Mode?

Have played 2 games so far in my GState Warriors dynasty & I love it. I did trades to which i have gotten rid of 3 players contracts & in return received 3 draft picks. Also now i'm above the salary & looking to make a play for Carmelo in the Off-season. Also, i traded for Demar Derozen (1st round pick and Reggie Williams) and my line is:

                              Stephen Curry
                              Monta Ellis
                              Demar "Lite MJ" Derozan
                              David Lee
                              Andre Bedries

Lost to Houston (Tuuuurrrible 4th quarter) in the 1st game but beat-up on the Clippers in the 2nd game.

Curry gave me 28-10-4 and Demar & Ellis have been great backcourt mates. In the offseason when i make a run for Melo, i plan to trade Ellis to free up space if we're out of the playoff race

I changed Currys shot to Kelena Buikes' since thats really his shot. Not his current one 2k gave him.

i started over after simmin 20 games to see my weak points and i was last in points per game, defense, 3point shootin. Kirk hinrich struggled, and gil took away time from johnwall.. howard and thornton didnt do much on defense or offense and i got bullied up front.
