Just finished the regular season in year 1 of my Cavs Association at 61-21. Beginning of the year I traded a 2nd round pick and Anthony Parker to the Suns for Hedo Turkoglu and a second round pick. I also would trademy 2012 first and secound round picks along with Antawn Jamison to Golden State for David Lee and Charlie Bell. Also because of injuries at the point I traded Joey Graham to Boston for Delonte West. Last deal would be made in January as I would acquire the Twolves first round pick and Roy Hibbert in a 3 team deal with Indiana and Phoenix that saw me trade a first round pick Danny Green Ryan Hollins and Leon Powe. I finished with the second best record in the east and third best in the league.

It's pretty funny that there's so many people picking low tier teams to "re-build" because playing with a good team isn't fun, but then in like 1-2 years the person makes ridiculous trades and it becomes a fantasy team. I'm sticking with my Thunder and developing James Harden (fun as hell to play with), Serge Ibaka, and Jeff Green. I personally think it's way more fun to keep realistic rosters/trades, while just developing your team with who they have and filling weak spots, managing injuries, free agency, expiring contracts....

I say the Thunder and Celtics are the best teams to use, and they keep you from ruining the reality of the NBA (crazy trades, complete overhauls of teams that would never happen, having 3-4 first round draft picks a year....).

I can't speak for other but I picked the Cavs because I've always been a Cavs fan. So for me there was no question on what team to be.

Finally getting my copy today and looking forward to getting the Pistons back to prominence (I'm a Michigan native and lifelong fan). It's definitely going to be tough deciding who to move, though. Rip is an obvious choice, but I've been wearing his jersey to games at The Palace for years now, so it'll be a tough thing to do.

Lots of average players on this team, but not enough size for my liking, so some moves are definitely going to happen.

Currently making the bulls a top contender to be at least east conference contenders.
Once I finish my work there, I'm going to the next worse team and build that up.
Probably be either Bucks or Bobcats

Trying to rebuild the Knicks with Amare as the core. Acquired Melo and Stephen Curry and our team is doing pretty well now

I'm using the Kings this year for my association. I played about 15 games in the first year and simmed the rest, we finished 2nd to last in the league and ended up with the #2 overall pick behind the Raptors.

Only deals I made first year were a 2nd rd pick, Beno Udrih and Hassan Whiteside to the Blazers for Patty Mills and Joel Pryzbilla.

- Trade helped me get out of Udrih's terrible contract, and the ability to no resign Dalembert if he wanted too much in the offseason. Also Patty Mills was a good rental for the year at PG, but he doesn't have a good enough passing ability for my plans. Blazers get a solid PG in Udrih and a great prospect C in Whiteside. Seemed mostly fair to me


Didn't resign Carl Landry due to Jason Thompson producing well last year, also let Patty Mills go because he wanted over 6mil a year and didn't fit my plans.

Went into the draft looking for either Brandon Knight or Kylie Irving with the #2 pick, was nice knowing I was guaranteed to get one of them, I went with Knight due to his speed.

Here's were it gets good. Due to all my dealings and not resigning Landry, I had tons of cap space going into Free Agency which allowed me to offer Melo a max contract, which he accepted.

So about to start year 2 and my lineup is looking outstanding:
PG: Brandon Knight
SG: Tyreke Evans
SF: Carmello Anthony
PF: Jason Thompson
C: Demarcus Cousins

6th man: Omar Casspi (SF)
Bench: Francisco Garcia (SG)
Bench: Samuel Dalembert (C)
Bench: Joel Pryzbilla (C)
Bench: Shawn Livington (PG)
Bench: Donte Greene (SF)
Bench:Trey Tomphins (rookie PF from Georgia, decent defense)


And I still have 12.98 mil left in cap room with Garcias 6.5 mil contract I'm looking to ship. This lets me resign Evans two years down the line and hopefully pick up a stud PF this FA or resign Thompson.

Damn that's a good lookin squad.

Need some advice for my Kings team my lineup right now is currently

C. Demarcus Cousins

Carl Landry is upset with his role and I need some more depth at the small forward position who should I trade him for ??? a good realistic trade. We play a run and gun offense preferably younger player who can develop and get better.

* also to get Crawford I traded Donte Greene, Samuel Dalembert and Beno Udrih to the Hawks

A solid team, i think j.crawford is old and you gave up some rebounders & shot blockers. Try chasing for roy hibbert, very cheap and young

Trying to choose between the Clippers and the Wiz.

Wizards have Wall and Blatche that could be my core. They are also in a tougher division which would make it more of a challenge.

Clippers have Griffen and a little more young talent to have fun with. Only problem is they dont really have a homecourt and I hate the fact that they share with the Lakers.

Both teams are not playoff contenders which would make it unrealistic if I did make the playoffs and that can get boring also.
