I agree that 2k isn't as polished as MLB the Show or even Fifa but it isn't PS2 tech. I compare 2k to the football game from EA. People bash that game like crazy and i undertand that but nobody really bashes 2K to the same degree. 2k has all the same problems. 2k will continue to be the same game im sorry. 2k will continue to be hard to control, 2k's passing will always be bad, players will always slide like they always do, I will always be forced into animations I hate, defense will never be a priority, passes will always go through my body for the score.

These problems will always persist especially the sliding!! NBA players don't move like that and im sure 2k has tried to change it but the engine they use is old . Even though it has been optimized its reaching the end of the road and im sure we will get something new for PS4 or the next XBOX but nothing anytime soon. I've learned to enjoy the game for what it is. Is it the best game ever....Of course not! And guys that say...well...its easier to make a baseball game. Why isn't MLB 2k any good then?

For me....2k11 was overrated. It is a good game but no way is it great! especially with that dreadful bumping issue on defense that only happens because 2k had to compensate for poor defense. Until 2k fixed the player movement and morphing. Then 2k will finally be Great!

My problem with it is the complete lack of non-steal turnovers, which is unrealistic-- statistically and gameplay-wise. Dwight Howard was 48th in usage last year and yet turned the ball over 3+ times, and he is not necessarily a special case. He did this, in part, because he loses his dribble in the post. Nobody ever loses the ball while dribbling in 2k11, so the only turnovers you see are bad passes (which are fine, but do not carry NBA TO numbers solely) and steals (teams avg 7 steals a game in the NBA, 14 TO's).

I C your point Greenieblue. I understand you want people to lose the ball while dribbling just don't know how that could be pulled off in a way that is artistically pleasing in game. Live 10's heart was in the right place but the mechanic looked and felt ridiculous.when venturing into the paint. 2k does have random dribbling turnovers when you dribble into a defender but none in dribbling in space.

I've always thought that spamming isomotion without foresight or a gameplan should result in traveling violations/TO. How many times have we witnessed someone trying to transition from one move to another without any real motive?Just flicking the stick to see what happens? It happens all the time and there is no real punishment for it. This would require isomotion to be perfect in feedback/control..something that has been higly debated here as it not being.

Steve: Very cool. In my opinion, the foot-planting technology is a challenge for all sports games – for all genres. In 2K sports, I’ve noticed it can get a bit clunky at times and this is one of the criticisms I’ve had with the game over the last two years. Have you addressed that? I played through the demo and felt it was more responsive. I noticed on defense, to break out of a defensive stance you can click the turbo button and you break out of it quicker than the past. Are there any other controls that you have used to address this area of the game?



Rob Jones: No, I mean you know one of the big things this year on the dribbler is that we rewrote the way it worked. The planting kind of came in automatically to it. At the same time, there are always challenges to it. If you look at our competitor’s demo, it’s gone. It’s completely gone. So there is always this challenge of does it feel right? Does it look right? For the most part, you gotta go somewhere in between because if you go all feel, people will be saying they are tired of the sliding. But if you go all look, in order to get it to look right, you generally have to wait longer to get there. That’s one of the biggest challenges.

I honestly like CH2k8. Thats the best basketball game of all time to me. Is it as deep as 2k11? No. Did it have as many animations? of course not but I will trade slightly better control for animations any day. Granted 2k11 looks better and is more authentic but CH2K8 plays a better brand of basketball. Thats just me though.

Doesn't it bother you that 2k11 makes the game less realistic (ie bumping on defense) just because their ai for help defense if terrible. Why else put that in the game? I know im a minority but the bumping, ai, morphing, and sliding is really bothersome to me.

No NBA game is better. But it's still an average game when compared to other game genres. NBA 2K11 is the full package, but the gameplay is mediocre.

CH2K8 was downright horrible compared to 2k11...Trust me i own the game

As of now the only gameplay issues i can come up with that cant be fixed with sliders is pass trajectory, ability to decide what pass you want to do, the speed burst given on passing lane steal attempts, running the lanes and offensive rebounds.

This thread is funny! I said less about MLBTheShow and received a warning from Mods (I think they said I was inciting), but I think Czar summed up everything I was going to say, "they do some many things well, until you focus on the little things you don't like".

The bumping doesn't bother you because you cant get rid of that using sliders. The sliding doesn't bother you as well? Please guys don't say the players in the game dont slide because they do. 2k has other problems like The terrible blocking animations and various other thing but the sliding, bumping and terrible defensive AI almost makes me put the game down but I love BB! LOL

And if you can get rid of the bumping let me know how!!!! Dont be stingy lol
