Same thing for trading with legend teams. I'm not 100% positive on this, but if some hex edit the team type from "legend team" to "regular team", we might be able to trade.

That may be our only hope. Those guys did an excellent job last year. I've heard rumors the hexing could possibly happen sooner this year. But I don't know if there's anything to that.

Right. If it could be done, they could upload it as a "master base file" and then everyone could work on their own roster from there

I didn't even know that it was possible in 2k11 but this is great news. Hopefully we get that editor working sooner.

PS3 and 360 correct? Or is it just for the 360?

Ok I have been trying to work this out in my head and see if I could think of a work-around for people like myself who want to make/use classic rosters from a specific season. Let's say I wanted to make a 1995-96 roster/season. There will be 118 players included in the classic rosters that I would use for this roster.

If I start a season with classic teams replacing current ones, make trades so all the players I need will be on 10 teams (should be able to get to 150, 15 players on 10 teams) then export those teams.

Make all the CAPs I would need to fill out the missing player(hopefully still 250 CAP limit) then leave them as FA's.

Start a season with the 10 exported teams and all the CAPs on one roster, then within the season make all the trades and signings to have all the players on the correct teams.

Does this seem like something that would work? The end result would be a season file instead of a roster file but it seems like this should work, right?

Again this is all theory as I don't have 2k12 yet, but it may work for people who enjoy rosters for a single season.

Not sure if the process you are stating is exactly right but yes you can make the caps have them as free agents. Then start an association with the teams you want in them export the teams then start an association

even with hex editor it won't be possible to start a create a legend mode with 30 classic teams and all the classic jerseys/arenas correct?

i have this idea in my mind since the CAL announcement but i dont think it will happen this year

It sounds like that wouldn't be possible for Create-a-Legend because Create-a-Legend takes the 30 regular NBA teams into its mode when it starts, right? In that case, it'd always be taking the current teams and none of the classics. Even if you began an Association and exported, there'd be room for only 10 exported teams and even then they wouldn't be a part of the current 30.

At one point in 2K11, roster editors were able to set classic teams in the place of currents. For instance, I could go to the regular Bulls slot in Quick Game and the team would be the '93 Bulls with their correct jersey at Chicago Stadium. However, I don't think that could be done with every team.

IDK with Hex but I know for sure you cannot with just the regular rosters. You can put them on modern day teams but not use classic jerseys/arenas
