yep but seems like i didn't get paid in full. I got 14.14m/year but after 1 season, i think i just got around $10-13m on the whole season. (Not sure about the amount) Maybe because I didn't get paid while the game sim pass off-season.

I think that a contract is like let's say 100 mil for 5 years, it may build up to the total.. Like year 1 is 18 mil, year 2 20 mil, ya know building up..

I decided to give MP another shot with a 6'8" SF. In the Rookie Showcase I had a solid all around game with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and a TO(which totally wasn't my fault). I was interviewed by the Warriors, Suns and Bucks, the Suns were my first choice but I ended up getting selected by the Warriors with the 11th pick. The Warriors have tons of scorers so I won't have to worry about scoring right away, but the team defense is questionable.

I still can't figure out why the line-up gets totally stupid when I enter the game. Why is David Lee never on the floor when I come in, if he is it's usually a C, I'm switched to PF, Robinson is PG, Curry is SG and Ellis is SF, I played the Lakers their line-up was Bynum at C, Gasol at PF, McRoberts at SF, Bryant at SG and Fisher at PG. We were completely undersized at every position LA got nearly every Off. and Def. board, blocked nearly every paint shot the CPU attempted and ended up taking a close 18-14 1st quarter and turning it into a 49-21 blowout by midway through the 2nd.

I'm not sure about the 3rd contract but the 2nd one I got (after finishing 3 seasons): all of them indicated the amount per year not per 4-6 years. I saw all other contracts in the entire league will build up, even a RC ones, like you said: year one maybe 9.5, year 2 maybe 10.2 but not mine. My amount remain the same the whole length of the contract.

If you play offline association, you will see the option when negotiating the contract whether you wanna make the salary increase (maybe 5%) every year. In doing that, the player will be more happy to sign with you than when you offering the fixed amount every year across the contract length.

I guess that's how it work but in MP mode, I found that all contracts I was offered don't have a salary increase option while all other contracts besides mine have it.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Just had the best double overtime win ever against the magic. I am in my second season with the heat with my 6'2 red headed point guard Ginger Bread. He averages 50 ppg, 9 apg, and 6.6 spg. And no I didn't downgrade the nba roster or anything cheese like that but I do play 12 min quarters. During this game each side scored on almost every possession. I hit the winning three, my hands were so sweaty I could barely grip the controller after. Awesome!

Anyways....the all star game was next, and of course it is still glitched where I don't start the all star game. Really wish 2k would address this problem. Anyone know why this glitch is still reoccuring, i would love to start in the all star game because I worked my *** off all year. Anyway heres a cool photo of myplayer hitting a reverse layup. The clippers bench reaction in the background is pretty damn funny. Its in the post below, my apologies.

                          PG/ ATH/KNICKS/OVR: 80

Taking a little break with my PG before diving into my second season, so I figured I would reflect with other My Player junkies with a few TIDBITS from my rookie season:

I haven't played this series since 2K3, so I had no pre-concieved notions of what to expect going in, (rabid MLB The Show RTTS player), some food for thought AND A LITTLE TRUTH:

Very few rookies (Magic Johnson) have overly successful rookie campaigns, most deal with a humiliating ego-checking first season. However, there is always that one rookie (YOU) on every NBA team that the fans notice that has a lot of potential and things may just be changing/looking up around here? That being said...

                          1. Teammate chemistry is vitally important to overall success
I don't care if its high school, college or a pick up game down the street/park. Playing with ppl you don't know can be a frustrating learning process

. ...Dude, u are the tallest sucker out here, post up dummy...would you please fill the passing lane, .... i just set u a pick why the hell are you going that way...for crying out loud this dude is a ball hog, too busy jacking it up while i am sitting in the lane wide open...GET OUT OF MY WAY I AM TRYING TO DRIVE!!! Ah, why did I give him the ball, he can't make that shot to save his life. Since when do you pass to the Center in the middle of a fastbreak?

                          2. Defense, Passing and Turnovers
Running like a mad man and dashing for steals will get you burned EVERY TIME. On top of that your overplay requires teammate help which always results in an easy basket for HIS MAN! Worst yet, you think its easy picking a steal from the 6' 11 power forward and as soon as you drop down he kicks out and your matchup drops an EASY 3 in your face!!!

I don't care who you are; driving the lane, sooner or later the ball is going to get stripped and OR the easy layup you thought you had is going to get blocked by some quick collapsing big man or high leaping guard coming over to help.

Sure the "hip checking" out of the blue is ANNOYING, but, actually you are not as quick (quickness) as you think you are, and yes that speedy guard can catch u from behind or the stride of that 6-11 forward can impede your progress to the lane (your acknowledgment of the DBL team is weak - OFF Awareness ) !!!!

Big men have long arms, do you honestly think you can just dribble around all day in the lane w/o one of them getting their big mitts on the ball, AND or, that little dude next to U can't block your shot...he's there just waiting for your no ball handling butt to put the ball on the floor so he can snatch it!

It doesn't take long in any professional sport for your peers to notice that you are becoming an offensive threat (mid-range or 3 pt line)(games 35-50). That being said, Mr. Rookie All Star, why would you think that you can just shoot off picks w/o a hand in your face ALL SEASON.

Start pump faking/fake pass before you shoot, or more importantly, pump and drive or GOD FORBID pass to your teammate for the WIDE OPEN THREE!!!

Giving up the ROCK is a NO-NO; and rookies make bone head plays, yes, and they always seem to come at the wrong time in a game!!! And because your teammates don't really know your tendencies and you have NOT been paying attention to theirs BC you are so busy getting "your 3 on", you throw to the wrong spot on the FLOOR and off they go on a fastbreak (dreaded TURNOVER, PLUS THE SCORE OFF TURNOVER, DUMMY)!

                          3. PAY ATTENTION or at least remember how you answered the Draft Questions for a specific team. Well the GM told you that the team wanted you to be the "CENTERPIECE" and your EGO fell for it! Expect a rebuilding process (team will suck) and you will be expected to score and score some more to get your team the win ((U R the Number #1 option baby, ALA, Allen Iverson, 76ers). DEAL WITH IT SUPERSTAR!

                          4. Fill the role needed for your team for each game (scoring, defense or setting up ur teammates); AND pay attention to your Objectives; if you are told to limit your matchup to 15 points; be prepared to stop him!

Oh, you just have to be able to dunk, so you spend most of your points on that and ignore Defense, then you wonder why your "average" matchup goes off on you? Don't feel bad, my 1st player, SG, KOBE, dropped 69 points!

Every player has a bad night, not every shot that you have a "Yellow Dots/Hot Zone" is always a good shot, sometimes its hard to realize that the shot is actually being contested, worst yet bad nights from the field make this ever so more frustrating.

But you think BC you have a 99 rating you can just shoot your way out of it instead of setting up ur teammates for open looks. You just really don't get why the HUD keeps saying "Bad Shot Selection" now do you?

                          5. All rookies have Stamina to play 30 - 35 games (season & NCAA Tournament), expect your player to start getting tired at this point!!! Remember stamina effects ALL phases of shooting, ... so you are pretty solid at dropping foul shots and all of a sudden you start missing them early in the game....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED BY THE AI!!! The next phase will be the deterioration of your coveted FG % on jump shots and or that patentend hook you have from the low post!!!!

                          SKILL POINTS

Take a minute and go into the Manage Roster and look at the top players for your position and see what their attribute ratings are for KEY skills. Be advised that not everything needs to be 90 plus!!! Pay attention to the secondary attributes.

For example all CENTERs have a very high Hustle Rating, that is BC their foot speed is slow and all REBOUNDS are LOOSE BALLS!!!

However, Consistency has to be in the 90s if you expect any long term success at ANYTHING!!! Meaning what is the point of having your Med Shot at 95, if your consistency is just 70. That means when u you will hit the shot 70% of the time when you take great shots (the dreaded streaky shooter).

Also if you shoot primarly from the LOW Post why is your Med Shot 90 plus, YOU DON'T NEED IT, make your shot close and inside 90 plus!!!

Never Ever over look defense!!! As stated BF after getting torched by KOBE for 69, I always start maxing my defense 1st at the Expense of offensive prowess EARLY. Let's be honest, the 1st 20 games they rarely give you the BALL ANYWAY!!!!

The short of it is be well rounded with your skill point distribution, bc, the AI is going to exploit your weaknesses THROUGHOUT the season.

                          Closing this long chat with:

Don't get frustrated early with your teammates and your lack of skills, work on getting better and learning their tendencies and skills. And yes, the AI is constantly testing and exploiting your patience the same way team and their scouting departments would in the REAL NBA.

My embarrasing screams as a PG:
"Highly contested shot there Steve"...No F way he can catch me!!!
"Great anticipation of the pass to the low post", ...DMN IT; get to the Spot and Post up!
"Great Rotation by the Defense to make that a difficult shot", ...Where's the Foul!
"At first he thought he could shoot his way out, NOW I think he should just give up!", ... WTF, I Can't Hit Anything!!!

                          GREATEST MOMENTS of FRUSTRATION

I turned the ball over on 5 consecutive passes w/ 1:24 left in the game (fortunately for us we were up by 20), finished the game with an embarrasing 9 turn overs

Towards the end of the regular season, I missed 3 consecutive layups (96 rating) off great screens (we would lose this one in OT). Fortunately I am an "old head" and knew the appropriate display of total rage was to take off my sock and throw it at the TV! In my 20s I probably would have been replacing my controller!

** I also have a Center (27 games) with the Suns. It's a real grind not having the ball in my hands all the time. The pass/movement to the post impediment (bumping) on plays is a real chore but then again, I do not have the intense pressure of holding onto the ball 24/7!

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

I started a MP with a big for the first time, just to change things up. My 3pt specialist PG is at 99 and just won his 2nd straight title with the Clippers, so I decided to give him a little break.

So, I start up a guy named Quincy "Big Q" Watkins (I thought the name sounded cool). A Faceup C. I tried maxing out his height, but it stopped at 7'2" for some reason and wouldn't go any further, so I just went with that.

I had a decent rookie showcase and ended up going to the Pacers in the draft. Hibbert was the starter there, but I was getting time at PF. Eventually I outplayed Hibbert (it wasn't hard) and cracked the lineup at C by the all-star break. We made the playoffs but lost in the first round.

By the beginning of my 3rd season, I was tired of just barely scraping to the 8th seed and wanted a trade. The Pacers send me to the Bulls in a straight one-for-one for Noah. It was an even worse situation! You'd figure, well, the Bulls need a center who can score.....right? This squad had no scoring options other than D-Rose, so I was grabbing a lot of boards but I was also losing a lot due to my teammates shooting so many bricks. I ask for another trade....and they ship me to the Thunder for Harden and a draft pick. Awesome. I upped my low post scoring rating to the mid 90's and took OKC to the championship....in a contract year.

Strangely enough, the Thunder only offered me a 1 year deal to come back at barely over 1 mil a season, which I scoffed at. I took a 4 year deal at 10.5 mil a season with the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies? Yep, the Grizzlies. Their outside shooters complimented Big Q nicely, and he went up to 31.2 ppg and 12.2 rpg, leading Memphis to the best record in the West at 67-15. Big Q wins MVP, the scoring title, and becomes an all star. He even shot 97% from the free throw line. They breeze through the playoffs and sweep the Celtics in the Finals...and guess who gets Finals MVP? I'm in mid-December in Q's 4th season, and the Grizzlies are 18-3 and leading the West again.

Quincy can basically score anywhere inside the 3pt line (inside at 97, close at 99, medium at 97....saving up cash to max them out), low post shooting is at 98 and his post fadeaway is up to "Great" level, so backing down and spinning for that sweet fade is pretty close to automatic. Dunk rating is 99, standing dunk is 99. He's really good at grabbing offensive rebounds and dunking it in, leading to plenty of 3-point plays. He can score at will and is unstoppable in the paint, but he can also hit the mid-range J with regularity. It's great playing with this guy. He can put up 40-50 without trying. I scored 71 with him one time--a double overtime classic against the Kings in the Western Conference Finals. It's completely different playing with him than my PG. I find it a whole lot easier to score. Once I start breaking the big scoring milestones, I'll start upping that 3pt rating. 10K is the first one.

Now, I just have to work on his defense. He's not exactly a shot-blocking force. I sank the majority of his skill points into upping his offense and rebounding, and now that they're getting close to maxed out, I've got to work on his defensive skills.
