Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

I know this was posted in this forum somewhere. But, what does the Legends Traing Camp boosts. I know it boosts certain ratings and maybe abilities. But, I want to know the specific rating. I am closing in on 1 mil.

Jordan 10 million +1 dribble pullup, dunk, shoot in traffic, speed

You can only use one training camp per season.
      Never mind I found it
Looks like I am saving up for Isiah Thomas. I have a 82 OVR. Hopefully, I can get it to around 83-85 before FA. I have to boost my offensive grade. It is at 82. I think after I boost Ball Security more, pass, and FT it should bring that grade to 85.

I personally think the traing camp is not worth. If u r in ur 2nd contract, u still only get $10m+ a year.

Jordan woth 10millions? Depending on your current rating, Dribble pullup cost u: 15000-20000sp, dunk maybe 2000-3000 sp, shoot in traffic 1000 sp, speed around 3000 sp. U can get speed just doing dribble drill easily. Drbble pull up maybe extremely expensive but u can up it with playing a few great key games. (I usally got 5000-7000sp/ one key game)

I was still stumped on what to spend my skill points so I played another game which was a key game and got about 3500 skill points giving me a total of about 20,000 and I don't want to play my next game until I spend them. Currently in-game my problems are turnovers (I just got 6 in my last game, mainly because of my stupid teammates), field goal percentage (I can only seem to make it when I'm cherrypicking or wide open in the paint) and yeah. My ball security and pass are each currently at a 90 so idk why I'm still having problems.
I'm thinking an upgrade in crossover and then what should I do? My shot medium is at an 80 yet I can't make any shots but what will help me create better shots and shoot at a higher percentage?

Consistency & shooting in traffic would be nice.

Your ball security and pass look pretty good. How are your hands and off hand dribble?

By the way watching Chris Smoove's 2K11 videos makes me want to play the game because it just seems so fun. However when I do play the my player mode in that game (the last time I did was several months ago because I was so fed up with it) my teammates are pure garbage and you have to COMPLETELY take over to even have a chance, which makes me grateful for 2K's improved AI. Not to mention blocking in that game was the easiest and most predictable thing possible.

I am yet to upgrade my hands rating so it's at the default for athletic point guards and my off hand dribbling is somewhere around the low 70's, i think I increased it a little because of drills but does it really do anything? Since 2K11 I always assumed it was a useless attribute, sort of like emotion lol. Which reminds me, they removed emotion, probably because of their realization that having a high emotion doesn't really let you do anything special.

Emotion is useless, people say it's to get to the line more often but that is not true. I know first hand because I've never raised it from the default 50 it's at and I lead the entire league in trips to the line. I go to the FT line a ton, my last game (just an hour ago) I was 18-24 from the line.

My off hand dribbling is in the mid 80's and it seems to keep the TO's lower for me. It effects shooting as well I think because since I've been actively raising it I go to the hole with my off hand much more often. It also seems to help with driving to the hole and crossovers, pretty much anything that involves your off hand.

Wait so emotion is in 2K12? If so then wow, I never came across it. So I guess I will upgrade one ability and use the rest on off-hand dribbling, hands, and if possible shot medium as well. Should I really upgrade crossover? I have a feeling that I still won't be able to blow past defenders. If not what would best suit my playstyle. Well I usually look to set up teammates but when I don't I just try to drive in and either draw a foul or get an easy layup. I basically never take jumpshots. I just slash.

Yea, emotion is in 2K12. I'm not even sure about the big game thing because in my last game (game 3 of the first round) I shredded the Mavs. We are about to sweep the Mavs up 3-0 and I've lead the league in scoring in these playoffs so far. Unless none of these first round games are considered big games and you meant something like the finals or a must win game or something.

In the NBA Finals. We got lucky because the good teams got upseted. CHI lost 4-3 to NJ in 1st round and We beat NJ 4-1. MIA lost 4-3 in 2nd round to IND and we beat IND 4-2. LAL got upseted 4-3 against HOU in 1st round and GS lost 4-3 to MINN. GS beat #1 MEM(who blew us out twice) is 5 games. MINN beat OKC in GAme 7 by 10. So, we are facing Timberwolves in the Finals. I played most of the Finals already. I have been only playing 6-8 min quarters in the playoffs, so I was able to put in alot of games in shorter time. We are up 3-2 in the NBA Finals against Minn. I have been doing well. I was able to shut down Johnson. Hopefully e can win it this game.

The describtion on emotion is just "how u react to foul call." Nothing else.

I already maxed out all my attribute but I leave emotion in 60. I didn't think it make anything differently, other than the reaction to the foul call, like in the game's description.
