Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Rather pathetic start to 24th game.. vs Houston.. already had the ball stolen 5 times while just dribbling towards layups.. and missed 7 layups shooting 2/9 with 3 boards 2 assists.. some player of the week

Even with that crappy start, I'm on track for my first triple double.. and quadruple double if you count turnovers!! 21 points 7 boards 6 assists 6/20 shooting 9/12 from the free throw line, interested to see if I get to shoot free throws the second half, last time nothing was called after shooting 9/10 in a first half. Team down 58-47 at the half.

Up to 11 turnovers just 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter.. 4 more just dribbling alone no defense. I could get a triple double and have a D+ teammate grade.

Ok.. no Triple Double still.. Gortat started stealing all my rebounds jumping in from everywhere, as if the game didn't want me to get it.. then the last 4 minutes Houston couldn't miss from anywhere

I got his Reb maxed. After I got his Pass and Off Clutch maxed, I will work on abilities. It is hard to create shots even with high athleticism.

Before I start my new MP, i will DL a good roster set and check tendencies before I start it.
Me too...I have been setting time to the side to edit each and every player's attributes and tendencies so I can start one final MP to dedicate myself to up until 2K13. All this editing is extremely tedious though, especially when I have to create players (ex. Jamaal Tinsley, Terrel Harris, Jerome Dyson)....I'm using the default rosters as a template. Paul Pierce's roster is awesome to play with, but for some reason, when I use it in MP, it has me playing games for POR and OKC. So it appears that I'm playing for Portland too when I'm not. So I'm just going to start from scratch.

Great game vs. OKC; they lead wire-to-wire until 4 minutes in the 4th quarter. It was a meeting between five All-Stars (me, Melo, STAT, KD, Westbrook). Westbrook and Durant just went ham on me and Carmelo the first three quarters, and than the most clutch duo in the league (we combined for 8 game-winning shots in my rookie season) went to work. Melo and STAT were missing every shot until than, and instead of running isolations I decided to run on pick-and-roll plays, which freed all three of us up. We went on a 20-8 run to start the 4th and up by 4 with 2:00 left in the game...

I'm named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for the third time in four months.

My Player Mode Write Up Number 1: J.R. Howie

I started off my NBA career a year ago. The 16th pick in the NBA draft, drafted by the New York Knicks. Starting as a bench warmer, I worked my way up to Sixth man. Averaging around 8 Points a game, 1 Assist and rebound, I now have strong hopes to improve my game and take the role of starter in year two. Make no mistake, this'll be a hard road. Being a point guard who's only two real talents are Defense and Three's, maybe passing as well, I have a long, mysterious road in front of me. Many wonder if I have what it takes. It's time to show them.
          Last Season Wrap Up

Even though they made the playoffs, the Knicks went a disappointing 40-42, and then were eliminated in the first round by the first seed, Miami Heat. They look to improve on this, not only by using their rookie enhancements, but capitalizing on their now vets from last season, as they had two draft picks who remained. Time will tell how it goes.

Coming up on My Player Mode Write Up Number 2: J.R. Howie Final Scores from the Last few games.

Next Current Game : @Cha (I may play more, but this is the only one I'm aware of, if I play more, the final scores and write ups will be posted as well. Please read!)

My player is a 3 PT specialist PG. I made him 6'4, he's in his second year and his overall is 62. I've been upping his vertical, his Layups, his 3 pt shot (it's at 88 so I've been focusing on other areas more now) and his rebounding. Anything else? My gameplay's been improving a lot, I've been getting better grades. I'd really appreciate if someone read these write up's and gave advice or just read them .

I'll bite and guess you're asking that because the overall is still low heading into year two.

I played about...20 games? Did terrible, played Key games, let him get milestones, then didn't realize that if he wasn't getting milestones I wasn't getting skill points and kept using Key games, so, yes Key games only.

But the Knicks had A lot, with Boston, Miami, Nets all being Rivals. I also played the Raptors a few times for some easy points.

I'm still kind of new, so yeah.

Really? Am I putting all the points in the right places? And progressing at a good pace? Thanks btw, means a lot man
I may also try to improve my dunk rating and start dunking, good idea?

Anyway, write up two probably coming soon. Tomorrow most likely.

Don't raise that first. Raise offensive first (Shot Close, Inside, Medium, 3PT). It makes you a better scorer, and in turn, gives better production, more minutes and more SP to spend on other things, like defense.

It paid huge dividends for me to go this route, because I became ALl-NBA and ALl-Star in my first year on the Knicks. We won the title and in my second season, locking up MVP averaging 24 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 .5 blocks. I am 88 OVR. Do this:

                    1. Improve Offense (Shot Inside, Close, Medium, 3PT)--Shoot In Traffic is key
                    2. Improve Defense (Steal, On-Ball, etc.)
                    3. Whtever else; honestly, my dunk only comes into place on the fast break off steals which happens only like 3 times a game, and when I have a good path to the basket.

I'd recommend playing all the games until you become a starter, however.

Also, for raising anything besides scoring and defense, raise rebounding. It seems to
Improve your overall as those three factor in.

Rebounding is huge for a PG.

                        It evolved my player.

And going along with what K.So said, raising your scoring ratings really helps. You don't have to worry about always having to give it to your teammates, you can make your own shot off the dribble or fake or whatever.
