If the Knick's don't add depth by the end of the season leave, but they are so tied up in the 3 front court players money wise so I don't think they can.

I had no idea how important it was to upgrade the Dribble Pull Up ability and Shoot In Traffic asap when you're a 3pt Specialist; I'm no longer just a spot up shooter who can't make anything off the dribble.

Yeah, I think I'm punching my ticket to Orlando. Not going to request a trade since I'm just under a season away from going there. Having the best perimeter defender (me) in my MP and the best interior defender (Dwight) will be scary and a fun thing to play with. Plus Glen Davis is a 15 PPG scorer now, and so is Ryan Anderson. Having Jameer potentially being a 6th man who can average 30 MPG is exciting.

Can't believe we lost that Double OT game to Phoenix. I got blocked by Steve Nash like 3 times lol. And he never misses. His shooting attributes are so high and his release makes it hard to block. He hit at least 5 shots right in my face.

I hope we trade Luke Ridnour and Tristan Thompson though. We desperately need depth at the SG and SF positions. But even though we have no SGs and 1 (injured) SF I don't think my team is going to make any trades because we have the best record in the league. 2K didn't need to patch the game so that hardly any trades were made. We just didn't want to see ridiculous, unrealistic trading of stars that happened every other day.

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Decided to pick up my old PG after not touching MP in months.

            PG/ATHLETIC/ROOKIE/CELTICS/69 OVR

Here's the low down: standing at 6'6 200, got drafted by the Jazz at #12 overall. Worked my way into the starting lineup and quickly became a star, at one point averaging 24.9 pts, 4.5 rebs, and 4.9 ast for a Jazz squad that was faltering, at one point dropping 13 straight and sitting at 7-22, when fate intervened. I requested a trade, and the Celtics dealt Rondo for myself and a first round pick.

Since coming to the C's, I've been able to relax on scoring, and concentrate more on distributing and playing within the offense. I'm currently averaging 21.0 pts, 5.1 rebs, and 6.8 ast, and through 38 gamers we sit at 26-12. We just lost a heartbreaker to OKC as they pulled away at the end to beat us.

Right now I'm focusing on upping my steal rating, taking it from 66 to 88 in my past two contests.

            Key attributes:
            82 medium
            87 layup
            80 dunk
            80 shoot in traffic
            84 off-hand dribbling
            80 ball security
            80 pass
            88 steal

What quarter length and difficulty do you guys play on?

I want a quarter length where I have a realistic statline and a difficulty that doesn't allow me to go beast every game as a rookie, but allows my team to win games.

Hall Of Fame ; 12 minute quarters. I get pretty good numbers and scores. I average 26/3/8 but I usually run lots of plays and try to let my teammates do a lot of their own scoring and playmaking.

The only thing with playing on 12 minute quarters is that if you "sim until subbed in" you'll play a ridiculous amount of minutes, like 44+ per game. The only way I've found to combat this is to NOT sim until you're subbed in and just let CPU play. Also, when you get up from the bench to go to the scores table, THEN that's when you "sim until subbed in". For some reason, when you do that it takes off an extra 2-3 minutes you play which is weird considering you were just about to come into the game at the moment you simmed.

I play on allstar/sim and my team can't make open shots for their life. It seems I have to shoot to keep us in the game.

Higher difficulty means your team-mates suck more, and the AI is much better. So It's imiportant, me being a PG on the Knicks to run the system well and rack up assists (11.0 APG). Anyways, I started a PF to go alongside my MVP PG:

                      ALL-AROUND PF/SUNS/SUPERSTAR DIFFICULTY

ROOKIE SHOWCASE:I decided to make a 6'10" All-Around PF. I like that the Inside shooting is good at nearly 80, and I can still hit a pick-and-pop jumper. Most defensive attributes are at 70 which is a good base. I played the rookie showcase and finished with a sub-par game: 16p, 5r, 3a, 3b, 1s on 50% shooting. I was still getting used to the ropes of being a PF, like boxing out every possession, cutting in the paint, handling bumping especially!!!

                      DRAFT INTERVIEWS:

Detroit Pistons: Didn't want to go there even though Monroe, Knight and Stuckey are a good, up-and-coming core. Could've been a starter right away though...

Phoenix Suns: Liked their selling point that after Nash retires (soon) I would be the franchise player right away. Also, some good players in Nash, Hill, Dudley, Mk. Morris, Gortat and Brown.

Indiana Pacers: Couldn't stomach having to have Da. West or Hibbert on the bench. No thanks. They're too good for that.

NBA DRAFT: I got drafted 13th overall to the Phoenix Suns!

ROOKIE YEAR: If you're still reading, a PF became more and more fun as I progressed, especially mine. He's strong at 240 and 6'10" so he fights for defensive position and getting blocks on driving players is easy thanks to his length and size. Makes boxing out and rebounding really fun, and I'm averaging 8 boards per game on only 24 minutes per game thus far. My post-game is underwhelming a tad bit, and I rely on pump fakes, and my turnaround J for most of my post-up points. The funnest thing is offensive rebounding by far though. I average 2 offensive boards per game, and standing dunks are also a welcome change from my PG.

                      STATS: 23.9 MPG, 15.9 PPG, 8.0 RPG, 1.4 BPG, 0.4 SPG, 53 FG%

Makes rebounding fun, and hustling for offensive boards is the greatest feeling when I play with him. BTW, his name is Andre Gilchrist (lol). I wanted him to be like Andre Drummond, as a raw prospect who's strong and a bull underneath, and a good defender and rebounder. Moving my way into the starting line-up, and I'll be there in a couple more games of outperforming Markieff Morris. (he's been great, 13.8 PPG, 8.0 RPG).

Like the gentleman above me said, it doesn't lol. Your teammates will still play like idiots, as will the other team. But the difference is they get ratings boosts and get to do impossible things while your teammates can't. But since I play PG it's a little easier to manage. My best teammates are post players so I don't have to rely on them shooting jumpers.

Just played an instant classic against the top team in the East, the Orlando Magic. I struggled throughout, as foul trouble limited me to just 6 pts, 3 rebs, and 4 ast through 3 quarters and I only played 12 mins.

It was a 58-54 game heading into the 4th when I finally got back in. And that's when it all started to come together. A couple of times the Magic seemed poised to pull away, but each time we came clawing back. I had 14 points in the 4th quarter alone, ballin' out when the team needed me to.

It was an 82-81 ball game after Hedo had hit a big time 3, and then I probably ran a pick and pop with Paul Pierce, who knocked down the go-ahead jumper. On the next possession, Jameer Nelson tried to take the lead with a fadeaway, but I got a piece of it and Garnett came down with it. After a quick time-out, they fouled me on the inbounds with 0.9 seconds left. I calmly and cooly knocked down both free throws to make it an 85-82 game with 0.9 left. On the inbounds, they get it to Hedo at the 3PT line and... HE MAKES IT. But, he didn't get it off in time, so we win, thank goodness.

                          Final line: 20 pts, 3 rebs, 7 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk, 5 TO

Now we are 28-12, 1 game back of the Magic for the top spot.

Edit: Only playing key games, we are now at 32-16. Simming was kind to me, now averaging 21.3 pts, 3.9 rebs, and 7.1 ast per game. Starting to climb up the all-star voting ladder as well.

Just maxed out steal (99) and boosted my ball security (84). Going to work on that and off-hand dribbling (84), once I max those I'm going to turn my attention to maxing my shot medium (82).

Just had another fantastic game. Here's the set-up: 82 all against DRose and the Bulls with 22 seconds to go in the game. I drive hard to the rim, pull a little euro-step and draw a foul, headed to the charity stripe. I hit 1-2, so it's a 83-82 lead for us. DRose shakes me down the court running off a screen where I got a crappy little bump animation, and hits a jumper to make it an 84-83 Bulls lead with 5.9 seconds left.

After a TO, we inbound it, I drive to the lane, and pull up and knock down a shot from close range. 85-84 lead with 1.9 seconds left. I steal the inbounds pass and lay it in to make the final score 87-84.

                            Current Attributes:
                            71 overall
                            82 medium

I will try to finish out both of my current MPs seasons with a title.

I got 10 key games left in my SF (4th)season. He is 5th in DPOY voting. He is closing in on 5000 career pts(over 200 pts left), 500 career blocks(under 30), and 500 steals(under 30). His team(Pacers) is in 6th place with a lot of key games left in the end of season, so I cant afford to lose alot of games. Got off clutch to 86 and will stop at 90. I got Sizeup to average and Fadeaway to Good. So, I dont have to drive to get pts. I will boost Pass to 80(his max), then max steal and Block to 95(at 90 for both), then Shot Inside and Close. When I get close to milestones, I will save up for abilities. I will get Sizeup, Crossover, and Hesitation to Good.

Not sure how much is left in my PF's 5th season. I know he has passed the All-Star weekend already and since there arent too many star PFs, I know there isnt too many key games left. His team(Pistons) has the best record and is 2nd in DPOY and 4th in MVP. I dont like how they do MVP this year. I dont think the stats really matter. I dont mind it being the best player on the best team, but I rather see the best player among the best players on He has a better shot a title then my SF. Unlike my SF, my PF wins most of his games. I maxed Off Clutch. I know I g0t Standing Dunk to 85 and close to getting Dunk to 85. I will stop Dunk at 90. I have Blakes Dunk, but I am saving up for Shawn Kemp's Dunk Pack. After that, I might boost Layup just because I am tired of getting Layup every time I do the dribble course. But, I might start saving XP to boost abilities, since most of my ratings are maxed(or close) and I dont plan on boosting 3pt.

I like my playing with my PF not because he is on better team(even though there are a few players I want traded) and better overall player, but because I dont have to face teams like 76ers, OKC.

Just out of curiosity, does having a high 'steal' attribute do anything? Mine is at 70 on my point guard and I didn't notice a difference when I raised it. I usually play the passing lanes or go for the steal when the opposite player is dribbling with his off hand so I didn't think raising this attribute would do anything.

Anyone know if it's worth raising?
