Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Took a quick break from my PG and decided to continue with my athletic small forward on the warriors and it is going great! he finished the regular season averaging 16 and 6. I only played key games. With 5 games left in the regular season, we were down 1 game to the mavericks, and we are playing them. We beat the mavericks in a key game. Then we won 2 simulated games, and we had 2 games left against the western conference #1 seed: The clippers, both being playoff seeding key games. We lost the first game and we are tied with the mavs. I know i need to take over in order to win the next game. I lit up the scoreboard with 44 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and a block. We win by 15. We clinch the eight seed and have to play the clippers again and we win the series 4-1 with me averaging 27.5 ppg and 6.5 rebounds. Curry and i are unstoppable together with our scoring. We also always dominate the boards because when i play, i get about 10 rebounds a game, and bogut and lee are both rated 99 at rebounds.
I have awesome saved videos of my crazy athletic my player dunking and i would like to post them. Is there a way to transfer the videos to my computer in any way?Comment

Can someone post how to do all the dribble moves? Like spin, between the legs, behind the back and other ways to get to the rimComment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Do incoming rookie classes ever NOT suck. I'm imagining a My Player league someone plays for enough time to retire the majority of REAL NBA players, and it doesn't seem like it would be very interesting. The two players my team picked up with the 5th picks of the first and second rounds are just terrible. They have no chance of getting better. They're that bad. As the 5th pick, the guy the Timberwolves picked up came in with a 49 rating. The first two guys picked had low 70's. It then dropped off to a couple low 60's, then... 49? A league full of 49's would be pretty hilarious actually. Maybe I will stick around for that!Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Do you fellas have any tips on leveling up your skill sets quickly? I'm a 6'3 200lb All-Around PG looking to pass first and create shots for myself second. I can knock down most of my wide open shots right now but I'm having trouble closer to the basket, especially with a defender near me. The defender doesn't even have to be in my face and I'll fudge a layup.
I've been trying to improve my Shoot in Traffic and Close Shot skills but it's taking for freaking ever. I'm kind of wondering how many games you need to go through to get to an overall of 75-80. Is this going to take an entire season or two?
As you can tell I'm a pretty impatient person.Comment

That may or may not be typical, I'm not sure. I want to say I was averaging around 1280 in skill points I picked up for every non key game back then. Key games usually would net me double that obviously. As you go up in overall skill points it obviously becomes easier to average more skill points earned.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
So, My Player, Dow Jonez "The Great" is in his 6th season in full BEAST mode. 6'7" 228lb All-around SG with the silkiest jumper on the face of the planet and hops to go with it. I have played EVERY game and reached 99 by my 5th season. 6th season shooting 3s at 46%.
I was drafted 18th overall by the Wizards...John Wall SUX along with the rest of the team so I requested a trade to Chicago to play with D. Rose, SURPRISE...they traded him for me and a 1st round pick...phukkers! I spent the rest of that season well into the next getting booed relentlessly so the Bulls traded me to Orlando mid-season of my 2nd year.
In Orlando, my squad was severely undersized: Johny Flynn, Me, Carmelo Anthony, Ryan Anderson, and Big Baby Davis...not a single 7' dude on the team, but we mad a deep playoff run in my 3rd year losing in the Eastern Conf Finals. By, my 4th season, we were there...CHAMPIONSHIP RUN!!!
My 5th season we were poised for a repeat but those pesky Bobcats upset us with Dwight Howard leading the most computer-glitchy, bs, nonsensical 3-0 comeback in computer basketball history. After losing game 4 by 2 in OT. We got OWNED by this computer dude Chase and Howard...Heartbreak!
That was statistically my best season 33.4 PPG; 2.8 RPG; 2.1 APG; 3.4 SPG
So as my 6th season began, my contract ended and I had a choice of where to play...I chose Minnesota. Here's the line-up: Ricky Rubio, Dow Jonez The Great, Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, Alexi Kolomak 7'1" comp gen player. After a 0-3 start we went on a 19 game win streak. Durant got hurt (back) and we were still at 25-5 then my guy sprained his ankle and I chose to sit out and we lost 9 of the next 11 games. 39-15 presently
On a side note I HATE that wackazz whiny, I Just Wanna Be Heard song...real ******ty!

2 All NBA 2nd Team
1 scoring title (currently leading in scoring and steals, 2nd in 3pm
1 Championship

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Ended up getting selected to the All-star team as a rook! Simmed it though to avoid the glitch.
I just maxed my shot medium (95). I've decided to work on my 3PT rating to get it to a respectable level before I focus on other things.
Currently averaging:
22.0 pts
3.9 rebs
7.2 asst
2.2 stl
1.0 blk
Celtics as a team we currently sit at 38-19, currently in 3rd in the East 1.5 back of the first place Bulls and 1.0 back of the 2nd place Heat.
LeBron is leading the MVP race and I'm first in ROY voting so far.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
My PF got his 1st 20-20 game of his career in his 5th season against Bobcats in a loss.
We are 54-21(1st power ranking) with a 3.5 game lead in the conference. We face the team that is right behind us next. So if we can beat them, we can pretty much clinch Conference. Goal is to win another ring/
My PF leads the league in PPG(28.0), Blocks(1.9), FG%(57%), PER(30.7), EFF(31.9), POS(25.8), AGS(23.1), and EWA(15.2). He avgs 28 pts, 10.8 rebs, 1.9 blocks, 1.4 steals, 57 FG%, and 92% FT. He is 1st in MVP and DPOY candidate. Since 5 of my last 7 games are non-Key Games, I should be able to win both.
I am on pace for Getting Selected to All-Defensive teams, MVP, Finish Top 10 in (Scoring, Rebounds, and Blocks), Lead league in Blocks, Scoring Title, 35+ Double Doubles(already passed it), Shoot 55% or better(56.9%), and 50 consecutive FTs(45). I should get all of them. The only one I am concern about is Scoring Title since I am competing with KD and I only have a 20pt lead against him. That will be alot of milestones/XP heading into playoffs and I will use that to boost abilities. If I am correct, that will be a combined 23+K XP if I get all of the milestones. I will either boost Post Fadeaway to great or get Sizeup and Hesitation to Average
I just got Post Spin to Great and it will be my go-to-move. Even though I have Post Fadeaway at great, I barely been using it because most of the PFs I face in key games have high block or I start off cold using it. I got Dunk to 88 and stay there. I got Shot Inside and Close maxed at 95. I got Layup at 51. I might max it because I maxed almost all of my ratings. After that I might boost consistency to max(at 90). I am about to buy Shawn Kemp dunk pack next payday. Depending on how much XP/milestones I get when the season is up, I might start boosting 3pt.
I have 2 key games left. I am playing to win the title. I dont think I will play after this season because I will have accomplished most of my goals besides long term milestones. My main goals of this season was to win MVP, DPOY, and Title and I am on pace for all 3. The only thing that makes me want to see next season is that we lose all 3 of our PGs(1 of them is retiring and the other will most likely walk) and we are 14 mil over the cap. I want to keep Knight. The only way I play keep playing(from time to time) is if we keep Knight and get rid of Wallace and Sessions. I would love to see Ariza and Stuckey leave too, but they both have at least 3 years left on contract.
Something I want to do better at in my final 2 key games and playoffs is get back to the way I was blocking in my 2nd and 3rd year. I lead the league in block despite not starting until the 15th game of the season because of the All-Star Glitch the previous year. But, I am leading in blocks because of simmed games. I am not blocking the same way I was early in his career. In that time, I was getting 3-5 blocks a game easily. Now, I am lucky to get 1 in a game. I think it is because I am not taking the gamble I like I use too and I am not timing it up perfectly like I use to. Another reason I got alot blocks early was because I use to block alot of post shots on help defense. Most of the teams I face now dont really have post players other than the guy I am matching up with. I also have to work on my timing in give help defense but not giving up open looks.Last edited by illwill10; 06-26-2012, 03:42 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Decided to give my 6th year, HOF shoe-in PG a break, and created a new MyPlayer. A 6'6" 230lb SG(a la Paul Pierce). Got drafted by the Knicks as planned. We are off to a subpar start, at 3-11, but I can see we will make the playoffs and probably win an NBA title in my Rookie season. We will start picking up plenty of Ws as my player improves along with the teams chemistry. I always play on HOF Sim, so that early losses were expected. My YouTube page http://www.youtube.com/user/SleepyNate718/videosComment
