sorry if this was mentioned before (there's 500+ pages) what's the best play style, height and weight to start with a SF?

I would say Slashing or Three-Point Specialist. I've had good luck with both, but it really depends on what you like to do in-game. You can see examples of both on my channel. I have a Brian Wilson (yes, the pitcher on the Giants) that's a 6-2 3pt specialist sf and he still works out. I also have a 6-2 Slashing SG and he's done well for me. Good luck!

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

So I finally gave up on my ATH PG on the Knicks. I play 7 minute quarters and was averaging 17 pts and 8 assists, but the only way we ever won games was if I shot 65%. I also got frustrated because despite getting my medium shot to 91 and my shoot in traffic up to 90, I was consistently missing A- and B+ open mid range jumpers for no reason, while LeBron goes out and hits C- contested shots every time.

So I just started a 7'1" ATH center named Sven Svennson. I got drafted by the Bobcats and after my 5th game (we went 3-2 surprisingly) requested a trade and landed on the Heat. I was really disappointed because the trade looked like this:

CHA sends PG Kemba Walker, C Sven Svensson
        MIA sends SG Dwayne Wade

We lost Wade! But now we have two young, promising PGs in Chalmers and Walker (along with Cole). Battier is starting at the 2, which is dumb but whatever. LBJ, Bosh and I form the most formidable frontcourt in the eastern conference now!

My plan is to play out my rookie contract here, hopefully win a title or two, and then sign for big bucks with Philly, since they're stacked with guards and wingmen but lack a true rebounding/defensive post presence (sorry Hawes). So far I've focused on getting my stamina (currently at 75), vertical (maxed at 85), and defensive rebounding (81) up. My best game so far I scored 16 points and pulled down 8 boards, but we still ended up losing to the hawks somehow.

It's so much easier to get good teammate grades as a center that even though I'm only the sixth man I'm still getting higher grades than I did as a PG playing 41 minutes/game out of 48. I even have a few A+ grades, which is awesome for skill points. Despite how lumbering and slow Sven is, he still finds a way to get gold on the dribble course every time. I tried the low post/rebounding drill but it takes ****ing 15 minutes to complete and I still only get silver. I don't like the post moves in this game because when I drive to the baseline or towards the key I usually end up losing the ball with my terrible ball security, so my plan is to score by grabbing off rebounds and getting layups or dunks.

Can anyone tell me how high I need my standing dunk to start throwing down on some fools? I've read a lot that dunk is much more important than standing, even for big men.

What's the best/most bad*** dunk package for a big man, other than Blake Griffin? Could I equip Rose's dunk package on a big man and just have him throw down like a guard?

Just finished my 3rd year of my 6'9" left handed sf on the bucks and we made it to the finals against the grizzles won game one lost te next three then won the next two to take the game to game seven played behind most of game seven but caught fire in the last min and half came all the way back down by one so on the final play they throw it in to Jennings I was cutting through called for the ball shot what would be game winning two but missed and we lost game seven of the finals. So at the end of the season I was ready to re sign with the bucks to finish what we started but Jennings and most of the bench left so I resigned a five year 67 mil player option contract with my fav team the spurs. They still have the original team but Manu Duncan are rated high 70 and come off the bench so now the starting five is Parker 79 Leonard 81 me 90 Blair 82 and Dwight Howard 90 with Duncan Manu Jackson and some created rookies I think we should make a serious run this year and me and Howard can get our first ring and also help the old big three add to their collection

I plan on turning off auto-save and requesting a trade to the Thunder (from the Heat, since they gave up Wade for me and I forgot to turn off autosave), hoping that my lineup will look something like this:

                PG Westbrook
                SG Harden
                SF LeBron/Durant
                PF Bosh/Ibaka
                C My Player

Hopefully if the Thunder trade anyone, it won't be harden or westbrook, because those are two guys the heat couldn't give them an equivalent for. I just want to end up with Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka and either LeBron or Durant.

Do you know which of Howard, Smith, and Griffin is the least expensive? I'm a very poor rookie as of right now.

I think Smith is only 500k the other two I know are in the millions

What do you guys think are the most important attribute for a center? I know that stamina is important to stay fresh and get more minutes, free throw is important because I get fouled so much, and hustle will help with rebounding. What else should I work on?

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

                        Hey guys,

I'm relatively new to NBA 2k12, I played a little bit of 2k11 last year. I've been a casual (at best) fan of the Bulls since MJ (growing up in Illinois, a few hours from Chicago he was THE man). Never really got too much into the deeper portions of the game. I've been working on a a MP. I'm in my 3rd year, I'm an athletic 7'0 SF playing for the bulls (traded from wizards) and I'm 68 overall. I feel like that should be higher. I have a few questions...

                        1. Could someone explain the dribble moves and any free throw advice, those are two areas I need to improve.

                        2. I'm decent at scoring, I'll put up 20-30 points a game (on the lowest difficulty) but I'm not great at getting assists (usually like 2 per game). I'm also not great at stealing, blocking or really anything defensively. I can box out pretty well, if I'm lucky. I've also tipped some passes and stuff, I've always got my arms up, but that usually leads to a crossover and me losing teammate grade

                        3. Any recommended shooting/dunking packages? Attributes I should work on first?

                        4. I noticed in MP that the rookies (Kyrie Irving and such) are not there, I have downloaded an updated roster before starting the MP, If I start a new MP is there a way to make sure the rookies make it in?

I know that for my center maxing stength and vertical were the first things I worked on. More strength keeps you from getting backed down by other centers and helps with getting position for rebounds. Vertical helps with rebounds and blocks ect.

The best way to learn the dribble moves, shots, layups, and post moves would be to do the training camp from the main menu, under game modes. There are a whole bunch of things that I didn't even realize I could get my player to do. The attributes you work on depend on what kind of player you want to have. Do you want to play great defense and clean the boards? Do you want to play like LeBron and dominate the paint and the FT line? Or do you want to play finesse like Durant and shoot midrange and 3s? The roster update should have included the rookies in the showcase, maybe when you download a new roster make sure you go to load/save and load that roster up before starting MP.

Ater realizing all around wasn't working out, I got smart and tried out the pass first play style and it works perfectly for me. Imo best play style if you want to distribute the ball.

scoring is the best for a pg. all abilities aside from post moves are average. pass first just boosts pass a little, which can be boosted to 90+ in 10-12 games, but you lose a lot in abilities. all around would be just behind scoring seeing as abilities are close to the same, just has a little worse shot ratings. atheletic isn't worth the lost abilities either since you can get you atheletic ratings up to a similar level by mid rookie season with the dribble course drill.

i have a 75 rated scoring pg with 90 pass and 90 speed 90 mid range and 70 3pt with just 30 games played.
