Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

I'm playing with the Suns and trying to keep it as realistic as I can... I'm playing with realistic roster by slimm.

    My starting lineup is:
PG: Steve Nash(12.0 PPG, 2.7 RPG, 17.3 APG) - backup is Nate Robinson(2.7 PPG, 2.6 APG, 12 Minutes per Game)
SG: Brandon Roy(9 PPG, 4 APG, 22 Minutes per game) - backup is Bogans(i just got him from free agency as I need someone who is excellent in perimeter D - he has A-, won't play at all, only against who is lighting me up)
SF: Michael Beasley(22.3 PPG, 8.3 RPG) - backups Dudley and Vesely(both have less than 4 PPG and everything else less than 2)
PF: Markieff Morris ( 22.3 PPG, 7.7 RPG) - backups Frye and Warrick(5 PPG in 11 MPG)
    C: McGee( 28.3 PPG, 8 RPG) - backup is Lopez(6PPG)

Appears I was wrong as Bynum wasn't in free agency and I didn't want to pay Westbrook or Eric Gordon the money they wanted so I stuck with what I got.

Very impressed through one game except with Stuckey. Most likely he will be traded at the deadline. Any ideas on what I should look for or try to get for him?

Has anyone won the championship simming the entire season and postseason? I've had teams that did very well in the season, but never one that was able to win.

I've seen a lot worse, and it was trade finder. Not like the Miami pick will be any better than 27th in a best-case scenario, barring just a horrible sim for them.

How strongly does team chemistry affect your simmed games, and how do you raise/hurt it? I recently saw it decrease little by little (but a significant difference from the beginning and end) after simming a bunch of games, even though I didn't sign/trade any players, and the players were all content or better with their roles.

Winning raises the chemistry and losing lowers it, so did you just lose more than you won when you simmed?

                  All30 Offline Association:

The Spurs have turned it on in March, going 7-3 in their last 10, and sit looking at a 7th seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. If they continue to win through April I might be able to move up to the 5th seed.

Before the deadline the Spurs added Nick Young from the last place Wizards, in exchange for James Anderson, Gary Neal, and Daniel Green; spurs also rec'd a Washington 2nd Rd pick in 2013.

Nick Young is avg'ing 19pts off the bench, and is the scoring punch that was desperately missing in James Anderson and Gary Neal.

OK, so I want to start an association I'll actually stick with. My biggest question right now is how many games to do. I usually do 82 games and sim some, but I hate having simmed games. I like to know each and every stat my team gets was accumulated by ME and only me.

Anyone doing 29 games? I know it sounds lame, but that seems like the best way to actually get through multiple seasons while still playing each game.

I did 29s in 2k11 and tried a 14 in 2k12 ,but I hate not posting real stats. I usually just play 1 sim 1 or play 1 sim 2. I love playing games ,but I love building up teams too so I like to get to the offseason quick.

Doing an 82 gm association with Raptors and simmed year 1, making a few trades throughout the year. went 29-54 and got the 8th pick, Kendall Marshall (Traded Bayless, dont like playin with him) How's this lineup look? I was playing this late last night so cant remember some of my bench guys names.

PG Kendell Marshall/Jose Colderon(Big salary ,but great player)

SG Derozon, Iverson (Picked him up in offseason F/A, no one picked him up during the season, lol)

SF Bargani (Great player when not at C!)/James Johnson/Bench Warmer

                        PF Lamar Odom/Ed Davis/Mason Plumlee

C Amir Johnson (6'9" ,is great on Rebounds unlike Barg)/Chris Andersen /Brendon Hayword (Desperately need to trade because of huge salary, but want a fair trade)

Not my best lineup in my time doing rebuilds ,but the Raptors is always a fun multi year rebuild. I'm playing legit no cheese trades so this should be fun. Kendell Marshall is a great passer so i'm hoping he'll step up and become the new Colderon and DeRozen developes into a star too. Had too pick up AI to, in F/A I saw he had no offers from anyone so I picked him up for like 700k 1 year deal and is a great shooter still with an Ovr of 67. Barg was a 1st team NBA at SF and plays great so i'll be keeping him. We picked up Lamar just unloading contracts to Dallas. Picked up him and Hayword so it game us some game and them some youth. Still looking for a real C to start. Tried to work cousins in the Dallas trade in a 3 team trade with Dallas ,but couldnt swing it.

i just started a raptors association but im only 5 games in(29 game season). im 2-3 so far but my schedule gets A LOT harder in the last month and a half of the season so i expect that record to get much worse.

the moves i made so far are:

i traded james johnson, rasuel butler and raptors 2013 1st round pick to the hornets for aminu and their 2012 1st round pick.

i also traded gary forbes straight up to the spurs for gary neal.

i released anthony carter and jamal magloire and sent solomon alabi to the D-league.

i signed eric dampier and d-league SG jake robinson (61 ovr, A- outside shot) to minimum contracts. i then sent robinson to the d-league.

my depth chart looks like this:

                          pg: calderon/bayless
                          sg: barbosa/neal
                          sf: derozen/aminu/klieza
                          pf: johnson/davis
                          c: bargnani/dampier/gray

so as u can see, i havent really made any major moves so far. i plan on riding it out with this roster for my first year then using my two 1st round picks to either a) get 2 very good players or b) trade them both to move up and get a stud player. that all depends on where the hornets and i finish in the standings at the end of the year.

this team also will have over 19 mil in cap space in the off season so a couple free agents are in order. really every position can be upgraded because the only starter im dead set on keeping is derozen....the only players on the roster i can really build with towards the future are derozen, davis, johnson (as a role player) and bayless(as a role player). aminu could be in the plans but he probably wont resign. i love bargnani's offensive game but his contract is ridiculous and he has no rebounding. he has potential so ill see how he progresses going into next year, but there is a good chance he could be traded next year.

long read but what do yall think of the deals ive made and my team going into the future? i kno i didnt do much yet but like i said, im riding it out for the 1st season then going to work rebuilding.

Finally got bedwardsroy19's rosters so started a new Cavs chise. Want to keep it realistic without running all 30 teams though. Only made two trades year one...

Roman Sessions (70) to Lakers for Fisher (66), Kapono (54), 2012 first (ended up #22)
Ryan Hollins (55), 2012 second to Rockets for Jonny Flynn (66) (demanded a trade)

Didn't really plan on dealing for Flynn right after dealing Sessions but it all worked out. Team finished 31-51, 5th projected. Jumped to third. Made two deals before the draft...

Andy Varejao (68) to Celtics for 2013 first
Daniel Gibson (66) to Wizards for 2012 second (#31 overall)

Drafted Brad Beal (71) #3 and Tyler Zeller (64) #22. Took Lucas Nog (58) in the second as a project. In FA I wanted to try to stay realistic obv so stayed away from the top FAs. I ended up with...

                            Michael Beasley (77) 3 years / 33M
                            Javale McGee (73) 3 years / 30M
                            C.J. Miles (68) 1 year / 2.4M
Fisher/Parker back, Turiaf as well on minimum deals

I overpaid the top two by about 8-10M each (just like the Cavs would have to do in RL). Both may need a new home in RL as well.

Starting season two the roster is...

                            C: McGee (73) / Zeller (64) / Turiaf (60) / Nog (58) (DLG)
                            PF: Thompson (72) / Samuels (66)
                            SF: Beasley (77) / Casspi (69) / Eyenga (62) (DLG)
                            SG: Beal (71) / Miles (68) / Parker (61)
                            PG: Irving (80) / Flynn (71) / Fisher (62) (IR)

Been doing a lot of drills with Flynn/Casspi/Irving.

Team still sucks but with two firsts (one likely high lotto) the rebuild is almost done, just need to let them all develop together. Want to draft a SF so I can deal Beasley or use him as a 6th man at least, his defense irks me especially next to Beal.

Team still sucks but with two firsts (one likely high lotto) the rebuild is almost done, just need to let them all develop together. Want to draft a SF so I can deal Beasley or use him as a 6th man at least, his defense irks me especially next to Beal.
If you wanted to keep it realistic, why do you do any of the trades? Your ripping off every team in all of those

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

I also have a Raptors association, but they are my favorite team and want to build them into a contender in a few years. Bargnani has been hurt for me lately, so in games Ive played I only play him about 12 minutes (I play 10 min quarters). DeRozan has been a monster and even Solomon Alabi in relief of Bargnani has been nice, especially on D. I have 3 first round picks, which is nice but I have no 2nd rounders and next season I currently only have a 2nd rounder. I have the Pistons, Thunder, and another teams 1st (Its a bad team, so that and Pistons is 2 potential top-5 picks). #1 want is Harrison Barnes in the draft. I am thinking Myck Kabongo as well since I dont play on keeping both Bayless and Calderon (and may lose both). The Thunder pick will be late in the first so Ill just see whats available when the time comes.

I may still do trades involving picks and will use them when trading before the deadline. I think my record is like 8-22 (somewhere in that range) and Im considering trading Amir Johnson and/or Jose Calderon. Amir because Ed Davis is playing like a boss and I will probably move Bargnani to starting PF next yr with Valanciunas coming, and have Davis be my 6th man bc i wont be resigning Barbosa. If I trade Johnson this year, Davis will start at the 4 the rest of the yr and Bargnani will stay at the 5, but I really hate him there.

Calderon bc of his money, and for the rest of the year Id just start Barbosa at PG. I wont be looking for players to replace them, so I may go for draft picks unless I find a deal for a player I like more. Right now, the players I have that I really like and will keep for a while are DeRozan, Bargnani, Ed Davis, Alabi and Valanciunas. After that, Im sure Ill still keep James Johnson who's been decent.

Its gonna be tough, but hopefully with all the cap space and draft picks, I can build a nice young team in a year or 2
