lost my first game vs the bulls, I was leading by 15 pts in 2nd half and drose went berserk to trim it down to 11 by the last 3 mins. Still they came back and thanks to Noah's three point play in the last 10 seconds, we lost by a point. After that we went on to win 3 straight games vs the bobcats, wizards and spurs.

I downloaded a 2012 draft class in which anthony davis is a monster, along with Rivers in pistons and Perry jones in raptors.

In my association so far, A Davis averaged 28.2 pts 11 rebs and 2.2 blks! Harrison Barnes averaged 17 pts, Beal 9 pts, and irving average 15 pts 11.6asst and 2.5 stls.

    having fun so far.

can i leave players on in Association Mode?

If yes, is there anything particular i need to do

      if no, why not

also can you ever change a players role without them throwing a hissy-fit

thanks, 4 realism id like to play with it on but not at the expense of my Association, just hate seeing things like Ginobli and Harden in the starting line up.

Click 'Edit Player' and change their role. I only would change from 'Starter' to 'Sixth Man'.

        ===

Once our 2019 playoff run is over, I want to trade parts of the young core of our team, because having a stacked team with 7 double-digit scorers, which actually hampers the development of our 5 young stars (Curry/Muhammad/A. Randolph/A. Davis/Drummond). I want to trade our 8th overall pick Benton Tullis and Jabari Parker as a cap dump for some solid role players.

In the forward slots, I want to model something like the 2010 Lakers (Odom/Gasol/Bynum), after acquiring Drummond. Anthony Randolph is a beast, and I would slot him in as the SF. Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond would form the two PF/C slots, and all three average double-doubles or near double-doubles in just 30 MPG each this season.

I tested this out in the playoffs, after not giving Tullis major minutes, and it seems to all work well. In a recent game like this, Anthony Randolph finished with 18/8. Davis got 19/12 and Drummond got 13/16! Shabazz and Curry both scored 20 apiece, so I'm liking this 5-man combo that I can run.

        ===

The reason I'll trade two 80 OVR players, is that the seven players in our heavy rotation all averaged between 8-11 shots and between 11 and 19 PPG. If I take away Jabari Parker and Benton Tullis, that's 25 points and ~23 shots given to the other five, which would take them into their potentials, especially Davis and Drummond.

What are some good role players? After calculating the rotations, I figured there'd only be 15-20 minutes for the backup SG/SF and only 10 minutes for the backup PF/C. What should I look for in role players?

maybe what i typed was confusing or maybe i myself am just not understanding...

i know how to change players roles by editing them but thats not what im asking. i wanna know can i leave player roles on upon starting a new association or is the feature still broke.

and if i can turn it on, do i have to do certain things like controlling all 30 teams.

or are player roles just a broke feature and best left turned off.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Wats up folks back at it with a new Association and this one is by far the best one i have ever played. Playing on simulation with 10 minute qtrs on HOF. I decided to pick the Sacramento Kings and man what a choice. I chose them because of the current history of the team and they are full of young talent. So lets run it down shall we.

There was many starting lineups i could have went with but in the end i decided to roll with the one they used IRL

              STARTERS
Pg Isaiah Thomas - floor general, great in pick and roll situations and great on ball defense. What a steal for the kings

Sg Marcus Thornton - SCORE SCORE SCORE - can light it up from anywhere on the floor, very hard to guard. Hornets are the dumbest for letting him go.

Sf Tyreke Evans - Primary ballhandler, has become a good leader for the team in the early part of the season. Pick and roll specialist and one on one defending against him is a NO NO lol

Pf Jason Thompson - Underrated. This guy can score, board and block. He has shown me alot in the early part of the season.

C DeMarcus Cousins - THE MAN. point blank period. He has beasted since the beginning of the season. on his way to being one of the best big men if not the best big man in the league. First offensive option

              BENCH

Sf Terrence Williams - SCORE & EXPLOSIVE. can get to the rack with ease. MAXX ENERGY coming off the bench.

C Chuck Hayes - REBOUNDS!!!!! we have our own version of Reggie Evans in SacTown. he gets trash buckets but he is out there for his hustle defense and rebounds

Pg Jimmer Fredette - SHOOTER. fairly disappointed in his play so far. hopefully he can pick it up for us. i see potential

Sf Donte Greene - Offensive BEAST. can board play defense and SCORE.

Sf Tyler Honeycutt - Has seen limited minutes but his length and athleticism has him on the GMs good side

Sf Travis Outlaw - back up just in case the injury bug hits

C Hassan Whiteside - see Travis Outlaw

Sf Francisco Garcia - DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE

Sf John Salmons - i know what u r thinking why isnt he mentioned above. With all the youth on this team gelling together and playing as well as they are he doesnt fit into our future plans but he will be kept JUST IN CASE

Ain't that right. I'd much rather Marcus Thornton over Marco Belllini, but he probably wanted to leave and go somewhere he can start anyways..

Acquired Anthony Randolph (86) from Houston in exchange for Nerlens Noel. Later got Sim Bhullar for Pattrick Patterson (81) who is pissed he's on the bench, same with Quincy Miller (73), since we have Jabari Parker, Shabazz Muhammad, and our 8th overall pick rookie (81) who is IRL. I have several trades in teams interested in those two, which is the best for me?:

                  Patterson/Miller for:

Andre Iguodala (81)/Yi Jianlian (79) - Iguodala doesn't want to be a Sixth Man
Josh Smith (85) - Doesn't want to be a Sixth Man either; 31 Years Old
Andre Drummond (81) - Wants 30 MPG, but wants to be a starter, too...
Isaiah Austin (79) - Averages double-double, second overall pick in 2014
Jrue Holiday (80) - Letting our back-up PG walk, and Holiday could get 30 MPG
Jerryd Bayless (80)/'18 1st Round Pick - Averages 18 PPG on 24 MPG
Tyrus Thomas (81) - Averages 18/5 and is an annual DPOY candidate in-game

Which deal is best? We're loaded in the 2 and 3 spots, but need a back-up, and one PF/C who can fill the rest of the minutes; they'd both get around 30 MPG.

                  ---

                  Current Roster:

                  Stephen Curry (91)
                  Shabazz Muhammad (82)
                  Jabari Parker (81)
                  Anthony Randolph (86)
                  Anthony Davis (84)
Do you trade in to the top 5 every year?

                    Team: Milwaukee Bucks

Notable trades: Brandon Jennings for Rudy Gay, Mbah a Moute with 2013 1st round and 2nd round pick for Lamarcus Aldridge, Drew Gooden with 2014 and 2015 first round pick for Al Jefferson

Also picked up a beast of a point guard - Kyle Lowry.

                    C - Al Jefferson
                    F - Lamarcus Aldridge
                    F - Rudy Gay
                    G - Monta Ellis
                    G - Kyle Lowry

                    Greg Monroe
                    Rodney Price
                    Nick Young
                    Tracy Mcgrady
                    Deandre Jordan

I need a SF bad though. This team is currently 41-5, playing on HOF difficultly as usual. Monta Ellis leading the charage with 24PPG and 5RPG.

Traded Bogut and my 2012 1st Round Pick; I trade at the trade deadline so I get lucky.

I traded David Lee for the 76ers 8th pick which was Shabazz Muhammad which was a surprise

Traded Monta for the Jabari Pick to eleviate cap.

Noel was the 6th pick which I traded with the Bobcats pre season. They were in the NBa Finals the year before so I did not expect that. I later traded Noel for Andre drummond which the CPu offered.

I am trading Jabari for a couple of role players, which would give Curry/Muhammad/A. Randolph/A. Davis/Drummond. Parker and one of our rookies take nearly 28 shots per fame combined so that would make these 5 take most of the minutes and shots which would make Randolph Shabazz and Curry nearly 20 PPG each. Davis and drummond already pit up All-Star double double averages.

I need a SF bad though. This team is currently 41-5, playing on HOF difficultly as usual. Monta Ellis leading the charage with 24PPG and 5RPG.
Nice trade over-ride! That's definitely how to play the game fair!

Hey, did you know with trade over-ride, I can trade Rashard Lewis for LeBron and another player?! If you want we can talk about how to abuse functions in our Associations such as editing player salaries to 473K each to make cap for all the All-Stars! And while we're at it, you'll LOVE this video! I am currently in the first year of association with the Charlotte Bobcats. I have the best team in the Eastern Conference. In the first round of the Playoffs I took out the Nets in 4 games and in the second round I took out the Magic in 4 games. I am in Conference Finals going to face the Miami Heat. I haven't played a game yet but I can't wait to face the Heat. My current roster is:

                              Roster
PG- Kemba Walker | D.J. Augustin
SG- James Harden | Nick Young | Gerald Henderson
SF- Neal Bridges | Kawhi Leonard | Derrick Brown
PF- Tyrus Thomas | Corey Maggette | Bismack Biyombo
C- Javale McGee | Byron Mullens

I am probably going to get rid of D.J. Augustin, Nick Young is a great shooter but thats about it. What do you guys think?

Lost by 20 versus the pacers as we are throwing bricks after bricks. Pacers have there own big three with monta, granger and hibbert plus collison, george and jr smith.

We then bounced back vs the suns by winning by 10 with davis scoring 37 pts 8 reb and 6 blks. Now we are 8-2 next game vs okc 10-0!
