Yeah, I was looking at the generated players in the year 2020 and the tendencies just aren't set high enough for a lot of the players. That's something that is going to have to be tweaked with the draft classes.

Are 2ks draft classes completely random, or do they have set classes that come out in random orders like madden?Comment

Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
Not completely sure but believe is the 1st, as I have not seen any draft class repeat in the future ... not even players with the same name, position and rating ... with the exception of a 2k11 bug that sometimes made teams select the exact same player on a draft, making the rest FAs and the 1st team that choose such player, the only one with him on board.Comment

Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
Yeah it seems like its basically the same thing as last year. I just started my first offseason and in the draft the team with the number one pick trades it for evan turner and like pick 20. I've seen other trades similar to that and its clearly broken the trade ai. This might be a bad year to buy nba2k if you like association because there was no significant change made. And I don't mean new features I mean no real changes made to even fix huge errors the cpu makes and basically the same exact thing we had last year.
Oh well I hope that online association mode was worth it.Comment

They are random. Would you prefer random ones or premade ones like madden? I ask because ea sports thinks that using the same draft class over and over adds to the replay value. That said the draft classes we see in this game aren't perfect but I definitely prefer them over madden because each draft there is a new young stud who can take over the league.Comment

Agree, I prefer them the way they are especially since we can download pre made draft classes (real or fictional) on 2k share..They are random. Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
Great post! Here's my take; I'm older than a lot of you. My basketball memory goes back to the late sixties. I actually remember the 71 Bucks and 72 Lakers better than the Bucks and Lakers today.
That being said, I want to remind a lot of Association players that go ten years into the future, that the NBA changes pretty rapidly. Scoring has been coming down for decades. The game progresses. Centers used to have their backs to the basket, etc.
So the fact that numbers change slightly every five years is probably dead on with real life.
My only complaint with what this poster observed is that guys like Durant apparently stay great all through their careers. IRL, a Durant or Kobe would at some point be delegated to mop up duty off the bench, assuming they stick around until their late thirtys or so. Their abilities would decline with age.Comment

Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
it is good to hear that teams don't stack superstars, but i was always more concerned with the draft. I remember trading the number 1 pick along with other pieces for CP3. So the hornets would go into the draft with the first and whatever other pick they had. So they took Kyrie and then they would take another point guard at the end of the lottery. I even remember seeing the Lakers take 4 points in the draft one year. Has this been fixed. Maybe look at a teams draft that had no one at a posistion going into it.
thank youComment

Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
Random draft classes would be good if 2k generated good draft classes. But the same problems still exist with potential being too high and messed up tendencies and attributes which affect simulated stats. So basically this year you will have to again edit draft classes yourself or download some. Disappointed 2k didn't address this.
From the stats you guys posted it looks exactly the same as 2k11, except rebounds and assist stats were higher in 2k11. Looks like same problems with player roles, contracts and rosters weren't fixed at all.Comment

Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
Who wants to go through and edit the player's potentials and then put the roster up on 2kshare for everyone?
I generally do it like this:
If Potential is 90+, I bump it down 10.
If Potential is 80+, I bump it down 15.
If Potential is below 80, I bump it down 20.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

Re: Some info for those of you that like to go deep into your Association.....
I feel like the 2K series gets just about everything right.....except player ratings. Its funny, as much as people complain about shooting, rebounding etc. ratings, for me potential has always been the worst. I love association mode but cant stand how the inflated potential ratings skew the player pool in as little as 4-5 years. I would LOVE to know how 2K determines the potential rating number for players. You see some guys who have been in the leage 3-4 years, whose in game ratings has barely changed, yet they still have potential in the 80's (OJ Mayo) he hasn;t gotten any better 2k!!!!Comment
