Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default

I'm going to try this out. No slider changes at all right everything is on default?

I've been messing around with All-Star/Sim, since in 2K11 it was the best imo for spec/coach games. I'll add this to my list of stuff to try out.

Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default

I agree that the cpu vs cpu plays better at pro default.
But its still frustrating to watch.

Too often the cpu will fail to initialize or complete a play and then go clueless when it breaks down, which more often than not causes a forced shot clock beater.

This is the one element of this game that is most frustating to me. to witness the cpu's incompetence when the play branches or breaksdown.

F12 if you're playing on PC. On consoles, you probably can't.

Not sure nogster... I've seen that a very few times, and its mostly with Ronnie Turiaf for some reason. It's like he "freezes" and doesn't know what to do if he has it too late in the clock. Other teams/players, I've not seen that problem. Seriously, it's one of the best playing games I've had.

And bcruise, no doubt, the Magic are absolute gunners. They were pulling up on the fast break for 3, driving and dishing, breaking down my zone throwing it to the interior, who would kick to the corner... just a thing of beauty.

I've also seen some pump fakes, take one dribble to the right or left as I go flying by... and drilling the jumper.

How did it feel to you? Looks like you pulled it out in the end, as the Nets probably should.

It felt great, the CPU wasn't insane with the 3 point shooting on Pro. They had a good run on me in the 2nd, but then I clicked. Kept giving off to Lopez, and he did his thing. He began getting double teamed too, and they shut me down to 4 points in the 4th, but Anthony Morrow got it done. 18 points

                    Beautiful? Yes.
                    Optimal? No.

This game is the best sports game CPU/CPU experience I've ever had, but playing on Pro Default isn't the ideal setting. It just produces a semi-realistic looking experience that can be made much, much better by a few slider changes.

This has almost nothing to do with sliders. Most of that crap comes from the Freelance tendencies.

The thing I was surprised with the most (pleasantly), is that even with the fouls maxed, it still let the players play. There were 6 blocks in the game, and I was afraid that setting would result in none. It also didn't kill the fast breaks - both teams were able to score on them without fouls being called.

I think the reason it flows so well has to do with the help defense reacting more to the play instead of knowing where it's going - when the help arrives late it creates more 1 on 1 situations and allows players to show off their individual abilities more. It also causes more fouls because the help guy is usually just trying to get his body in the way to prevent an easy score.

To each his own. There are quite a few of us who are really enjoying the experience on Pro Default, with only foul slider tweaks. But it's not for everyone.

So while it may not be optimal for you, there is someone else out there that it will be optimal for (like me)

You won't know optimal until you try something else. As long as you enjoy the experience, that's all that really matters at the end of the day. It's a testament to 2K that the game even resembles NBA basketball on a default level.

Apparently, I have tried several different settings, which led me to find that this was probably the best option... FOR ME. And several others.

It is optimal for me, and that's all I care about. Glad others are getting as much enjoyment out of it as I am.
