I'll post some results someday on how these effect Legends Team in my all Legends Season. After playing one game it looked pretty well, the 02 Kings fell to the 96 Bulls. MJ and Pippen played a strong game and Rodman was getting a lot of rebounds.
For a realistic gameplay experience, try Pro/Default Slider settings

I'll do whatever it takes to win games, whether it's sitting on a bench waving a towel, handing a cup of water to a teammate, or hitting the game-winning shot.

Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default
Well from what Im seeing, The cpu vs cpu play is anything but beautiful.
More like incompetent and clueless.
Pro, default sliders [except for a bump in fouls].
Still seeing the cpu fail to run plays effeciently or at all. resulting in shot clock beating one on one shots by the player who just happens to have the ball.
Doesnt matter what the teams game tempo is, what their run plays are.
its all the same.
Im watching steve nash hold the ball for a painful 12 secs while Amare and Marion have a double screen in place. and only when the oppositions pick defender gets out of position or something does nash decide to utilize it.
Ive tested to see if its just my roster Im working on. If any of the changes I made to improve the cpu play has done the opposite and its not. the default roster does the same. except there is more big man sizing up in desperation.
When the cpu actually executes a play its nice. but more often than not, at least what Im watching, the cpu vs cpu games are frustrating to watch.Comment

Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default
My fault that they can execute plays? well. pretty much.
Even d_czar agreed that cpu vs cpu is not pretty to watch. I agree with him that human controlled defenders are not as accurate in positional defense and the cpu can read this and execute the play more effeciently.
The cpu doesnt get "confused", for lack of a better word in branched plays.Comment

Its like in racing simulations where AI drivers can make little mistakes at occasions which open up opportunities for other (AI) drivers and make the whole thing look more realistic and natural.Comment

Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default
I feel like I took this thread off topic by asking WTF a question about Pro/Default. Sorry OP, lol. This is supposed to be CPU vs CPU not User vs CPU is Beautiful on Pro/Default.
Nevertheless, CPU vs CPU and User vs CPU is both beautiful on Pro/Default.
Once again, sorry - but good find!Comment

Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default
I haven't played on Pro/Default yet, but the reason I feel you guys are enjoying it more is because the game was programmed at Pro/Default (in my opinion). Instead of programming each individual difficulty, I think they just use code or whatever for the other difficulty settings. This is why Superstar and Hall of Fame has the CPU normally playing above their abilities because the focus here is on challenge, not legitimately making the computer smarter.
I've noticed this is last year's game as well. When changing difficulty settings, the computer isn't playing you better or making better decisions. It just gets attribute bumps in different areas, while the human player gets some handicaps as well to resemble a challenge. Try playing a game on the higher settings, then play again on the lower settings. You'll see that things such as controller responsiveness varies depending on the difficulty setting.Last edited by Mos1ted; 10-16-2011, 02:36 PM.According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.Comment

But if an AI is capable to play smart, they wouldn't hold back with it on medium difficulty.Comment

Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default
i usually play nba 2k on hall of fame, but with all of my user attributes cranked to 100 with the exception of vertical, blocking and stealing left at default. kinda crazy yeah i know, but i find it fun.
anyway, i just tried pro/default and i really enjoyed myself. realistic gameplay like people have been saying, but i totally shut out the vintage warriors with the 96 bulls. is that realistic?
i set all of my rosters so all starters get 48 minutes with fatigue off. i just like it that way - **** the bench, haha.Comment

Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default
I can win on hof but enjoy it more by having the coach control the plays and subs. I do agree that once u move the difficulty from the default level the cpu in all sports games get attribute increases...I don't like adjusting sliders and probably will play the greatest games on pro default and then decide.Comment

Re: CPU vs CPU Is Beautiful On Pro/Default
WTA, you must open a new thread with different title, (that´s the thing that attracts people to read it) like the best sim you get it with Pro/Default or something like that, because i think most people don´t care about CPU vs CPU games, so this way more people are gonna know this and we can all have more feedback.Comment
