Re: For a realistic gameplay experience, try Pro/Default Slider settings

My settings are currently on All-Star difficulty with Simulation sliders. I have turned offensive rebounding up to 100 for both Human and CPU sides and I adjusted the Human Steal Success from 25 to 50 while leaving the CPU alone at 25.

I finished a game a little while ago as the '98 Chicago Bulls vs the '98 Lakers and it was ****ing(excuse my language) awesome. The entire game was very competitive with neither team gaining more than an eight point lead at any one time. The lead changes in the first half alone was something along the ligns of 10-12 changes. Jordan finished with 34 points with a few blocks and steals. I managed to contain Shaq with double teams and fouls so he only managed 10 points. It came with a high cost though as I fouled out my first and second centers. I had Rodman playing Center from midway through the third quarter until the game ended because of this. Anyway, it's been the best experience with this game I've had by far and it literally came down to the buzzer. I hit a midrange shot with Jordan to put me up 99-98 with about 11 seconds left. Lakers called timeout, inbounded to Shaq so I immediately fouled him. I forget we weren't over the limit so they inbounded again with about 8 seconds left and ended up with Fisher taking a last second three which bounced around the rim(it felt like forever) and eventually dropped in. It was crazy because of the crowds reaction and the announcers reactions.

I probably would've won by a decent margin but Scottie had a horrible game for me and Kukoc couldn't score enough to make up for it.

On 2kshare there´s a guy who has uploaded REALLY solid and very realistic sliders which works with any difficulty..i´ve tested it more than once, they are truly a thing of beauty..the CPU doesn´t shoot a lot of threes, and the FG % is around 47 %...believe me it´s worth a try, look for imperial(gamesilders)he has the seond highest download so far....

Re: For a realistic gameplay experience, try Pro/Default Slider settings

I have a question for some of you guys and I wouldn't even know where to post this but I'm using these setting so here should be good.

Something I am noticing while playing through my association is that I can tell if I am going to win or lose a game halfway through the first quarter. Maybe Im going crazy, but it has never failed. A common theme when I lose, is I go up 5-0, then the computer comes back on something like a 13-0 run. At that point, I generally know how the game will play out. I will come back to within a few before halftime, but then I always start missing shots and they go right back up over 10 before half and I generally lose by 15-20.

On the flip side, when I am going to win a game, I know because I will go on a run and follow a similar pattern to where I win by 20. So far through about 15 games, I have always won by 15-20 or lost by 15-20. I have not had a game come down to the wire yet. It also seems more likely I win home games and lose away games.

What clued me into this was I got really frustrated on like my second game of the season because the thunder were just destroying me. I couldn't make layups, it was just ridiculous. I was going to rage quit, but then I'm like you now what, the Pacers have games like this, just play it out and learn from it.

The next game I came out an whooped the Celtics. The next game I came out and whooped the Rockets, then I went to Milwaukee and had nearly the same experience as the Oklahoma game and so on and so forth, the trend continued, but they are all the same.

Right now my win-loss record is about what you would expect the Pacers to be at, so I'm not crying out that its unrealistic, I just don't feel like my play has as much impact on the results or something. It feels scripted like I can say I'm going to win or lose halfway through the 1st quarter.

Anyone else encounter this or something similar?

Thanks for the info, is this using Real FG% or Shotstick Timing?

Yeah, I played 3 games in my Association mode and I blew the AI out in all 3 games and I shot an incredibly high percentage. I played the Wizards and Rockets, so I thought maybe because they aren't the best teams in the league, this was the reason. Then I played the Mavs and I blew them out as well. Another thing that was weird was the fact that Dirk hardly ever touched the ball and when he did start getting touches, it was in the 4th quarter, and the Mavs had no chance of coming back.

I'm not really sure what to do at this point..lol. I don't know if I should go back to All Star Sim or try something else.

I'm so glad I saw this thread. The game is now both fun and realistic. I never thought that would happen. Thank you!

You do need to make some minor adjustments to fatigue and fouls. And turn down the CPU 3 Pt Shot Tendency. Other than that, it is amazing how good this game is now.

Got away from Yellz sliders for a week now and have been playing pro/default, and am liking it alot for Greatest Mode. It seems a little too easy on quick games w/current teams, but I'm sure a little tweaking can fix that, I'm just not sure what to do.

same issues with these also, cpu still runs around frantically, big men playing like allen iverson and rafer alston. My teammates still leave there men wide open without any reasoning why. Wassup with the frantic pace of the CPU, they run behind screens, moving screens, they have the big men dribble out by the 3pt line and then attack like MJ in his prime. I was using yellaz sliders but they are donkey cheeks also. I think more then anything it's something internal at 2k, things are crazy. It's a good game but when I see the craziness every game it makes me wonder.

For what its worth, to come back to this again, having played more, I have gotten some close ones in. Actually the last 2 games I have played came down to the wire with the final basket being the winning one.

One thing that may be contributing sometimes is that my frustration causes me to not play defense 100% and I might force some shots which I guess puts me in a position to lose or get behind more often. Still though, Im going to play more and see if this goes away some.

According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.

Yeah, I think I'm turning Clutch off moving forward. I'm also going to give Pro/Default a shot. I've been on All-Star/Simulation, but have not been having fun, especially when Spud Webb hits 3 step-back 3-pointers (all contested) to beat the shot clock. That really ruins the experience for me, because there is a lot of things this game does well. Hopefully, Pro/Default will bring the fun back for me.
