You know you're dealing with a fool when he thinks Jeremy Lin is a better PG than Kidd, Rubio, Conley and Curry.

Re: Jeremy Lin
Iverson was a fine player - he just wasn't amazlin'.
Iverson's first 5 games - 107 points, 22 assists, 11 steals - 2-3 record.
Lin's first 5 games as starter - 134 points, 40 assists, 10 steals - 5-0 record.
I repeat, Iverson was a fine player, Jeremy Lin's just doing it better. I mean, career wise, you're going to win the argument, because Lin has only started 5 games.. but as of right now, Jeremy Lin's pace, is simply, amazlin'.
And that pace deserves a ratings boost in 2k12 - 80, at the very least.
Let's forget Iverson, since he's been irrelevant for years now, and list a few current PGs in the NBA and their 2k rating, that Jeremy Lin is better than.
Kimba Walker (76 overall.)
Brandon Jennings (78 overall)
Mike Conley (77 overall)
Devon Harris (73 overall)
Jason Kidd (77 overall)
Ricky Rubio (77 overall)
Steph Curry (80 overall)
There's a lot more, of course, but this is just a small list that should be considered when doing Lin's 2k rating. He should be anywhere around 77-80.
69 is still too low for a guy like Jeremy Lin. Ricky Rubio got a major boost, and Jeremy Lin, who willed his team to victory again tonight, by showing up Rubio, is on par with some of the greatest PGs in the league today.
I haven't seen a guy like Lin, since Magic Johnson came into the league.
It's completely Amazlin'

Re: Jeremy Lin
"Pessimists" trying to shut him down is just as "stupid" as others comparing him to legends. Its the other side of the same coin. I find most the "pessimists" in this thread are just saying. Look at the sample size. Hell, its barely a sample size to even look at. If someone wants to be optimist that Lin will continue or every improve on his recent play, great but lets not pretend that point of view is superior to a pessimists viewpoint.
This guy could well be a Steve Nash, Tiny Archibald type of player but lets see how the next month goes; The rest of the season goes, etc before annotating him something more than a possible star. Sports history is loaded with guys who had a good week, month, and even a season and fall back into the woodwork. Sport history also has guys who came out of nowhere and became stars. Can we at least wait and see for awhile before stating this guy is either?
At this point Lin could very well become the next John Paciorek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Paciorek) & fade into oblivion or very well turn into a HoF player.....most likely landing somewhere in between the two extremes. Time will tell, until then just enjoy the ride.Comment

Re: Jeremy Lin
I remember someone saying the overall rating is just based off of trade value. Although someone like Anthony Morrow is 64 overall, he has very high shooting attributes: 84 close, 84 midrange, 88 3PT. No doubt with those ratings he can put up 40 points in a game if you allowed him.
What you did with Chris Paul, making him a 64 is only changing his attributes - not his tendencies or abilities. He still has the tendency to play like Chris Paul at 64, but not be all dominant.Comment

Re: Jeremy Lin
You just named a list of point guards that are all better than Jeremy Lin talent wise and would put up similar numbers in the D'Antoni system
The only POSSIBLE exception (at this point in his career) is Jason Kidd but he has a high overall because he is a great rebounder for a point guard and one of the best passing point guards of all time. But I'm sure you already believe Jeremy Lin to be a better passer and have a higher basketball awareness than Jason KiddI'm just an old guy sports gamer...Comment

That's what you get playing on a crappy team without amare and melo, put John Lucas III there and give him the ball and the right to shoot and do whatever he wants and he would average +20ppgComment
