    Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

-‘Can’t handle the pass’ animation controls: I’m sure I speak for everyone here when I say we NEED some control over these. How about if you let go of the directional stick and turbo the animation ends sooner. Also, passing during the animation could have you do a lower accuracy shovel pass, similar to the mid-air pass. That way you can get rid of the ball before the D snatches it from your flailing, Kwame-like hands.

Same things should apply in those 'losing the ball while going to the hole' animations.

-Pass fakes while moving: Since they now made it harder to pass in the paint, I would like to be able to do a pass fake while moving that I could branch into a real pass or a layup. The controls could be pressing the pass fake button during movement, then quickly doing a flick flick-type thing into a shot stick layup or another pass. The D anticipates passes so much that this will be a way to make them pay for over anticipating. The layups after a pass fake could be lower percentage, and the 2nd real pass could be lower accuracy. Rondo has a pass fake layup, but I want total control over it.

-Avoid the bumping: If the d wants to bump me off the ball, maybe we can press turbo early in the bump animation to sprint out of it sooner and get some separation. It'll make him pay a little for playing me so close.

-More dunk controls: Contact dunks have always been automatic, so maybe give us control over the type of dunks we do so when we do get a dunk in someone’s face it’ll feel more like we did something. I’d like to have the ability to choose which hand to dunk with(like you can choose which hand to layup with) by pressing right or left and turbo. Also, pulling back and turbo could make you put the ball behind your head to protect it from forward blockers(doing that in the open court would result in the usual backwards dunk). Pressing forward and turbo would be the usual dunk.

I'd also like it if you had to do some 'special move' maneuvers for fancier dunks instead of them being automatic, like back then forward for a windmill or a Zangief Spinning Piledriver stick motion for a 360. That way more complex dunks are more rare and impressive when you pull them off. Bring back the rim hang dunk option, too. I liked that.

-My Player-specific commentary: The broadcast crew hardly mentions your My Player at all. It would be nice if they can talk about him just a bit; I’m working hard and I just want some recognition *sniff*. Maybe some general status commentary, like how he is doing his rookie year, what he can do to crack the starting lineup, if he is one of the best bench players in the league, if he should have been taken higher or lower in the draft, etc. If he is having a career game, mention how the rookie is growing up in front of their eyes and stuff like that. Then when he is more established, how he has improved, can he make the Allstar team, what he can do better, etc. Then when he is one of the best in the league, talk about him like they talk about some other Allstars. Also mention him among the league leaders in certain stats when that graphic comes up. Little comments like that will make the My Player really feel like he exists in the NBA instead of just a created thing.

Sponsor offers in My Player...turning down 1 offer can make it so you get a different one soon.

The ability to choose your voice in My player. And more dialog options. The voice on there sucks...and I hate when my player finishes an interview with "ya feel me" or something super lame like that.

            Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

These are just for My Player.

I should be allowed to chose what my secondary position is.

And your My Player should get traded without you asking for a trade.

And instead of just having that rookie showcase game, have like "March Madness" games prior to the showcase game like NCAA does with their Campus Legend mode.

I don't how it was in 2K11, but in 2K12 I was drafted with 14th overall pick but Houston still had their "real" 14th overall pick on the roster. Smh.

And I wish they wouldn't have the exact draft as it was. Have teams draft on what they did in the "March Madness" tourney & the showcase game.

And fix the effing trade logic.

And have some kind of generic story behind your My Player that the commentators talk about during the game.

for the 3 pt shooting contest and dunk contest(in association) if you have a player in one of those contests you should be able to play as that player.

                        addlast name bob to database.

also make CAL and myplayer Identical. If I want to play as a real person instead of created person I should be able to do interviews get shoe contracts etc.. just like in MYPLAYER.

If playing CAL/MYPLAYER once i become best player on team I don't want to keep hearing about another person at beginning of each game that ain't me. Like playing with the clippers as McGee (93) rated over blake griffin (92) all they talk about is blake griffin when I'm doing Number 1 option.

Ability to not get drafted/last pick of draft/draft day trade.

                        More customization

More abilites to by with money. Add some defense ability.

Note: The following list was not typed out upon this posts. This is simply a collection of notes I have been taking since playing NBA 2K12. I normally do this for every series, and hopefully, 2K will notice some of my feedback and give careful consideration into them.

Good- What to Keep for NBA 2K13
                          • Although some may disagree, I feel that this year’s My Player A.I teammates are much smarter and play more like a team now. Hopefully this function can only get better.
                          • Ability for users to break down player statistics (e.g., view average statistics for a certain month or opponent as well as how a player plays at home and on the road).
                          • Ability for users to change the appearance and other features of their My Player even after they finish creating it.

                          Presentation
                          • Player introductions before a game, particularly for playoff games.
                          • When a player goes to the bench, show him putting back on his warm-up clothes or a towel over his back or covering his legs.
                          • When a team makes a run, and the opposing team calls a time-out, show players from the bench walking over to the players on the court, excited and giving them high-fives and chest-bumps, etc.
                          • Allow the option for users to make the scoreboard and other various images (such as displaying league leaders for steals, etc.) that could potentially block the users view on the court transparent.
                          • Show teams shaking hands with each other at the end of a playoff series.
                          • There shouldn’t be too much celebration after winning Game 1 of a playoff series. In 2k12, players are celebrating as if they won the championship.

                          Miscellaneous
                          • Allow the option for players to have home and away accessories. For example, Dwyane Wade wears a white sleeve during home games and a black sleeve during away games.
                          • Allow users to view playoff statistics in the player card.
                          • Add more creative tattoo designs for CAP- nobody is going to get a tattoo of a big letter on their neck! Also allow users to select where they would like their tattoos to be placed, rather than at a pre-defined spot.
                          • Add more optional accessories for CAP, such as goggles and face masks.
                          • Fan request- Since my last name isn’t recognized in the game could you please have the announcers pronounce the surname ‘Tcha’, pronounced as ‘cha’.

                          Gameplay
                          • Make it much quicker for a player to dribble up the other end for the open basket during a fast break (this mainly applies to quick and agile players like John Wall, Lebron James, etc.). In 2K12, it takes Dwyane Wade five dribbles to get to the other end, whereas in real-life, it only takes him 3 dribbles. See here YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qxXLV3WIlQ
                          • Players with great playmaking abilities, such as LeBron James, Hedo Turkoglu, Dwyane Wade, etc., should be able to call players, and not just limited to point guards.
                          • Injuries should mainly occur in a way where the game is still running and not when a play stops. For example, in 2K12, the majority of the injuries occur after a play has ended, whether it be grabbing a rebound, or when a player diving for the ball going out of bounds. There should be instances where a player is hurt, yet the game continues (thus making it a 4 on 5). As a result, this would force the team to immediately call a time-out. This function is similar to the FIFA series where the game will continue playing even though a player is hurt. In addition, injuries should be more realistic- I have seen so many players getting injured after grabbing a rebound where there was no contact made at all.

                          My Player
                          • Playoff games should also be considered as ‘key games’ and users should receive 2x skill points and possibly even 3x during the finals. The reason is because the playoff is where a player truly makes his case in the NBA and legacy. Regardless of the opponent, playoff games are always more important than regular season games.
                          • Unless you are playing for the Heat, post-game interviews are rarely held in a press conference during the regular season. Press conferences should only be limited to the all-star weekend and playoffs. Instead, post-game interviews should take place in lockers or even on the court after the game. Perhaps 2k could bring back Craig Sager to interview players’ right after the game. Furthermore, players should only be interviewed if they are the franchise player, starter, or contributed key moments during the game, and not some rookie that only played 2 minutes.
                          • Improve the voting system for MVP and Most Improved Player awards. Players that have a bad season and then bounce back to average stats that they have achieved in the past should not even be nominated for the most improved player award.
                          • If your league-wide popularity is high, then you should have a good chance at becoming an all-star starter regardless of how well/bad you are playing- Just ask Allen Iverson or Tracy McGrady.
                          • Better off-season interface. Give users the same options as association mode (i.e., view staff changes, view player signings and check which of your teammates are staying or leaving, NBA draft, etc.).
                          • Option for your player not to have a nickname if the announcers are able to pronounce your name- as seen in 2k10.
                          • Aside from team chemistry, league-wide popularity (assuming this is based on fan base), and local fan support, there should be another factor that determines the relationships your player has with other players from different teams (e.g., LeBron and Chris Paul friendship, relationships with former teammates, etc.). The higher the value, the more willing other players are in teaming up with you and playing alongside. Also, the higher the value, the more interested the teams are in acquiring you.
                          • Allow users to simulate games.
                          • Allow users the option to reduce the number of games per season to 56, 29, 14 (similar to association mode).
                          • When your player wins an award, such as MVP, Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player, etc., show a short clip and perhaps hold a press conference about your player winning the award.
                          • Ability to earn bonus attribute points while playing in a game. For example, if your player breaks the team record for most steals in a game, then he may receive bonus attributes for ‘steal’, or if your player shuts Kobe down and make him go 3-29 from the field, then your player could earn bonus attributes for on-ball defense.
                          • Make it much more difficult to earn minutes, especially if the user was drafted very low. A player’s overall attributes should play a key factor on whether he gets more minutes or not. In 2k12, my player took the starting role from Kyle Lowry even though he had a higher overall than me (my overall was only 65). Furthermore, it’s unrealistic for a rookie to gain more playing time each game even if he struggles. In some cases, players should miss games in the early stages of their rookie career if they aren’t playing well.
                          • League-wide popularity could also be another factor in making it to the HOF- Yao Ming.
                          • This may be a tough one to put in- Implement a system where users can upload a picture of their face and process it in a way that the system creates a computerised ‘game face’ of the uploaded picture. This option is available in the FIFA franchise. To be honest, it’s so hard to make my player’s face look Asian. The uploaded picture can also be used as a portrait in the game, such as player card, instead of the computerised CAP face.
                          • Ability for users to change the weight of their player even after they have finished creating it.
                          • Unless a blowout or injury, the rotations during the playoffs should be restricted to around 8-10 players only. Benchwarmers shouldn’t be playing at all.
                          • More variety of questions asked during post-game playoff interviews. They get repetitive very easily.

                          And Last But Not Least:
                          • Implement a Coach or GM Mode where a user takes control of the role. Sometimes playing too much My Player or pickup games can make you lose interest in the game. So why not allow users to interact and take control from a different perspective of basketball. Although this mode is very similar to Association Mode (simply by simulating all games and manually making basketball decisions, such as trades, coach signings, etc.), 2K could try and add more options and interfaces, such as ticket sales, marketing certain star players on team, or possibly even introduce an expansion team where the user starts from scratch, thus totaling the league to 31 teams.
