-‘Can’t handle the pass’ animation controls: I’m sure I speak for everyone here when I say we NEED some control over these. How about if you let go of the directional stick and turbo the animation ends sooner. Also, passing during the animation could have you do a lower accuracy shovel pass, similar to the mid-air pass. That way you can get rid of the ball before the D snatches it from your flailing, Kwame-like hands.
Same things should apply in those 'losing the ball while going to the hole' animations.
-Pass fakes while moving: Since they now made it harder to pass in the paint, I would like to be able to do a pass fake while moving that I could branch into a real pass or a layup. The controls could be pressing the pass fake button during movement, then quickly doing a flick flick-type thing into a shot stick layup or another pass. The D anticipates passes so much that this will be a way to make them pay for over anticipating. The layups after a pass fake could be lower percentage, and the 2nd real pass could be lower accuracy. Rondo has a pass fake layup, but I want total control over it.
-Avoid the bumping: If the d wants to bump me off the ball, maybe we can press turbo early in the bump animation to sprint out of it sooner and get some separation. It'll make him pay a little for playing me so close.
-More dunk controls: Contact dunks have always been automatic, so maybe give us control over the type of dunks we do so when we do get a dunk in someone’s face it’ll feel more like we did something. I’d like to have the ability to choose which hand to dunk with(like you can choose which hand to layup with) by pressing right or left and turbo. Also, pulling back and turbo could make you put the ball behind your head to protect it from forward blockers(doing that in the open court would result in the usual backwards dunk). Pressing forward and turbo would be the usual dunk.
I'd also like it if you had to do some 'special move' maneuvers for fancier dunks instead of them being automatic, like back then forward for a windmill or a Zangief Spinning Piledriver stick motion for a 360. That way more complex dunks are more rare and impressive when you pull them off. Bring back the rim hang dunk option, too. I liked that.
-My Player-specific commentary: The broadcast crew hardly mentions your My Player at all. It would be nice if they can talk about him just a bit; I’m working hard and I just want some recognition *sniff*. Maybe some general status commentary, like how he is doing his rookie year, what he can do to crack the starting lineup, if he is one of the best bench players in the league, if he should have been taken higher or lower in the draft, etc. If he is having a career game, mention how the rookie is growing up in front of their eyes and stuff like that. Then when he is more established, how he has improved, can he make the Allstar team, what he can do better, etc. Then when he is one of the best in the league, talk about him like they talk about some other Allstars. Also mention him among the league leaders in certain stats when that graphic comes up. Little comments like that will make the My Player really feel like he exists in the NBA instead of just a created thing.
