    Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

-this game seems to do some shady stuff in order to keep the games close.

the CPU regularly hits contested F and D grade shots in order to keep the score close. meanwhile, my players will regularly miss wide open B and A grade shots.

if i have a double digit lead, my players start missing multiple open 3 pointers. i can be wide open and get an A grade on the shot...it doesn't matter...the game is so obviously making me miss so the CPU can go on a run. it's too hard to hold onto a double digit lead in this game because the game will just use it's B.S. power to make your shots miss and make the CPU's contested shots go in.

seems like whenever i'm winning my teammates start doing stupid stuff to give the CPU an advantage - they'll commit a stupid foul, fail to box out, etc.

most games follow the same pattern - eventually the CPU evens the score since my players have been missing their open shots and the CPU has made all of it's contested D- shots...once the score is close again, all of the sudden my players can make their shots!!!!! seems like the only time my players can make shots is when i'm losing or when the game is close.

this game also has a bad sense of what is a good shot. i will often contest a shot very closely and the CPU will still get a C+ or B grade on the shot...if i time my block animation perfectly and get all up in his grill, the shot grade should not be as high as C+ or B...a closely contested shot should never be higher than a D grade...

and another thing....a D grade or lower shot should NEVER go in. let me feel like i'm actually affecting the game with my defense....what's the point of playing defense and including shot quality grades if D grade shots are going to go in?

do you know how annoying it is when i'm trying to win a close game, and i'm contesting the CPU perfectly, but the CPU just keeps making these contested D and D- grade shots? when the CPU makes multiple D- shots in one game, something is wrong with this game's ability to judge shot quality.

-another thing, somewhat related to keeping the score close - the CPU offensive rebounding garbage is back again in 2k12. offensive rebounding is always WAY too much in favor of the CPU. the CPU often beats me 6-0 and 7-0 on the offensive glass...this dominant CPU offensive rebounding just seems like another way for the game to keep the score close. boxing out is a mess in this game as well...way too often my players will be in position to box out, but they don't box out...so the CPU's guy will just run from behind and grab the rebound even though my player had way better positioning to begin with. even if my player does box out, the CPU will often do some spin move around my player and grab the rebound anyway.

Shot releases like we had in 2k11. No more of this simplistic stuff

When you go for blocks or when you try to move in the opposite direction it feels very delayed and sluggish compared with 2k11. In 2k11 when you went for a block you would jump toward the guy your trying to block. This year it feels like your just floating slowly in the air.

For 2k13 bring back the realistic shot releases that were in 2k11 that made learning the various shot releases of players more challenging and fun to learn. This year the shot releases are so dumb downed.
Thank you , guess i am not the only one who noticed how dumbed down jumpshots are this year compared to 2k11

Ability to choose All-Star Game players.

This is something that I have never experinced in any sports game that I have ever played. Sometimes I look at the choices for the all star game and it makes no sense! Sometimes, I'd like to give someone else a spot that seems more deserving. We can change shoes and colors and accessories and abilities, but I cant change who will make the All-Star roster?? This seems like something easy to fix.

Anyone else ever wonder why this has never happened?

Get completely rid of rocket jumps, meaning you can't jump if aren't set or you have no momentum (i.e. if you are just standing there).

Get rid of the speed boost that the CPU gets, I had Andrew Bogut keeping up with Brandon Knight earlier. I mean, really?

Tone down momentum, especially on passes where the guy is moving. When players come off of a screen looking for a pass, they can stop fairly quickly.

there is a wonky issue with the defensive control....sometimes it seems like my player doesn't know which direction to face...if i'm trying to guard to ball handler and i'm chasing him around, my player often takes too long to rotate his body to face the ball handler...he'll awkwardly turn sideways for a bit and then eventually rotate to face the ball.

attempting shot blocks around the rim is wonky too - defenders will often jump with their back turned to the ball handler rather than rotating their bodies to face the ball as they do the block animation.

They need to fix the stats recording; I mean, how can a rookie average 17.3 steals and 1.000 for 3-pointers for his career, yet have a worse rookie season.

First and foremost, I was playing against the Nuggets earlier, both KENYON MARTIN and Ty Lawson did the Kobe pivot move. THIS, is why not everyone needs access to every move. You got uncoordinated centers doing Kobe's move or a version of the dream shake and point guards who can score 20 or more points in the paint.

This is a short clip from the game.
                          It shows two things:

                          1) A CENTER keeping up with a guard whose speed rating is 90.
                          2) Gerald Wallace is forced into an animation that turns a high percentage shot into a low percentage shot, the fact that he had more momentum and is stronger did not factor in AT ALL.

These things, seriously need to be addressed.

And the plays, there was a play I had where the center sets a screen for a guard in the corner and the guard cuts through the lane to the opposite corner. Then the center is supposed to post up, but for some odd reason, he will not turn to post up until the guard is ALL the way in the opposite corner. THIS is why it takes so long to get shots off, and most of which end up being taken with 5 seconds or less on the shot clock.

well, i wish this still wasn't a problem, but it is - some layup animations still cause the player to lay the ball into the bottom of the rim or into the bottom of the backboard. these were eliminated in 2k11, but now they are back in 2k12. i suspect the problem is sometimes due to the new "mid-air shot adjustments" that were added in 2k12...

After playing a few games today and then watching some NBA the CPU is in need of obeying momentum on defense. They hardly ever over play say a chase out to run somebody off the three or even go for a pump fake. They do a full acceleration because they already know you triggered a shot on the stick and then stop on a dime. They need to have the CPU over play certain plays if they are aggressive on defense. That is real basketball. Another thing that I noticed is that players get open far more often on the perimeter in real life than what is possible in this game because almost all teams "lockdown the paint" by default in the NBA and are willing to rotate to give up perimeter shots which are less percentage. Small little things this just takes the game to another level

The better the player defensive awareness and on ball defense the more they "know" what the user is going to do before you perform the move. It takes away from the realism when I am running a play and the defense is running the curl almost before my player runs it that never happens because if you over play the curl you are open for a back cut in the opposite direction. They have to make the defense chase the offensive player on plays or it just becomes "scripted" running side by backwards should not be happening. I don't care if it is D. Wade or no name rookie this should not be happening.

                              points in the paint:

I know this has been said plenty of times in here but there are a handful of NBA point guards that have post moves and hardly any of them would get to use them in game because their shots would have been blocked countless times if they tried performing what the CPU does in this game. Take the tendency way down or let them get blocked is basically how I feel. No center will just watch as Mo Willams goes Hakeem in the post. It will be getting blocked.

Also the CPU must adapt to the user double team, trap corners vary up the defense. It would be cool if the CPU ran different defenders at players say if you were lighting up one player
