Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
For 2k13 I request just one thing: Forget 2k12 was ever made, scrap 2k12 from living memory, go back to 2k11 and use that engine as the foundation for 2k13.Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
fix player ratings ASAP. no default players like josh smith having 80 3pt ratings while shooting 33% the season beforeComment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
I don't know if this is truly the official wishlist or not but either way. . .
I am hopeful 2K is able to straighten out the logic behind what hand players finish with inside. Wayyyyy too often in 2K12, it seems my player will have a clear opportunity to finish inside by squaring their shoulders to the basket and dropping it in off the glass for a point blank layup.
Instead, I notice the logic in 2K12 often initiates an animation that makes them jump away from the basket and shoot with the wrong hand, making their shot attempt ten times too difficult (while seemingly going out of their way to shoot into a defenders contesting arms).
Here are two examples. Apologies if they go too quickly. One may need to run them twice:
1. Bill Laimbeer makes a move toward the baseline and while momentum and logic seem to say he'd be best served continuing his path toward the backboard, we get this:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/RfM_LX4u0Dw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
2. Here, Scottie Pippen makes a relatively clunky and awkward overhead pass from 4 feet away to Ron Harper. Harper has a defender on the back left portion of his hip and completely wide-open spaces between himself and the basket on his right side. All he'd have to do is take one step in the logical direction and get a dunk or super-easy right handed layup. Instead:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/nmfx4Km4Yk8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Without exaggeration, it seems this happens at least once every game. It's a little disheartening, only because we have no real control over it. To see what should be an open dunk turn into a contested, floating, lefty drop can be very frustrating.Last edited by VDusen04; 01-06-2012, 09:36 AM.Comment

what's really annoying is when you have a open lane to the hoop and you drive for a layup and a defender is behind you...instead of just continuing straight to the hoop for an easy layup, the game forces my player to stop his momentum and do some weird floater so that the defender behind me can catch up and contest the layup...WHAT THE?!!! these "forced contested shot" scenarios are so annoying.Last edited by blues rocker; 01-06-2012, 11:39 AM.Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
I recall a developer mentioning something abut being able to use the rim to block defenders once before as something they wanted in future 2K titles. Don't quote me on that. But I hope that reflects a general understanding of what needs the most fixing.
And not only did the 2nd vids layup animation irk me, but an overhead pass to a player 4 feet away? ARGH!Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
another thing about layups...the game doesn't really let you control which direction to lay the ball up...a lot of times i'll be right under the rim and want to lay ball up on the right side of the hoop, so i'll move the shot stick right...but instead my player lays it up to the left where the defender is....this is need to be more intuitive and controllable...if i move the shot stick right, that's the direction my player should lay it up.
again...it feels like the game is just forcing me into the worse possible layup animation and making my player go toward defenders rather than avoiding them.
these issues with the "contextual" layup and dunk animations actually have gotten worse since 2k11...for the most part, in 2k11 i felt like the game usually gave me an effective animation for the situation i was in...
one more thing - stupid dunk animations...the game needs to have more "contextually smart" dunk animations...2k11 was way better at this. in 2k12 players attempt too many flashy windmill dunks in traffic...if there are defenders nearby, players should always use a simple, "straight up" dunk animation where they keep the ball high above their head to avoid getting it stripped or swatted...too many times my player will attempt some crazy windmill with defenders around and because he brings the ball down in the windmill motion, defenders are able to knock the ball out....PLEASE 2K - if defenders are within 5 feet of the player, he should always keep the ball up above his head on the dunk attempt.
or there's the two handed dunk where the player will bring the ball back behind his head...this is another dumb dunk animation that needlessly exposes the ball and allows defenders to knock it out from behind when he brings the ball back behind his head...if he had just done a simple "arms straight up" two handed dunk he would've had an easy score...
overall, animations should be "contextually smarter" and take into account where the nearby defenders are.Last edited by blues rocker; 01-10-2012, 06:28 PM.Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
my 2k13 wishlist
-Change the Speed factor : make it so every 5 or 10 speed + quickness points feel different + make centers & forwards a lot more agile while down in the post
-Include more ways to turn the ball over like sloppy ball handling & make it easy to tip the ball with help defender while backing down the post and maybe little bit more traveling violations to make it more realistic
-Improve blocks & everything about blocks from sound of blocking to blocking animations,no more armpits blocks etc..
-Improve crowd awareness if u hit tough jumper or long 3pt they should go 'ohhh' or something like that
-add playoff player introductions like in real nba
-add real slam dunk contest & all star weekend
-a little bit more accessories like more arm sleeves, more calf sleeves (shorter longer) etc..
-make shoes in HIGH res for God's sake it's 2012 already
-improve running on fastbreaks and add more realism when u drive with good dunker on fastbreak against point guard (josh smith destroyed nash for example XD)
-add real double teams and fix defensive logics
-add more classic teams from 1995 to 2005 era (Nets,Sixers,Blazers)
-maybe get a licence for Under Armour shoes & Li Ning
-if possible completely remove overall ratings and give us instead just separate grade's for each players like (off: A def: C+ ath: A reb: B etc etc) just without overall rating number
-add wingspan for current nba players but remove it from my player because of 'cheesing' with 7'5'' wingspans
-arena sounds for PC
this is all I could come up with right now & last but not least
-HIRE A REAL INSIDER OR MAYBE MORE OF THEM BECAUSE CURRENT ONE DOESN'T WATCH NBA TOO OFTEN !!!Comment

Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread
Teambuilder
You can start an expansion team in franchise or when you make the roster (all of this on the computer like NCAA's football teambuilder) you can set it to a current roster and replace that team when you start an association.
Ex. I create the Charlotte Hornets, I set it to the current NOH roster and when I start my Association, I replace the NO team with the Charlotte team. Then I could also create an expansion team in Seattle of course making them the SuperSonics.
We could create expansions/replace current teams and end up with a max of 40 teams in the league.
That'd be SICK.NBA
Charlotte HORNETS
NFL
Carolina Panthers
College
Carolina Tar Heels
Won't change until:
1) Hornets win a playoff game
2) Panthers win a Super Bowl
3) Tar Heels win another championship (Completed: 4/3/2017)
