after a while with this game there are a couple main issues that bother me:
1. i don't like how the game often chooses weird layup animations that don't correspond to my controller input.. for example, a lot of the layup animations will have a hop step automatically built in, which will also cause my player to move in a direction i didn't want him to move in...most of the time i just want him to go straight at the hoop and do a normal layup, but instead he shifts his direction and does an auto-hop step and ends up laying it in on the wrong side of the hoop or something. simplify the layup animations and get rid of a lot of these extra built in auto gathers that make my player move where i don't want him to. if i'm moving toward the hoop and I move the shot stick to the right, my player should lay the ball up on the right side of the hoop and use his right hand - EVERY TIME...don't force me into layup animations that don't follow my shot stick input.
2. on defense when guarding the ball handler there seems to be times when the game will make my player move when i didn't tell him to move, thus allowing the ball handler to get by me. this seems most noticeable when the ball handler gets near the hoop and starts using pump fakes, hop steps, and spins. for example, if the ball handler does a pump fake near the hoop, the game will make my player automatically shift to the side slightly thus giving the ball handler space to do an up-and-under layup. when trying to stay in front of a player when he's doing spins, hopsteps, etc....my player can't create contact, so the game kind of makes my player slide past him rather that stopping him.
there needs to be way more realistic collision physics on hopsteps, spins, and up-&-under layups. if my body is blocking his path, there should be a collision EVERY TIME...if my body is blocking his path and i neutralize the left stick, then he should plow over me and be called for a charge. i just want to see collisions happen when they should, not just occasionally.
