I would keep Rondo, and I think you need to get a good Center that your lacking now. Let me know what happens.

Re: How to rebuild Celtics?
I realize this will be difficult without seeing me play the game, but, can anyone give me some tips to be, well, better? I just got blown out by the Pacers 100-71. I turned on shot-feedback so that I could see if I wasn't timing my shots right, and I actually was, they just weren't going down.
I think my problem is defense (thus the 100 points to the Pacers). I turned defensive assist to 100 in the 'controller settings' menu. Should I just turned down some CPU offensive sliders? Or can someone give me some practical advice, please? I'm playing on default everything 12 minute quarters.
Also, as far as rebuilding the Celtics: my own personal preference is to keep Rondo, Pierce and Garnett (still technically a big 3). I'm still in the middle of my first season right now, but I plan to trade Allen and possibly a draft pick for a Center. That pretty much leaves a big gap a SG, so you can either use Daniels there or just wait till the offseason and then sign a free-agent. Either that or trade Allen straight-up for a Center, then use the draft pick to trade for an older SG you don't mind replacing after the season.Comment

Re: How to rebuild Celtics?
the way the celts are presently constructed, they are an attacking PG away from being contenders. Evans gives them that, they lose some defense, but he gives them penetration, free-throw attempts and a better jumper. Just trading for Evans would go a long way for them, and then if you like Bradley you can slide him to the 2
Anyway, I don't know who I would trade Rondo or Green for. I use the Celtics in association every year, and I've decided that with NBA 2k12 (just got it yesterday) I'm going to king of let this season play out with the current roster (if a good trade opportunity comes up then I'll take it, but I'm not actively shopping it). I'm hoping to basically let everybody walk at the end of the season, so the only contracts on the books will be Rondo, Pierce, Bradley, Johnson, and Bass (he has a player option). Then I'll begin the rebuilding process through the draft and free agency, and I'll probably look to trade Pierce to a contender for picks or some more youthful talent.
This will be the first year that I actually plan to rebuild in an NBA2K game. Pre-'07 I always just tried to build around the current team (those Jefferson teams were so much fun!), and post '07 I've just stayed in the win now mentality for the entire duration of my association.Comment

Re: How to rebuild Celtics?
'The Truth' for Monta Ellis.. why?.. Celtics get rid of that horrible contract.. GSW gets a solid vet to help Curry be da franchise player..
then in a seperate deal u could move Ray Allen to Utah for Al Jefferson.. again add some picks n filler players or maybe a 3rd team n u got a nice team for da future.. Rondo, Ellis n Big Al.. let Garnett n O'neal walk at da end of da season n u shld have some cap space to get some solid role players..All Hail The K1NG!

Re: How to rebuild Celtics?
I don't think the OP knows what rebuilding means. As the roster stands right now Rondo and Green are going to be the two guys on the roster that you want going in to the future. The most essential part of any rebuild is to create a good young core. This doesn't mean that the whole starting line up has to be under 20 years old. It just means you need a core going forward.
Now it's perfectly fine to trade either or both of Rondo and Green, but right now Rondo is 25 and about as good a player as anyone else in the next 10 years in the league, and if you play Jeff Green right, he could end up being a solid 3rd or 4th option on your eventual championship contender. It doesn't make a lot of sense to trade Rondo unless you are getting someone who can become a better play than Rondo in the next 5 or 10 years or is already a better player than Rondo and will continue to be in the next 5 or 10 years.
What I would do is put Kevin Garnett on the trade finder and look for some young pieces you can put around Rondo. The good thing about Jeff Green is that he is the perfect 6th man. Ray Allen is a really good player in this game because of his 3 point shooting ability and can keep you competitive until his retirement, and I'd keep Paul Pierce around because he's a Celtic for life and you're doing video game injustice dealing him somewhere else.
Just find some young players that you can get for trading Garnett. When Pierce and Ray retire you have a little more financial flexibility, so look for young MLE level guys like Afflalo, Thad Young, or Landry Fields (Players I've traditionally targeted in 2K11, not sure who is available in 2k12)Comment

So basically, looking to see what I can get for Rondo and most likely Allen now (don't need Allen because I always slide Bradley to his natural SG position, and work on his outside shooting in the offseason...he gets pretty good).
But really wanna trade Rondo. I just don't like him in the game, I want him gone.Comment

I just don't like Rondo in this game (I do IRL), and I definitely want to trade him. And green isn't on the Celtics anymore, but Pietrus is.

Re: How to rebuild Celtics?
I know everyone has a different feel for the game, but I find it easy to play as Rondo. On Super Star difficulty I find it easy to average about 16 points and 12 assists with him, even on the aging Celtics team. You just have to drive more and can't expect to him every jump shot.Comment

Re: How to rebuild Celtics?
Yeah to just send the Celtics into rebuilding mode is pretty unrealistic. I think if you were to do anything you would trade older payers like Allen and KG for a younger talent. This would allow you to be viable now and win later. To just trade for draft picks is unreal for Boston right now.
Rondo for Westbrook would be a great trade. I could see that going down and you could build around westbrook and bradley.Comment

Re: How to rebuild Celtics?
I think the only teams that would really want Rondo are contending teams, or teams with a lot of scoring options for Rondo to distribute and to take some pressure off of Rondo. Rebuilding teams aren't going to want to trade their young stars for a point guard who needs some offensive help to be effective.
Some options that I found in the trade finder:
Rajon Rondo
Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen for Chris Bosh
Rajon Rondo for Josh Smith and a 2012 1st round draft pick
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green for Eric Gordon and Chris Kaman
Rajon Rondo and Jermaine O'Neal for Al Jefferson
Rajon Rondo for Tyrke Evans
Rajon Rondo and Jermaine O'Neal for Baron Davis and Tyson Chandler
Rajon Rondo and Jermaine O'Neal for Andrew Bynum
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green for Deron Williams and a 2012 2nd round pick
Rajon Rondo and Jermaine O'Neal for Danilo Gallinari and Nene
Rajon Rondo and Marquis Daniels for Darren Colison and Danny Granger
Rajon Rondo for Tony Parker
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green
Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, and Chris Wilcox for Al Horford and Kirk Hinrich
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green for Chris Bosh and Shane Battier
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green for Eric Gordon and Chris Kaman
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green for Al Jefferson and a 2013 1st round pick
Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, and Jermaine O'Neal for Andrew Bynum and Luke Walton
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green for Jameer Nelson and Hedo Turkoglu
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green for Lamar Odom and Jason Kidd
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green for Deron Williams
Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green for Danilo Gallinari and Nene
Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, 2012 1st round pick for Paul George and Roy Hibbert
Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, and Ray Allen for Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli
Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, and Jermaine O'Neal for Steve Nash and Grant Hill
Some of these are obviously more unrealistic than others... but there are some good options in there.Comment
