Ya, most of the time trades are only made during that time. Unless, you have contender that's struggling and they make a panic trade, like the Magic last year. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like many are following that rule

I'm the Pacers...looking for a SG for Granger. Anyone come to mind?? I'm thinking Eric Gordon or Monta Ellis...although my goal is to sign Gordon in the offseason if I can't trade for a SG.Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
And there's that "rule" which I think is a good one..where no trades are dealt until 3 days before the deadline and/or on draft day only.
And Orlando is pretty good, even when Dwight isn't having a good night they win so I don't see Orlando trading him at all. Take their chances on doing well in the playoffs and hoping to resign him. They will have some money next year with Arenas' contract gone from amnesty to bring in a FA (maybe D. Williams from the Nets will come there?) I personally don't see D12 being traded this season; they're too good of a team to do that.Comment

Also would it work if I wanted to do a 30 team association, but I basically let the cpu handle all the rotation issues and draft picks unless I want to change something? I really just don't want to do that stuff.Comment

That's something I don't understand about 30 Team... Couldn't you just decide whoever you want and just get them in free agency really easy like that? How do you keep that realistic?

Well that's not exactly what I meant. I mean how do you decide where a certain free agent would go?Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
We put in some suggestions in the guideline such as doing some research on who's close friends in the league. Also, veterans should go teams that are close to championship. Look at markets as players like to play in good market such as New York, LA, Chicago, etc.Comment

Well you'll go through and resign players on each team first. And Hornets have a right to match offer for Gordon as well so it will honestly be tough to sign Gordon unless I gave him a ton of money. Just go through team by team and resign who you think should resign. Some players won't resign with the team no matter what you do so you deal with that as well.
I simmed a season and at the FA part now and seeing how it goes...looking to resign Hawes for the 76ers now. Brand opted out of his contract like an idiot! lolComment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Dwight will accept the player option 99.9% of the time after year one so you won't even have to worry about where he goes until after year 2.
And yeah I know Pauley, Hornets will match any offer for Gordon and try prolly resign him long term irlComment

For realism, I am going to remove the player option in my association so Howard will become a FA. He might stay in Orlando, but I highly doubt he accepts the option.Tennessee Volunteers
