Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Same thing I do, if the player is out for season IRL before I start my 1st season I do my best to not have him play that year. Oden did manage to sneak past me a play a couple games because of injuries, but he still has zero minutes so he never really impacts the games he does get in."You come at the King, you best not miss..."Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
I think it would be 'lottery' protected so that's top 14. In other words if you make the playoffs you can't protect the pick."You come at the King, you best not miss..."Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Ok, pretty straight forward deal...
Blazers get:
Nash
Suns get:
Felton
Oden
All 3 deals are one year, so Phoenix get cap relief if them don't want to keep either player. If feel like Oden needs a change of scenery and the trainers in Phoenix are well know for being able to revive players careers(G. Hill for example). The Blazers have been fading fast in my association and I think this switch of PG's can get them back on the right track. Maybe Phoenix throws in a top 10 protected pick in 2012 or 13 to balance it out a bit."You come at the King, you best not miss..."Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Ideas for Chemistry:
5 Game W Streak = 5+ OFF and DEF awareness
10 Game W Streak = 10+ OFF and DEF awareness
So basically you just get 1 point for every win after 5 wins, BUT these only go by increments of 5. You dont get a point for winning your 6th straight; this would take a while to edit.
More ideas:
New player getting 10-14 Minutes = 2- OFF and DEF awareness
New player getting 15-19 Minutes = 4- OFF and DEF awareness
New player getting 20-24 Minutes = 6- OFF and DEF awareness
New player getting 25+ Minutes or Starting = 8- OFF and DEF awareness
These decreases only last for 5 games. They only can happen in the regular season. This is to simulate teams getting use to new teammates.
"Jameer Nelson" Effect:
Players coming back from injury go by this scale;
10-14 Minutes = No decreases
15-19 Minutes = 2- OFF and DEF awareness
20-24 Minutes = 4- OFF and DEF awareness
25+ Minutes or Starting = 6- OFF and DEF awareness
This is so you have to ease a player back in the lineup. This ony applies to players who have missed 5+ games.
In the playoffs add 2 to every decrease(10-14 Min = 2-, and so on).
Achievements:
Have 1 or more players named to All-Star team = 2+ OFF and DEF awareness for 5 games after break
Player wins end of season award = 4+ OFF and DEF awareness for first 5 games of regular season the following year.
End season as 1-4 Seed = 6+ OFF and DEF awareness, 2+ CONST for first series.
End season as 5-8 Seed = 4+ OFF and DEF awareness, 1+ CONST for first series.
Miss playoffs = 4- OFF and DEF awareness, 1- CONST for first 10 games of regular season.
Win Championship = 8+ OFF and DEF awareness, 2+ CONST for all players who were on championship team. Lasts for first 10 games of regular season. Players who won but aren't on team anymore get boosts for first 5 games.
I'll think of more, but what do you guys think?Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
good chemistry and achievements, but not sure about the injuries or new players theory
also i have an idea, not sure if its good, but in order to have more of busts and surprises, every month you look at young players on each team and see if they had above average months, and if that player overachieves, or underachieves, there could be an opportunity through random.org that they gain some potential or attributes or lose some
haven't thought of a specific process yet, just an idea

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Just a quick trade I threw together because in my association, Will Bynum is "angry and wants out" so I tried to accomodate. Three team trade involving the Pistons, Cavs, and Lakers. What do you all think?
Detroit Gets:
Devin Ebanks (LAL)
2012 2nd Round Pick (LAL)
Samardo Samuels (CLE)
LA Gets:
Ramon Sessions (CLE)
Cleveland Gets:
Will Bynum (DET)
Josh McRoberts (LAL)
2012 2nd Round Pick (DET)
2012 1st Round Pick (LAL)
All the salaries work, and it gets Bynum out of Detroit to back up Irving and get a little more PT than in Detroit. The Lakers get Ramon Sessions, who they were going after, and Detroit gets a nice young player in Ebanks to battle with Daye for the backup SF position.
Again, I did it really quick, so just looking for thoughts.Comment

If Dwight Howard was to sign with the Nets, what should I do with Brook Lopez? He'll be a RFA. I don't think that NJ would just let him walk but i don't know if he could play PF beside Howard either. Can you do a sign and trade with a RFA? I'm just not sure exactly what to do with him.Tennessee Volunteers

That's good but if the trade happens, it's not certain that Dwight will be able to sign because in comes Smith and Williams contract

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Gasol is an interesting comparison. I hadn't thought about that.
I guess my question should be, does NJ have any other options other than sign him or let him go as a FA? Can you sign and trade a RFA?Tennessee Volunteers
