After the third year? OH YEAH, I think IRL it'd also be blown up as well. Maybe not "blown up" but def some changes. I'm not 100% sure who it'd be they'd trade but they'd def change it up. I could almost see it happen after this year IF they don't at least make the Finals. A trade that I think makes A LOT of sense is a Dwight for Lebron trade right now. I know it's mostly a fantasy idea but I actually think it would benefit both teams greatly.

Ok so in my association, I just went through the draft lottery. The top 5 of the draft looks like this
NOH
WAS
CHA (me)
DET
SAC
NOH will take Anthony Davis. I've got Barnes going to WAS and then me choosing between Thomas Robinson and MKG. Drummond will go to DET then Robinson/MKG will go to SAC.
I really had my sights set on Anthony Davis. Would it be realistic at all to trade up for him? I could give up D.J. Augustin and Gerald Henderson. New Orleans has big holes at PG and SG. I could also take on Okefor's contract if needed. NOH has Danny Granger so they could move Trevor Ariza. I could prehaps find a third team to take Ariza and give something to New Orleans. I am willing to send future draft picks too. I could throw in my 2nd round pick as well (31st overall). If they move down to 3, New Orleans could still get Andre Drummond and the Hornets have 2 more 1st round picks to build depth.
If that does not happen, I'd like to add a second pick in the late lottery. Like I said, D.J. Augustin is available. The picks I'm targeting are Utah at 10 or 14, and New Orleans at 11. Would Augustin and a lottery protected 1st be enough for any of those?Last edited by volstopfan14; 03-01-2012, 08:42 PM.Tennessee Volunteers

Depends on the team, but generally I'd say that's good enough.
To your other stuff. Your drafts and mine sound A LOT alike. I usually have MKG end up in SAC cause he seems like an ideal fit, ALTHOUGH I've been hearing a lot lately he's said he's staying at UK. He seems like the type who might.
In my first Assoc. I had CHA at #2 and they took Barnes seeing as MJ is the owner. I agree with you though, Anthony Davis would be amazing for them (well basically anyone lol). Also maybe you could think bout staying at 3 and taking Thomas Robinson. I might be in the minority but I think he's going to be a dynamite NBA player. Maybe a 18/10 guy. Then trade to the late lottery like you said and go for a scorer on the outside. Maybe a Doron Lamb? A nice shooter would work good with Kemba and Robinson and you could see if BB (Biyombo?sp?) could fill the void at C for D.
Not sure if you can make together my rambling lol, but I hope it somewhat helped.
Edit: Also you could look at Beal at #3. I've been hearing he's moving up draft boards and I like him A LOT. He reminds me of an Eric Gordon with maybe a better outside shot.Comment

I like Robinson a lot too. I just like Davis more lol. If I could get Robinson then a wing scorer I'd be happy with my class.
I like Beal but I don't think I would take him over Robinson. Right now I'm thinking Beal could go to Toronto at 6. With Valanciunas coming over and Bargnani, Ed Davis, and Amir Johnson at PF they really don't need another big man.
The one team I'm having trouble finding a fit for is Phoenix. After my top 5 the next four picks are
TOR
CLE
ORL
PHO
Like I said, I have Beal to TOR right now then probably Jeremy Lamb to Cleveland. Right now Perry Jones would go to ORL. So who does Phoenix take? It still seems early for a PG. They have Markieff Morris, Marcin Gortat, and Greg Oden so I really don't see a fit for Jared Sullinger. The next best wing is Terrence Jones. I don't really know who to give them, unless I have them trade down or up or have someone ahead of them move down.Tennessee Volunteers

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
My opinion on my 2nd pick is that Utah and New Orleans have a hole at PG and their are no top PGs in the draft. Augustin is a proven NBA player who is a solid PG. They each have two picks so they would come out of the draft with a rookie, a young PG, and a future pick.
I like Robinson a lot too. I just like Davis more lol. If I could get Robinson then a wing scorer I'd be happy with my class.

Yeah, trades are always a possibility in the draft. I had Oden retire(moved his ratings down in mine). I could maybe see the Suns taking a PG. I'm sure a couple will shoot up during draft time due to team needs and just in general at least one has to shoot up. Maybe the Suns could trade up and go for Beal? I had them get him in mine and he's been great for them. Or I could see them taking Sullinger. They have Gortat at the 5 and he's a good defender so he could cover up for Sullinger's defensive liabilities but IDK if the Suns want to build a team that has to play a little slower. Or like you said move down some and take one of the PG's with that pick. Never know, maybe one turns out to be better then thought (up to you, we control ratings lol) Is Wroten or Terrence Ross in your draft class? I can't member because I edited mine around a little. Either one of those could be a good pick to if they're there.Comment

How about Phoenix trading up to 5?
PHX gets
Pick 5
SAC gets
Pick 9
Jared Dudley
Robin Lopez
The Suns could take Beal at 5 to fill the SG hole. The Kings could get Sullinger to play beside Cousins and add a glue guy at SF in Dudley and a young backup C in Lopez. J.J. Hickson and Jason Thompson are free agents and could leave. Is this trade fair? It would really help me deciding who goes where.Tennessee Volunteers

Yeah, the deal to move up is fine. As long as they're not to crazy and this one isn't I say do whatever your heart desires. Keeps Assoc. mode fun. Most of us on here know what's realistic etc.
To the Kings though, I think they're more looking for a defensive minded PF to cover up for Cousins while Cousins does the work on the offensive end. Sullinger and Cousins together wouldn't work IMO.Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Does anyone have any ideas for a Rondo trade? Just throw out your best ideas so we could have a lot of options. I've tried the Indy one, but I'm not sold on Indy wanting to take on a new guy. They've worked hard to establish the chemistry they have and they love their cap space.
1.Indy
2.Portland-maybe Portland could send Batum back along with other pieces
3.Utah- Harris and Jefferson or Milsap for Rondo and.... O'neal?
Maybe some three team deals? I always forget to do three team deals in my Assoc. so it'd be nice to get some in.Comment

If Sullinger really doesn't fit then I guess I would either need to find another trade for Phoenix or reach for a guy like John Henson or Arnett Moutrie.
For Rondo, a Utah trade sounds best to me. I'll try to think of some more options.Last edited by volstopfan14; 03-01-2012, 11:13 PM.Tennessee Volunteers

So what would you suggest? Sullinger is by far the top prospect on the board at 9. With Sullinger, the Kings could start Chuck Hayes at PF and bring Sullinger off the bench as a scorer/rebounder. He may not be the best fit, but I can't really see the Kings passing him up at 9 with MKG and Robinson off the board.

Well, if the Kings had another bad season in your Assoc. they could look at moving Evans. So maybe you could grab a guard. Or some kind of trade. That's the toughest part I have with the Assoc. The Offseason movement of players. Because in IRL there's so much movement with trades, signings, etc. it's hard to do it all and keep it feeling realistic in my mind. Maybe Sullinger could go a little earlier to a team in need of a low post scorer but they have a good defensive big man. I had him go to Washington in mine at the 5th pick and he's been a perfect fit with Wall and McGee.Comment

Washington sounds interesting for Sullinger. The problem is that they pick at 2 and have some better options in Barnes and Robinson.
Thanks for the advice.Tennessee Volunteers

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
I'm trying to move Monta Ellis and am trying to think of some destinations. Minnesota seems like the best fit right now. I've got a 3 team deal but I'm not sure if its fair or not
MIN gets
Monta Ellis
GSW gets
Marcin Gortat
Derrick Williams
PHX gets
Wesley Johnson
Protected 2014 1st round pick from MIN
The T'Wolves do the deal to get a 3rd key player so they can make a run the the playoffs. Johnson has underpreformed and Ellis is an upgrade over Williams. Pekovich is emerging at center and they will have about 8M in cap room to add a SF.
The Warriors want to clear out room to make Curry the franchise player and give Klay Thompson more playing time. They also add a true center and a young forward.
The Suns are a question mark. I think Gortat could be expendable because they have Greg Oden and are likely drafting Jared Sullinger. If Oden is healthy (big if) then Sullinger/Morris/Oden could be a solid young frontcourt. They only have Dudley and Childress under contract on the wings and could take a chance and add Johnson. I could also throw in Dorrell Wright or Michael Beasley in a sign and trade if needed. The Suns also would have 30M in cap room so they can be major players in free agency.
Does this trade seem fair? Is Ellis a good fit with Minnesota or is there a better option?Tennessee Volunteers
