Re: NBA 2K13 - All 31 Signature Skills Revealed
Everybody's gonna be watching their hud trying to trigger signature skills. This is gonna be funny because you know some people will expect their sig skill to work 100% of the time.
How in the world will I stop Kobe Bryant if he has Shot Creator, Dead Eye, and Heat Retention all activated at the same time? I like that we cant just rely on timeouts just to cool somebody off.xbox gt - bmorerep87

there are, in a way, they just didn't say it outright. the guys who are "dimers" are all guys with high pass ratings, anyway. they didn't say it outright, but it's not like a guy with 72 pass rating is going to have that skill, because that makes no sense.xbox gt - bmorerep87

Re: NBA 2K13 - All Signature Skills Revealed
That's because they established a defensive culture in Boston. Did he do that on Minnesota? No. Those teams were mediocre on defense most of the time.
Tyson Chandler didn't do jack except hold down the paint. I didn't see Steve Novak or Jeremy Lin playing better defense by virtue of Chandler being on the floor.
So does a great perimeter defender. Why can't we have that?

Re: NBA 2K13 - All 31 Signature Skills Revealed
You know there are plenty of novice players who just pop the game in and hop on without reading anything prior to release. They'll hop into a game and try doing the same thing they did in 2K12, or just seeing their Signature Skills and thinking they'll automatically work no matter what to do.

Re: NBA 2K13 - All Signature Skills Revealed
well, if we're being technical, kg was a great communicator and defensive anchor in minnesota, but the results weren't nearly as drastically successful until boston. it was a perfect storm, but he was the physical lynchpin of rivers and thibodeau's system.
this is a great start.
This is rarely something that a player alone can accomplish.Comment

I'm hype for these SS. I love how players are now different from each other! Now casual players who always pick power house teams all the time won't be able to compete with 2K Vets who masters SS with mediocre teams.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 - All Signature Skills Revealed
its easier to steer a player into dwight howard then it is for players who dont play defense to stop certain players straight up.
Its team defense not one player defense, teams dont play man all game they use different rotations and yes that does increase team defense if you have a great defensive big manLast edited by DatGD12guage; 09-02-2012, 04:35 PM.Comment

That could play to many people's benefits.

Re: NBA 2K13 - All Signature Skills Revealed
it doesnt make them better but I think that they are saying that having a guy like KG holding down the paint makes it easier to play perimeter D against shooting because you know that you have a defensive anchor in the paint.

Defensive anchors don't make players better. They make it more acceptable (if you will) for the players around them to gamble (play passing lines, play tight defense, etc.), since the anchor can cover up a mistake that might happen as a result.
Also:
When an Eraser swats a shot, he boosts the energy of his teammates and decreases the shooting attributes (up to six points) of the player he blocked for up to a minute and a half.
How does this make sense? What's this trying to replicate, a player getting dejected by having his shot blocked? That doesn't happen-- these are the best basketball players in the known universe. They don't get rattled like that. It should just be up to the user to know that he has to be wary of the shot-blocker inside and adjust accordingly. Shot-blockers don't make players miss jumpers.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 - All 31 Signature Skills Revealed
It seems like there's been some confusion with what exactly what these skills do. If the defensive anchor is to is communicating with his team and their defensive awareness will go up. also, if a great post passer delivers the ball on a dime to a person at three point line then the chances of making the shot will go up because the ball will be in rhythm.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 - All 31 Signature Skills Revealed
I'd say elite ball handlers send their defender into "recovery" about 30% of the time anyway....I just hope it's more "recovery" and not so much falling or stumbling..that would be my only concern....I don't think dudes will be falling left and right at all though....
And again, nobody said anything about people falling left to right. Not sure why you keep mentioning that as if someone is saying that is what is going to happen. I am still scared that it will happen too often. Not alot, but more than a realistic amount.Comment
