Loving these SS as long as they get implemented without being cheesy. Being the commish of a SIM league whenever changes like these are made, thats always a concern.... Love where this game is headed though only skills that scare me are Ankle Breaker, and Pick Pocket

Defensive anchors don't make players better. They make it more acceptable (if you will) for the players around them to gamble (play passing lines, play tight defense, etc.), since the anchor can cover up a mistake that might happen as a result.

      Also:

When an Eraser swats a shot, he boosts the energy of his teammates and decreases the shooting attributes (up to six points) of the player he blocked for up to a minute and a half.

How does this make sense? What's this trying to replicate, a player getting dejected by having his shot blocked? That doesn't happen-- these are the best basketball players in the known universe. They don't get rattled like that. It should just be up to the user to know that he has to be wary of the shot-blocker inside and adjust accordingly. Shot-blockers don't make players miss jumpers.
I think they are trying to make the offensive player feel more aware of the defender, a little bit of intimidation, I think this will have a larger effect on role players but the players with the anti freeze shouldn't be bothered by this, If this only applies to when the shooter is near the defender, example if chandler just blocked Brandon Jennings, the Jennings will try to look for where chandler is and avoid him some what. If it only applies to when Jennings is near chandler then fine, but if he is missing open jumpers, I don't like it.

R u serious cuzz, you just made my point b/c I never said it makes them better I said it increases team defense. Big men are suppose to make up for mistakes made by the perimeter defenders so they can get deflections, steals, make the other team take jumpshots, steer them to the help, etc. Its strategy.

And yes shot blocks do give teams momentum swings and its does cause the other team to think twice about what they do thats all they are trying to emulate. I think its all a legit way to balance the game.

If you don't think defensive anchors alone make defenders better, how does this signature skill make sense?

There were already momentum swings in 2K12 for big plays on offense or defense. This is ridiculous.

No. Tendencies are NOT equal to skills.

                1. It increases team defense to disrupt offensive flow/ do you see how just one Man came to NY and increased the whole team defense and enabled them to incorporate different defensive schemes Just because of him holding down the paint.

                2. Yes but they are telling you in specific what causes them and what stops them. So now you know what you are doing wrong and what you are doing right.

You might be over thinking it cuzin, LOL I aint mad atchu tho

I mean when 2K doesn't spend time editing tendencies the way that they should be of course the average user thinks they don't work or that they don't do enough. Outside of the animation editions, Signature Skills could have been achieved without a fancy new title/gimmick.

All of them are not worthless, I am not saying that but a lot of them are.

Give me a break. Mike Woodson had just as much to do with that as Chandler.

Knicks were top 5 in defense when Mike D'Antoni was still coaching them...

I think its a good strategy b/c most ppl dont take the time to learn what players tendencies and ratings are and dont play the game according to the players strategy and what they do best. Let alone the new comers who know nothing about basketball.

No it just gives 2K an excuse to not worry about editing tendencies. If you all expect roster edit updates to be more thorough then you are sadly mistaken.

                            Updates will include:

1 Game Winner from Hedo: Update: Hedo = Closer.
Brandon Jennings dunks on someone for the first time in his career: Update: Jennings = Posterizer.

2K will go overboard as usual.

It doesn't make your team "great". Just better than it would be without them. Why is that so hard to understand?

Oh come on. A great shot blocker DOES get in a player's head. They tend to change shots or pull up in situations they would normally take it to the basket. It was the value of Omer Asik.
