Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
So I finally decided to get around to MyCareer after starting my franchise. MyCareer is always my favorite part of this game so I saved it for later.
7'1'' center out of Indiana. 19 years old, 230 pounds. More of a rebounder than a scorer, comparable to Marc Gasol. Terrible free throw shooter, I use Real Player % usually and can't get the hang of the normal setting.
Here were my rookie showcase stats:
10 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 blocks, 1 steal, 5-7 shooting, 0-2 free throws.
I was interviewed by Portland, Golden State, and New Orleans. My hope was to go to Golden State and play with Curry, Klay Thompson, and those guys. I got drafted 6th overall by Portland and we have a core of Lillard, Aldrige, Batum and I. Played 12 games so far and have finally won the starting job over J.J. Hickson. Here are my stats as of now.
12 games
23.6 MPG
9.7 PPG
7.4 RPG
3.6 APG
0.4 SPG
1.5 BPG
.504 shooting %
.250 FT%
0.8 TOPG
2.4 ORPG
Blazers off to a fantastic start, 9-3 first in the west.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
I'm having a hard time finding my sweet spot when it comes to difficulty.
On All-Star, Default we won 7 of 9. One loss was on me because I was simply gunning for the 3 point milestone and other we lost by 2 points.
I upped it to Superstar, Sim and we got blown out by SA and OKC (but they're good teams).
Went Superstar, Default we lost two super close games to Atlanta (by one), and New Orleans (by seven).
It's hard because I had to put up god like performances in all 4 games and still felt the computer could not miss on offense.
22 pts, 7 reb, 4 ast, 1 stl, 1 to against SA
30 pts, 7 reb, 7 ast, 1 stl, 3 to against OKC
39 pts, 6 reb, 7 ast, 0 to against NO
40 pts, 10 reb, 8 ast, 1 blk, 3 to against ATL
I feel a Lebron/Durant-esque SF on the current Rockets (plus Big Baby) should be winning more games, but I don't want to blow out every team either. Decisions.
What do you guys think? All-Star Sim or Superstar Default?Comment

Yep, AS/Sim is the way to go for now. I can win on SS, but I hate HAVING to have a monster game every night to have a chance. To each his own, but avg'ing 35-45ppg/15-20apg is just not realistic. And I like to see CPU misses, even open shots missing sometimes. SS and higher and they will NEVER miss an open midrange shot, no matter the player.
Started over, this time on XBox after previously playing on PS3. DL'ed Hyperballer's latest roster, went around editing accessories, ratings & contracts (CP3/D12 etc), then hopped into a new MC. Same deal, 6'3" 202lb athletic PG. Went for 15pts 15ast 6 rebs in the showcase, interviewed w/HOU POR & NOH. Completely bombed HOU interview, told POR & NOH what they wanted to hear. Got drafted to NOH at 10 and loving it so far. We're 1-2 so far, opening with a nice W vs SA but being blown out by CHI and UT.
I've let go of the "immediate title contender" obsession that I had in my last MC with the 76ers (well, Bynum Holiday and the Youngs made that a lot easier) and now am just gonna try to make my impact, improve my player and just go "with the flow" instead of asking to be traded or constantly complaining to the GM. Having so much fun now, even knowing we are not great, even losing. There's so much potential though, and Davis is def a beast and will become such a force. Rivers is a freaking gunner and BALLHOG though, OMG. May have to talk to the GM about him. LOL.
Gonna love creating J's with Hornets colorways.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
It is mostly because I have Floor General(lvl3) and Defense Anchor(Lvl3) and 100% chemistry, but I have success on Superstar Sim. We won every key game this season(12-0).
I think it comes down to your teammates and you limiting TOs. If you have the rebounding, defense, size, and outside shooting in your teammates, then your chances of winning is high. Especially if you play with a teammate with Closer. Playing with Melo(35), I can just let him run ISOs in the 4th and have confidence that we can either maintain a lead or catchupComment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
I always go back and forth between allstar/sim and allstar/default. It seems to me that the sim sliders provide better stats for simulated games, but the default sliders give me a more "realistic" in-game experience. IDK.
I agree totally on an individual level ... TO's are kin. On a team level, the leader of rebounds seems to be the determining factor in winning or losing. I dread the games where I am down going into the fourth, and the other team is out-rebounding us... it does not matter if I am facing the Suns or the Heat, I pretty much accept I will end up losing in the end.Comment

I personally so far have only experimented with Athletic and 3-Point play-styles on my SFs, but I would really enjoy a true Point-forward situation... I just don't know if the AI is strong enough to support such a thing.Comment
