Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

Today, I went to our GM and expressed a few displeasures. First, I told him that we need a serious upgrade at the 3 because Landry Fields simply isn't the answer. His putrid statline (5.2 ppg on 30% shooting in 37 minutes) doesn't even tell the whole story. He makes horrible plays in the game that are serious head scratchers. I gave hin these 5 guys as a possible upgrade:

Nicolas Batum
Paul George
Danny Granger
Rudy Gay
Michael Beasley

Also, I told him that Coach Casey is doing a good job and that he shouldn't be on the hot seat despite our team not performing particularly well.

EDIT: Coach came up to me and let me know that Bargs will be available for our next game against the Bobcats and that he will start at the PF spot and I will start at the 5. JV will be the first big off the bench.

Had a terrible game that became average game against LAL. I started off 1-7 FG, then ended with 6-12 FG. I had 16pts, 11 rebs, and 2 blocks.

Thanks to mynba2k and mylife, I had 1500 VC to work with. I got Dunk to 80 and got Shot Inside to 90. I am now boosting Shot Close to 80(at 77). After that, I will boost Ball Handling and Off Hand Dribble. I might boost Shot Med before those 2. I want to have a face-up game.

We are 23-57 with 2 games left, both against Mavericks. Those 2 games are key games. We are tied with Charlotte with worst record. We are locked in West for worst team. We(Charlotte and us) are also 1 game back from Magic. Since we only won 2 key games this season, there is a high chance we will lose them 2 games. But, I need to have good games. I am 2 double doubles away from 35 double doubles in season. I am looking forward to next season. I would like a PG or SF with the 1st pick, but as long as it isnt a bust I am good.

Since there is only 2 games left and I dont see them rising, I am avging 13pts, 10 rebs(3rd in league), 1.6 blocks(8th), and 81 FT%. I am 3rd in ROY, DPOY, and Rebound Rate. I know there is 0% I will win(even moving up a spot for either award), but just to be top 3 in both is a success for the season. I am 1st in Rookies in Rebs and Blocks.

With those suggestions, expect to lose someone or a pick that is valuable if you get your wish. I wouldnt mind losing the player I like and NEXT year's pick, but most of the time it is this year's 1st pic and a player you like playing with.

I didn't think about that until after I made the siggestions. In a perfect world, they'd trade away some combination of Fields, Bargs, Calderon, and JV. With my luck they'd probably take away Lowry or DDR. If I had to pick one I'd wanna keep DDR.

Say bye to DeRozan, usually the SG leaves when replacing the 3. For me it was Eric Gordon for Kidd-Gilchrist. Deal worked out better for the Hornets.

Yeah it sucks cuz I actually like playing with DDR. I guess we'll see. The AI trade logic in this game sucks. IRL, DeRozan would be untouchable if he were playing as well as he is playing in this game....

Anybody have a better time playing as a small guard or the big forward/center.

My first myplayer I created a 5'9 pg it was hard to score due anything besides assist and steal (active hands).

With my 6'8 SF game just feel easier is it same way with anybody or maybe it's just me and my 5'9 pg who got is shot block by EVERYONE. no matter how much space I had on step back jumper.

This was simply a great game. All of our starters played very well. DDR led the team with 29 points. Lowry had 22 and 12. Fields added 11 big rebounds. Bargs in his first game back, had 18 points and 7 rebounds.

I anchored the team on defense with 19 rebounds and 5 blocks, while adding 19 points on the offensive end. The Cats never really threatened as we won the game 113-96. After playing this game, I regret asking for an upgrade at the 3.

Kemba Walker led the Cats with 28 points and 4 assists.

Our next game is at Detroit (4-8).

I don't understand why is it so hard for 2K to put game sliders in this mode..i think we've been complaining since this mode came the first time..i'm getting frustrated from time to time although i really love to play this mode UGH

Sliders would be great, but now that theirs VC linked across all modes people would exploit games by adjusting sliders to farm VC... 2k wont have that

Play simulation all star it's the best thing to do on this mode you get the most realistic stats and gameplay

While i would like sliders in this mode but then i don't just because as somebody already said people would max everything up for their themselves and lower the CPU's sliders.

I'm a center and I love playing on the raptors! It's true about Fields, 30+ min a night with an avg of 2 pts after 20 games to show for it haha dude is garbage. The sad part is he's got really decent shooting ratings but does nothing with them. His tendencies on the court don't match what he's best at.

You might have to give up Derozan and then some for any of those choices, they're just too good. I asked for Jared Dudley from the suns and only Jared Dudley whos basically a better, younger Kleiza which is all I want from the SF on this team, spot up open jumpers.

Don't regret trying to get rid of Fields, he pulled the same b.s. with me. After I went to the GM for trade suggestions, The very next game he plays like a fire was lit under him but I didn't care cause I knew if we got Dudley he'd still be an improvement over him, well after that game he went right back to being a no-show, non contributor.

Edit: Got Dudley after 5 or 6 games straight up for Ed Davis. =( Landry currently still stinking it up in toronto...

I dunno, I love the moves my GM made, but I wasn't asking for studs either. I was looking for young pieces with some nice upside to fill some holes. I already decided that Harden would develop into the Wade to my LeBron and Lin would be our third option.

1st round pick for Big Baby: Great move that anchors our defense since Asik is criminally underrated and gets no playing time as a result. Also, as a playoff-calibur team (4th seed at the break and rising) our pick won't be that high and we won't get a player of his calibur.

Terrence Jones and Chandler Parsons for Andrea Bargnani: I LOVE this move. I love Chandler but he's redundant with me there and often had me playing out of position at the 4. Bargnani was averaging 25/8 when traded and I can play off his unique strengths well. Both guys I requested were perfect fits and we gave up fair assets to get them.

The AI logic would be worse if you landed a Gay, Granger, George, etc. and DIDN'T give up a DeRozen or Lowry to get them at LEAST.
