I guess he believes that going Athletic is the best start for any position... I think it's true. A back to basket Center will be awesome at post game and can shoot at close range, while a Defensive will be a great wall for blocks, rebounds and all-around defensive game. I will make a defensive Center myself.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Wondering if someone can help me... Both the game and the sport are new to me (became interested in basketball after watching nearly every match during the Olympics).
I started a My Career game in December and was drafted into the Celtics. I was predictably rubbish, given my lack of knowledge on both fronts, and at best was managing 10pts and nothing else a game. I slowly improved and about a third of the way through the season (playing every match) I started managing 15-20pts consistently.
We were roughly 50-50 on our W-Ls. At this point, Rondo left the team and I was made PG. I went from getting 20pts to getting 10pts and 10asts a game, which felt like good progress. The improvement continued and by the end of the season we had moved from 8th to 6th in the conference, and my stats were generally much better - 12-20pts, 5-14asts, 2-3reb and 1-2blk a game. Biggest weakness for me was consistency and turnovers... 5 a game were not uncommon. But we were competitive in nearly every match (providing I kept my focus) and I was continually improving.
Then came the playoffs and predictably the difficulty picked up. Despite my best efforts, we went out to the 76ers 4-0. No problem really as I am still a rookie, both in-game and reality.
The problem is, it now feels like the difficulty is stuck at playoff level in the second season. I don't know if it is, or if my teammates are letting me down, I just suck or there is a bug.
In the first few games I managed similar stats to the end of the previous season, but we lost by 20pts. Passes to teammates get intercepted from half way across the court - if they don't, my teammates drop them, ignore them or throw them at their feet (my turnovers are up to 8+ a game, and I'm being really careful not to make risky passes). Garnett, Pierce or Terry, who previously were fairly sure scorers, now miss nearly every shot they take. In defence, I can hold guys at the 3pt line, but the second they get round me my teammates are nowhere to be seen. To make matters worse, the few times I have managed to get us a lead, I get subbed off and return to a massive deficit - my last game against the Bobcats we were 16-2, then I come off and we're 16-26.
I'm getting quite frustrated with it now (all the more so because I was really enjoying it prior to this issue). I know I'm probably a long way from being a competent player, but at the moment it feels like the game is severely stacked against me.
Is this difficulty spike normal and I'm struggling due to my rookie-ness? Or is the team simply not performing? Any advice?Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Any feedbacks from guys who played center in the Blazers?
Or guys who played any position in the Blazers?
I want to create a center with big blocks and rebounds, and I think Blazers could be good, with Lillard, Batum, and Aldridge, a PF playing not in the paint.Comment

@Fourjays: Sounds perfectly normal to me. Help us out by telling us what position are you playing, how many minutes, what difficulty and if you have bought any signature skills or how have you upgraded your attributes. This topic has helped me a lot and it's 100% certain it will help you too!
@Romano338: I played Athletic PF on the Blazers. Hickson went to bench, and I started as PF with Aldridge at C. We were dominating but I had to accept that Lillard was a ball hog! They are a great team to start.Comment

Then the difficulty resumed to normal in a couple of games. I would suggest play few more games and see if the difficulty comes back to normal, also change the difficulty and save the game, see if that makes a difference ( e.g - change it to HOF save, then change it back to whatever your using then save again. that might reset the difficulty).
the thing about pierce, garnett and terry missing their shots has to do with their age( you did say in your second season), so their attributes wont be as good b'coz their old.Comment

Your lucky day. That is what I am. 7"2 Faceup Centre. I lead in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Aldridge is essentially an automatic assist if you get him on the baseline or near the top of the key. Matthews is pretty consistent with threes. Lillard isn't great in the game, but improves in the second season. 1 tip, In the meet with gm thingy, once a season you will get to say that you really get along with a player. CHOOSE ALDRIDGE. Other wise his minutes go down a bit and he gets unhappy which causes his stats to drop and he might get traded. Happening to me right now. If you need anymore help, feel free to message me.Comment

I think I have mentioned it somewhere. But has anybody of you done the spin dunk? I have purchased two hand spin dunks, I have 90 dunk, 99 vertical and Posterizer. I should be all means be able to do the spin dunk. I have tried everything but still can't do it.Comment

Started over with a 6'3" pg drafted to golden state. IMO the warriors are one of the best teams to get drafted by because of their shooting and curry will be a great backup pg. In my first game I had 11/7/6/2 on 38% shooting. I think I'm going to grow this player slowly by getting him up to be a good defensive pg and great passer then work on shootin 3-4 years down the road. What you guys think?Comment

Finally figured out a decent way to make VC. I have a 7'1" pf/c who is at 99 overall. I stopped playing him because he is basically unstoppable. He is in his second season right now. So, I changed the mins/quarter down to 5 min with 5 min sim. He plays around 17 min a game. I only play the key games and since getting an A+ is super easy with a center I end up with 450-500 easy in 20 mins. 1300-1500 in an hour is nice!
Question....what is the right height for a sg/pg? I tried a 6'5" athletic sg but he ends up being sg/SF. I do not want to be guarding LeBron at that height! It might just be easier to go as a tall pg I guess.Comment
